There are MANY good developers here who want to contribute to the Nxt ecosystem!


Why aren't we collecting ideas which could be turned to functional websites/services. For this we could reserve like 4M NXT. After we have about 10-15 project ideas we assign a bounty to each. Now everyone who comes forward and wants to do it, get the bounty.


Remember, if we have a GOOD product, we don't really need advertisements or marketing!



Also, what do you think about getting the funds from the unused NXT for the reddit campaign? We don't need much, but if we could get 50k NXT we would have many possibilities on reddit to advertise.

I was wondering: how can you make a transaction to someone, without getting him to know your account balance?

For example, if I take a random transaction: http://87.230.14.1/nxt/nxt.cgi?action=2000&tra=15605582137631492127. We see that the person transferred 12 NXT. Image he or she transferred it to a shop. The shop can easily trace this transaction in the blockchain to find out he has 48,040 NXT in his account. The shop knows his or her name and can now start to track the account of this person. Not really something I would like Amazon to know.

So how to hide your account balance? Could the "Decentralized Mixing Service" help us out here? I'm curious .

I am sorry, but this may be the most silly thing someone has said to me in a while.

It's best to just ignore. I am slowly coming to realize that there is sadly a big portion of this community that don't want anyone to raise any questions about anything. It's beginning to look more and more like politics. Being critical is politically incorrect and thus frowned upon.

A contingency to prevent destruction is actually not a bad idea at all, but for reasons I'm sure everyone, even ChuckOne is unaware of...

Has nobody thought of what it will look like externally if the coins get destroyed?  There is already the hoarding thing.  And Thanks to Anon136 for calling these people out in his video interview, but if the coins get destroyed then the net result will look like the hoarders are trying to increase the value of their hoard even moreso.  Yes, it will be a linear increase based on an account owners stake, but still...

Better to find a constructive use of the coins, a much needed side benefit of is to increase liquidity, since there are apparently still a few genesis hoarders.

I have a few of these lined up.  
I'm pulling together a team of developers and designers to work on just these.
ETA for a plan is about one week. These people have jobs and need time to go over the material I dumped on them  

But if all goes to plan, I think you will be pleasantly surprised

We don't need it coz till April the development is centralized on Jean-Luc. He said to upgrade to 0.5.11 and we should do as he said.

I don't see how this can happen. I downloaded 0.5.11 and made fresh install. No blocks.nxt and transactions.nxt at all. They have built up perfectly. No forks so far.

It should be the key aspects of NXT and a description of those in keywords (so that it's usable for a trailer)

I don't think anybody has disagreed with the 3 million NXT from unclaimed funds for marketing. Do you want to continue managing that by running polls, etc. or would you rather delegate that to someone else?

I prefer to delegate that to someone else.

We already reached consensus about authorizing 3 million NXT for marketing. It is now just a matter of regular disbursements, so please choose NXTcommunityfund or salsacz or landomata or somebody else to manage the disbursements. Repolling again and again for already authorized funds in inefficient.

We can still do all that for the remaining 6 million NXT, though I think we should set aside 1 million of that to NXT servers.

Qbtc is rreferring to the www.nxtcrypto.org site.  She should not have to pay the fefees out of pocket.  Come on people.  Same for joefox on wiki and btc24 on forums and intel for info/download.
Marketing fund.

I We sent 50k + 5k for wiki to cover for last 2 months from the NxtMarketing. There is also a small support for new sites from these funds and there would be support for most important sites that also provide new content... Most important are consultations.. this page is not optimal for new users: http://www.nxtcrypto.org/nxt-coin/client-download but new clients would hopefully solve it

I agree with salsacz here.  He's given my a much-needed bounty fund to use for wiki translations, and those rewards have been sent out for work done in December and January.  The presence of the fund has driven more interest in translation, which furthers our goal of getting more international reach.  The front page of the wiki is now available in 16 languages.

I am comfortable with how I've been rewarded for the wiki and most of my other work; I can almost cover my costs (not including time) so I'm not too concerned there.

Work on a podcast is coming along, and I am continuing to produce the "Nxt minutes" for the Let's Talk Bitcoin podcast.  A thread for feedback and comment on those minutes will appear on the nxtcrypto forums very shortly.  

I have already put out a call for contributors to the podcast, and thanks to an interview that's about to start, and gracious permission from Tai Zen to use audio from his excellent interview with Anon136, we've got enough to put together a solid first episode.  So stay tuned.
