How can it be possible , if bitcoin is not legit as a currency in Russia ? You can't buy anything officialy with btc there , and I don't think it will change on a FIFA World Cup period . Probably somewhere it will be possible to pay using btc , but it will be illegal and risky , because law will not protect you in case of fraud .

It won't effect the price at all, but this is great news in the sense it can provide good publicity on a grand state. Hopefully from all this commotion Bitcoin can gain some more credibility .

Worst case scenario, it'll be nothing more than free BTC publicity. But if this approach towards Bitcoin payments ends up being succesful, it could be the trigger needed to start the adoption phase in Russia. And that's when we might see an effect in the price, otherwise, don't expect to see any major movements on the market.
