You don't need to go through all that, encryption is your friend. You need a good, long, random password with special characters that is difficult to bruteforce. Use it to encrypt your private key and wallet.dat. Or if you feel that you may forget your complex password, use a long sentence that will be easier for you to remember.

I will try that, test with a few coins if it works and if i can recover them after deleting the wallet from my pc (worst case). maybe a noob question: can you stake with the wallet offline? And another one: can you check if my signature is properly displayed? i am skipped from the last airdrop because of my signature, but it seems right to me? it has 7 digits, but yours has to. (some people say that is the issue)

Sure, but remember to do backups... make a backup and then backup your backup just in case. Store your backups on multiple devices.
You can't stake while your wallet is offline, you have to unlock it and keep it running.

Yay! yes, upgraded to the newest wallet...funny part took me three months to realise actually how easy it is to upgrade a wallet. I apologise for all the posts that I created in this regard.
