One last thing I forgot to mention in my previous reply. The DeepOnion team has said time and time again to everybody to not trust exchanges with your money. If you failed to listen to them and did leave coins in Cryptopia (besides those that would be used for daily trading), then that's not DeepOnion team's fault. It wouldn't be their fault either way but they went above and beyond to inform everyone, they do it all the time, in the forum, on Telegram, on Twitter, Reddit, etc., they tell them to keep their coins in their personal wallets. Seriously, take responsibility for your actions. You chose to trust Cryptopia with your money, no one is happy if you lost it but it's not other people's fault. Go talk to Cryptopia's people about it.

maintenance being continued only the forum and votecentral parts closed other parts of deeponion.org works fine
 stay tuned
A constant update is one indicator that the project is working. The project was well manged by the team and this is an indicator that project is successful.

Constant updates and constant participation from the community as well. Not to mention the new features to be ported to the new code rebase! and Yes new developers can join once they see how committed the current team is!

If the DeepOnion wallet showing "Out of Sync" error in red text, then it is having issues to connect with the network:

It is recommended to backup the wallet.dat file and the private keys before starting.

  • Verify that you are using the latest version of the DeepOnion wallet.
  • Make sure that the operating system time and date are correct then restart the wallet.
  • Update the DeepOnion.conf file with the latest nodes.
  • Check that your connection to the Tor® network is not blocked.
  • Use DeepOnion QuickSync to download the blockchain.

There are detailed guides for each step in the DeepOnion Knowledge Base.

The DeepOnion.conf file contains a list of some DeepOnion nodes that are running the DeepOnion wallet. The wallet requires the DeepOnion.conf file at startup to establish connection with the network. After connection is established, the wallet will automatically find other nodes. As long as the wallet is syncing, there is no need to periodically update the DeepOnion.conf file.

You must run the DeepOnion wallet at least one time for the initial files to be created. After running the wallet for the first time, close the wallet and visit the following web page:

https://deeponion.org/DeepOnion.conf.php

Right-click the green button to download the file that contains the latest nods. When the download dialog appears, type "%appdata%\deeponion" in the "File name" text field then click "Save".

The dialog will locate the specified folder and will change the name of the file to "DeepOnion (1).conf" to avoid conflicts.

Rename the file back to "DeepOnion.conf" and then click "Save". If asked, click "Yes" to replace the old file with the new one.

Start the wallet and it should connect to the latest nodes.
If you are using Mac, the "DeepOnion.conf" file should be saved at this location: ~/Library/Application Support/DeepOnion/
If the initial wallet files were stored at a different location, the location must be selected manually.
If you are still having issues, check the DeepOnion Knowledge Base or ask for help at the DeepOnion community.
If your wallet is being blocked by a firewall or if your ISP is blocking Tor, the wallet will not be able to establish connection. However, there are other ways to bypass censorship.

Exactly. And I find it extremely unfair to go around looking for third parties to accuse when something bad happens to assets stored in an exchange. It's equally ridiculous to leaving your iPhone with your barista in a coffee shop and then blaming Apple when it goes missing. We simply should not leave our assets for safekeeping when there are no guarantees they will be safe. Because exchanges have proven unreliable time and time again. And instead of people learning from previous exchanges' unreliability, we choose to believe that ours is a trusted exchange. And by ours, I mean an exchange one regularly deals with in order to develop a short of familiarity, not that someone has ownership over an exchange.

Unless people learn to be responsible and keep their own assets safe and not in an exchange, we'll be constantly dealing with phenomena like these. That, however, does not mean we should tolerate people going around and blaming other people who have done nothing wrong to them.

Of course, but also we can't be completely sure even when we're dealing with fiat money and we're getting out of the house. There will always be risks, but we can make them less significant.

That's true. And we must make sure that we minimize the risks when we're talking assets or money. Cryptocurrency is not the only thing that can be stolen if someone is not too careful.

Bisq is one of a few decentralized crypto exchanges out there. It seems that the new trend in crypto will be focused on these decentralized exchanges because of the many benefits including total privacy for the users. It is a good sign that DeepOnion is been listed already in this good DEX exchange!! so we need to support this exchange in different ways we can!

What thread/list are you building every day? I keep building this one:

https://deeponion.org/community/threads/deeponions-community-driven-grassrootmovements-connections.40940/

among other lists, it would be nice to support some of your own! just choose any interesting idea that you may have in mind and start doing small steps each day and you'll see it grow with time, and if it is something very interesting that will add value to the DeepOnion project, others will support it too!

You seem to be misinformed, pal. DeepOnion has made a lot of things and released stuff after the Android release of the wallet. Perhaps you’d like to go to deeponion.org to learn about all of DeepOnion’s releases and updates. As for the Cryptopia hack, the DeepOnion team has no relation to that whatsoever but it’s been talked about in the DeepOnion official forum. The team has definitely talked about it there. If you need another exchange to trade DeepOnion, there’s quite a number of them, you can find them too at deeponion.org if you care to take a look.
DeepOnion has done so many updates up to now. This project really works and still nailing the crypto scene.

Of course, but also we can't be completely sure even when we're dealing with fiat money and we're getting out of the house. There will always be risks, but we can make them less significant.

It is like saying even our private keys can be lost or be stolen by hackers if we do not proper care to them, use good antivirus, anti-malware, etc.

Nobody can guarantee a 100% safety of funds at any exchange.  Main reason being exchange controls your private keys and are actually owners once you transfer your coins to exchanges.  Only keep coins at exchanges you can afford to lose.  Better trade and withdraw coins to your wallet you have control over (with private keys).  and Never share your private keys.

Indeed. Of course, I'd still prefer to own the private keys of my wallet and have my assets there instead of leaving them in an exchange. And it's more responsible too.
