First of all, there's no relation between merit and trust. Both are different. Merit is a sign of good quality post.
The negative tag on Deeper is something a wrong feedback one in my opinion, everyone can give feedback as they want. You have to read the reference link and learn what actually happened.

The way Jerome Powell talked, he seems to be very careful for the US people  which to me is very unlikely to happen from a person leading FED. Anyway, he is true though. US people would more likely to be interested in private transactions than transparent and public transaction like bitcoin. That's a good thing for us, for the whole privacy coins network.

Yes, if someone puts a negative tag on thread creator, people who visit the forum without log in and are newbie (there's limit of some certain hours of forum browsing), a yellow banner will be shown. The negative tag doesn't always mean to be true. You must check the depth of the feedback.
