I started with bittrex. It's exchange where you have a fairly large volume. The interface is simple and is one of the oldest and most serious. Another advantage would be that withdrawals are instant.

i would recommend bittrex or poloniex. i personally first started using poloniex because i believe their platform is the most user friendly one. i eventually switched to bittrex which i use until now.

I wanted to try bittrex, but new account registration has been halted due to " enormous number of new account registrations over the past few weeks"

I was away from crypto for years and now I'm trying to get back into the game.  I was really STUNNED that there is no exchange, even after many years since bitcoin started, that we can just deposit USD and start exchanging altcoins.  I hope I'm wrong because this would be the single biggest hurdle for altcoins to be widely adopted by general public.  There are just too many hurdles to jump over just to START trading.

The best exchanger for me is poloniex, i had try with other ones, but i always end back in polo. And i like it for the next reasons.

Security: User should have access to his mail for any transaction, they give the option for 2fa, and it have not a bad feedback about hacking history.
Time: They don't hold users coins, when you make a withdraw they process it fast.
Limits: Without a verify account, users can withdraw $2k/day, that isn't bad at all.

I like the exchangers who let you feel you are holding the money. sites like bittrex can be a bad experience.

By the way, if shapeshift jut had a nice fees and not a nuts one, would be the number one for me.

Many people are saying that hitbtc is the exchanger if you are a beginner and i agree with that because hitbtc is a user friendly market. But My first trading history iss in etherdelta because that exchanger landed first my holding coin

For beginners who want to start trading better to use a trusted and safe exchange. Because most beginners are afraid of losing their money in exchange so you have to choose a more trusted one. Bittrex is one of them not only trusted and safe this exchange is easy to understand also good for beginner.

bittrex - large selection of violas and tokens, a simple interface, now when you register
require copies of documents for verification
poloniex - large volume of trades, that is all the coins you can quickly purchase and sell,
new users registration and verification through web camera
bitfinex - love her traders for a large number of tools for analysis and trade, was at first a little
a complicated interface, but you can input and output the crypt without verification immediately after registration

Why are you all suggesting bittrex or binance?
No one can register there at the moment.
If I were newbie I would try cryptopia or poloniex. They are both good exchanges with reasonable cashout limits for unverified accounts.

My list of easy exchange for beginners would be coinbase, just to get started.

Then binance and Cryptopia once you get a hang of being able to manage multiple coins. Other sites cant match the options these two give, with binance being slightly better of the two.

Binance is really great for beginner as it has a very nice interface and very easy to use, it also has a wide variety of alts to buy and the volume in the exchange is big aswell, but it doesn't have usd deposit so you have to buy your bitcoin somewhere else and send it there afterwards.

I agree with you, Binance is a new but very big exchange with very large trading volume, I think it is very suitable for beginer to trading for short term investment. Buying today and selling it tomorrow.

I recommend you go to binance:https://www.binance.com/trade.html for a good experience. Altcoin is also quite secure. Trading is also faster.

There are exchanges whereby you can deposit USD and just start trading. The ones that I know accept USD are Bitstamp, Coinbase and Kraken. Once depositing fiat and exchanging it for BTC, you can transfer the BTC to other exchanges such as Binance and Bittrex to buy altcoins. They have a very simple layout, especially for beginners.

For me personally as I live somewhere in asia, the only way for me to convert fiat to crypto is thru bitcoin only. Bitcoin is my only entrance/exit to fiat.
I lose a lot in the exchange process and bitcoin transfer fee is also too high now in USD.
