Guys guys, slow down - are you sure about the legality of owning these aliases just like that?
It's the world of cryptoanarchy. There is no such word as "legal". Not yet. In cases like this they fight with everything they have at their disposal. Even íf a judge would follow current jurisdiction, that only gives protection to hugely inflated prices. The best they can do is force the owner of the alias to sell it at market rates that they would have to pay anyway. I predict that the market rate of the cocacola alias will be high anyway (as for any other major brand) so anyone owning them stands to make a tidy profit anyway

Idea:
Couldn;t a Pizza store link all it's customers accounts back to its alias (account)....basically two way communication link:
1) The Pizza store can communicate deals or special discounts for the 1st 25 buyers as example.
2) You pizza lover receives that msg to your alias linked to the stores alias....you like the deal so you immediately transmit payment from your alias (account) back to the store.
Instant and secure....no one has this yet.

At the other hand someday in some country whole Nxt could be illegal. I think that laws'd be based on ethics, and such system as Nxt protects some of almost universally recognized human rights. So everyone thinking is facing a choice: fight (with options of intense of battle) for ethics of fold. And for sure some people'll fight for their own ethics like some well-known Norwegian did...

isn't it nessesary to adding some prefix standard to prevent content validating by parsing? this number could be an account/transaction/block or even an phone/zip number or encoded gps location. how could a jumpcenter find out what entity is behind this content without a declaration prefix? entity parsing and validating doesn't work reliable this way or do i miss something here? any takers here? Is it about URIs? alias is much more powerfull then just an uri/account/mails/phonenumbers shortener or stuff like this. aliases could be also used as an mighty automation entity, e.g. to launch complete phonecalls, sending a fax with an order confirmation, printing and sending invoices for goods bought online, trigger db-events or even directing to gps location on interactive maps, if...we add additional identifier fields to aliases. similar to http content-type. a content-type field could be used for this. even if many of these examples could be done with other tools, why not giving alias these functionality also if desired by developers.

It's already implemented. Aliases point to URIs like this -> "tel:+12024561111". If u put it inside <A href> u can make a phone call via browser. Edit: All that we need is to improve URI standard.

It's supported already via custom URIs. For example: thehive:action=joinNetwork&netId=42

Regarding the use of Raspberry Pi for forging/helping out the network, i had problems running the client in Model B as is, mostly running out of memory. However, if you mount the nxt directory in a separate usb stick and add extra swap memory by utilizing another usb stick, performance is seriously enhanced. The faster the usb stick, especially the one used as swap, the better the performance. Glad to give details if anyone interested.

What's the latest with big stakeholders selling off some of their Nxt? Has it been happening at all lately? I hope so.
It seems from dgex that the price is going down a little cos people are trying to sell some off, which is good really as people can now get a piece of the action for a bit cheaper, before the inevitable price increase on source release. Just checked the top accounts on the nxt blockchain and 27 holders own 10+ mil..will check in the near future if this has changed.

What I would also suggest is looking how many accounts are sending to the address 6635869272840226493. Since I believe this is the DGEX account.

I (and other) wanna see site with realtime distribution of NXT through growing network. I'd be ni-i-ice and such data can be used for some serious economic's analysis work later (advice ).
