Ok. It is good to know that metamask to chrome browser pose problems if you install so many will be warned. I am glad I have installed metamask before with many good reviews. Maybe this version is not good at all and that many bad reviews surfaced.

How many version is metamask has? I dont really understand how it work since now i still feel happy with myetherwallet.
I will feel free to check this to remind me that is not all metamask is good. Thanks for warning.

MEW and Metamask basically works the same way. The main difference is that with MEW, you have to INPUT your private keys into the browser which you may or may not send to the server hosting the webpage. This is a security risk because you may send your keys to a phishing site.

Metamask is self-contained, meaning it just sends out signed transactions instead of keys. It's great with ETH but no support for tokens. So you need MEW and Metamask to move tokens.

Thank you for sharing. Fake MEW and now it's fake Metamask. LOL. These guys are genius but they use their brain in wrong way. Maybe if they spend their intelligent in something else, they'll have been able to earn a lot of money but they chose the worst way, try to hack other people token. LOL. I'll be careful when I want to install metamask Wink

Crypto is a booming industry. Expect more shenanigans and more creative ways to steal from you. Just remember though, 80% of online theft is done through social engineering.

To be sure, go to https://metamask.io/ first. Usually the real one has lots of reviews.

Do not install this to Chrome browser. It's fake. Always check if the extension has many reviews before installing. It might steal your Ethereum private keys. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/metamask/ajhghapnjiaimhegcipdpehnihdkljdj?utm_source=chrome-ntp-icon

It clearly looks like a phishing app.
I don't get how people really mistake stuff like this... They even pay to some phishing ICOs, like come one...
Be careful.

people will probably mistaken it as a real metamask because their name was completely the same and identical to the original one but the only difference between them is the logo. The original metamask has a fox logo while the logo of the fake one seems odd. the other way to know if the app is legit or fake is to look for the reviews and feedback,  if their were many bad reviews then the app is not good at all.

It's urgent to report these assholes to prevent future scams.

@ethereumblue already have been made the statement about this scam:
https://twitter.com/EthereumBlue/status/962628354007543808

We have responsibility to report these scammers. People can lost their money especially newcomers who don't understand how to check it.

It's easy to report them
Just click on this. !!!DON'T INSTAL!!!

And then report this scammer

I have seen them when i have checked metamask extension and on first sight i have spotted out already the fake one which do have different logo since we do all know the original ones is having that brown fox logo and for those people who arent aware or do have the first time to see then high chances on downloading the fake one and would really result into loss of money.I didnt expect that scammers do already mimic metamask on a short period of time this is why i do always prefer on using up MEW than on a extension.

Please do not link your MEW address with the Metamask mate. We will not sure they scam us or not. I have checked their video they confirm they would not track our transaction or private key stealing attempt at all.
I use the Metamask as testnet while compiling has been done on ATOM.
Hope you guys not using Metamask as wallet to check on Chrome extension.

Well some ethereum games require MetaMask extension. Like this ether-quest.com. And in future will be more, gaming + crypto-money = eternal love. All DApps will use some form of MetaMask. What is true also is that you need to make the needed effort to split you crypto assets is multiple addresses which is a big headache for average users.

Anyway that fake MetaMask from com.digital.metamask is taked down already.

We shouldn't visit some random websites and/or install some application or extensions to our personal computer. Luckily you got an anti-virus and it immediately blocked the malware that might want to plant to your computer. Only visit a legit website if you are using your personal computer so that your PC won't get compromise easily.

wow, this is very very dangerous if it gets hit with the web like this. I really do not like people who are lazy with work but want to get results. I really do not like the abuse of skills like this. very unfortunate, by the way thanks to share this very valuable information.

but i dont know how these people able to list any app/ext openly ,
google should check their background , there should be a procedure to verify scam attempt .
