KingOfSports, you seem like an OK guy, so how did you get the below red flag next to your name? I'm curious how this would happen, is it a troll who decides to smear you? Or maybe, like in business, if you do enough business eventually some a hole will be displeased for some reason?
It's a strange story. KoS struggled with gambling addiction. From what I can remember, he claims that he deliberately damaged his reputation so that people wouldn't lend him coins to gamble with. I believe the dude made him a loan of like 2btc, but sent it to him twice. KoS being the degin that he is justified paying him back half the bitcoins, but since there was no agreement for the other two coins that they where just freebies lol (or the story is very close to along those lines.) Moral of the story: Click the send button once. I suffered from gambling addiction. Now I just invest and keep my distance from it all mostly. I have a girlfriend, life and everything going for me. The story is similar to what was described however the one thing not mentioned is that I still have made offers to end the whole dispute. When I lost that night, I paid back the 2 BTC owed and disappeared for weeks (I went to rehab a week later). Bitcoin at the time was $125 per coin. When I came back to Bitcoin and learned all of what had happened to my rep and such I made the person who made the loan to me, an offer, $275 in BTC which was 2 BTC + 10% for the delay for the unagreed upon BTC. In the month or two I was completely gone from BTC and the whole world, BTC had shot up from $125 to $500+. The person who had made the mistake of clicking send twice did not even consider he had messed up and that my offer was completely awful and stuck to 2 BTC owed, a profit of 5+ his mistake in value. I refused, my rep tarnished. We both made mistakes, my offer still stands and he will still always refuse it I'm sure. If BTC collapses to $137.50 per coin, I will send 2 BTC to his wallet address in his forum account as a kind gesture. I have traded thousands, escrowed (when I was trusted) as much as $5000 at a time, and helped others in many ways. I was not out to scam anyone, if that had been the case I would have gotten someone for a lot more. I disagree with my forum rating and I wish personally the red would go away so I could do a forum campaign but alas it probably won't.

With all those scams it really would be best if dooglus just comes back. Sure, PD may be trusted, I guess, but a monopoly never is good. We need competition. And every new site is inherently untrustworthy. They really need to build up a positive reputation and trust first!
dooglus is indeed trustworthy and him and his wife are good people (I went through this thread). But you are not thinking through your analysis carefully enough. Logically, if dooglus comes back and sets up a dice shop, you should not invest a single sashimi with him. Reason? douglas did Just-Dice.com because it was borderline legal in Canada at the time. But the laws changed, requiring registration and all kinds of hassle, making such dice shops illegal. If he comes back a second time, and has not registered with the authorities (which is unlikely for a btc business), then he has crossed the line into criminality. Anybody who goes from being honest to dishonest cannot be further trusted.

you know i was thinkin....and i got a headache. Stop thinking then. Your headache will go away. your either a leader or follower dooglus... lets us know which one you are I think he's following the law, at least where he is. If he wanted to lead, then he'd be running in parliament. That's too much headache. [/b] yes but parliament people aren't thinkers, thus no headaches......

And manage the site himself, like he is working for a site which is based overseas.

He's gotten more than one offer to do just that. I'm guessing he's going to take his time deciding on which one, or to see if some new site that looks promising comes up.

What jurisdiction allows online gambling by anybody? None that I know of, but I'm not in this field. Arguably Canada was a loophole that was closed. But are there any other "Canadas" out there? I can't think of any. What country? Certainly not any EU country. Nor North or South America. Nor China and the ex-communist countries. The only country I can think of as I type this might be some African country maybe?

I amended my question to make it clear we're talking about online gambling by an unlicensed entity. Very hard to do. Recall Canada was a loophole (see this thread). Dooglas escaped by the skin of his teeth IMO, as the Canadian gaming industry was trying to shut him down fast. Where in South America?

I'm in the Philippines. So long as you block citizens of this country, you can operate here. The standard license fees are about $40,000 USD for the first year.

Seems like an interesting location so as long as JD blocks Philippines user use a full license could be acquired for 40K Doesn't seem like a bad deal anyways not a bad location of operation in my opinion.

Cool. That's good to know. I have visited the Philippines and it's pretty nice, once you get past Manila (which has a lot of casinos). $40k USD does not seem like a lot of money for somebody like dooglas with a good reputation and lots of eager backers. Dooglas are you reading this? ;-) But I thought I heard (maybe it was for real estate) that you had to have a 51% Filipino partner in all business deals if you are a foreigner?

I already made the offer to dooglus. He's not saying anything. I take it, he's either thinking about it long and hard, or he's not interested, or he's talking to someone else. The Russians have no qualms running illegal sites. (plus I know all the places to get hookers and blow, if he's into that kind of thing.)

That would immediately destroy my picture of him running a family-style casino. I always imagined him running the Casino while staying in bed with his wife or having a nice Brunch in the kitchen.

I don't think he's married (IIRC Deb was girlfriend) but that is funny about what he was doing while running Just-Dice. From my recollections from chat he often referred to chopping wood, building rabbit cages, and making bonfires! I think there was also something, maybe even a Kyle "painting", about him in the bathtub! ) In short, it was a great site that he operated with honor and integrity and I wish he would bring it back but so far he seems quite reticent. Good Luck!
