Who wants to develop a lightweight NXT tool for Windows or Mac, which sits just in your taskbar/menubar (see picture as a mockup)?I'm no developer, so somebody needs to step up for this. But I could make a nice landing page for it Idea: Installing and running this little tool should be hassle free. You can lookup your account, use main Nxt functions (like sending NXT, messaging), activate/deactivate forging right from the menu and you see some general blockchain stats. That way, we could promote this little gadget as a simple and lightweight tool which runs smoothly in the background, forging for you (or not) and securing the Nxt network.Wouldn't you and newcomers love this lightweight and unobtrusive tool which actively secures the Nxt network? Here is a mockup with stolen elements of a famous UI IMAGE (I posted this idea once (or twice) before but no dev wanted to do it yet) We need some Nxt

i find it hard to believe that i only posted in this thread 83 times
83 is two month ago, now it is 527! How hard would it be to bump this from 100 people to 300 or even 500 people? I am looking for involved NXTers to send these ballot codes to...

I had to read that twice. Probably three times. Then I switched to twitter and fumbled twice before composing a readable tweet. Probably three times. Thank you Jean-Luc and Congratulations Everyone

thnx wesleyh... we need at least one of us to keep it together!!! Too late. The presses are rolling this weekend. I'm not too worried about this faux pas. A software project that releases a month early? I think our reputation will survive.

I'm almost sure that someone already mentioned this, but, just in case...
Should be good for marketing: there is a very fundamental difference between 51% attacks in PoS and PoW. In PoW, if somebody controls 51% of hashing power, he call kill not only, say, BTC, but also all of its clones that rely on the same kind of algorithm, with no additional cost. In PoS, however, after spending a lot of money to get a sufficient stake and killing a coin, the bad guy would have to spend more and more money to kill the clones that the community may start after.
Nice. To the moon.

I made an easy page for hopefully most of the BCT threads: http://www.nxtcoins.nl/bitcointalk-threads/There is more than enough activity outside of this thread, contrary what people may think. Chances are I've missed some. If people who are involved in these could send me a PM, I'll add them. Also: Awesome

So, the first two NIP we are submitting are to implement TF using Alias to link URI (IP or DNS) address to NXT account. This allows nodes to directly send to the IP address of the next account that will forge. Hmm, as I understand: - 1000+ TPS'll require actions of forgers to be "transparent": highight Net-address for acc (and it'll be profitable, ofc; enough amount of known high-forgers on network = 1000+ TPS); - penalty on the other side for non-forging accs (90%+ protection)'ll be protocol-level. Or not?
