Thought I would add a fun one. What are the letters after the period? I can see "DEVCOIN." but the rest I can't figure out. Devcoin.Org Edit: if your asking about logos Chrome, Ruby On Rails, Gnome.

I think we should have a sizeable bounty for the first person or organisation to make a high quality 3d printer which is available for $500 or less. It will happen sooner or later - but it'd be nice to support the spread of 3d printing

Come on guys, lets get some more logos made. And I need someone to test out the QR on that logo too to make sure it works for everyone. We want to get this voting done we need to get 15.
Your logo was cool but I too didn't get the last 3 letter, the ORG, Because there's no R Which I could see. Other than that its great. Edit: It's now officially Sabbath. Shabbat Shalom and good night. See you guys on Sunday.

Does anyone know of a devcoin block explorer that shows blocksizes? See http://dot-bit.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=972 for why I want to check on this.

More than just America needs to know about the coins. If anyone can actually speak other languages, please go add to the discussion, or make your own devcoin thread.

Probably worth pointing out that devtome articles have to be in english for the moment. Edit: I'd guess that's due to difficulties in collaborative vetting of content and source for the time being. A list of translators has been started: http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=devtome_translators

Aw, really? We should work on setting up a "Translate each others work for Devcoins" program. And get even the stuff we already have put in other languages.

@Vlad keep a backup of your wallet.dat file on 2 or 3 usb sticks. And ensure you wallet is encrypted and you know or have written down the key to unlock.
How do you back up your wallet on a usb stick? I wanted to do that but I don't know which files to copy - it seems like the wallet has dozens of small files and I don't recognize them all. That's why I decided to just move my entire user file which wasn't possible. If I miss just one I'll mess things up again. And I know, copy don't ever cut. I didn't know cut was a delete function. To back up the wallet, you need to stop devcoin and copy the wallet.dat file. Rather then join in on the noble members that are donating to replace the lost coins I am going to do something else. I think it we added the backup option to the gui this would not have happened.... so.. I am going to go a different way with this. Rather than helping to restore the lost funds I am going to offer a bounty to help make sure he and others do not try and backup their wallet that way again. I am offering a bounty of 75000 DVC for someone to bring out the backup wallet functionality to the GUI. In addition I am offering another 75000 DVC if you also add sign/verify message to the GUI. One condition is that you pm me first, so I can know someone is working on it. I can also send you some pointers that may help you along as well. I'll put 100,000 Devcoins up for this bounty.. backing up wallet should be one click and select location to save it to... and encryption should be required or heavily prompted. i use the signed messages a lot less so i'll put 20,000 Devcoins up on that bounty. Please PM me to prompt me payment as i am little swamped with all the activation request accounts for devtome!!

If you would like me to stem the flow I could ask that some of the 50 words be sent to me on the thread I made about Devtome, then I could message you with lists of users that sent a good 50 words.

I would like to translate some devtome material to spanish, at the moment the translators list works to have the work of foreign language speakers translated to english and upload it to devtome

Listed in order of seniority, FinShaggy, Metazilla, Emfox and Weisoq did a lot. I looked over their posts and saw that they were helpful and polite, so they were asked to be administrators. Besides the option of maintaining a receiver file, each administrator does one task. The following choices were given:
1) Promoter.
2) Awarding the tiny (fraction of a share) bounties, and checking that paid maintenance work is being done.
3) Helping people install devcoin on Linux, making binaries for major Linux distributions, and when possible, packages.
4) Investor relations. Charting the growth in words and page views. When we have advertising revenue, determine the net present value of writing a devtome article and chart the growth in revenue.
5) Signing up writers, along with Fuzzy Bear and any other signing administrators. The work would be split according to the writers' name, for example if there were two, the first signing administrator would handle A-K, and the second L-Z.
6) Handling the bitcoin share and devcoin share list.
7) Make up your own job.
FinShaggy chose promoter, Metazilla chose the share lists, Emfox chose Linux, and Weisoq chose to sign up writers. They'll all get the 1 to 4 shares ongoing for administration work.

Thanks Unthinkingbit and jasin. Also I'd recommend that all of the administrators join the #devcoin IRC channel on freenode.net, in case people need help with devcoin. There are already a few people idling in the channel daily, but it'd be cool to get the channel more active! Unthinkingbit, maybe you could add the IRC channel info to the 1st post of this thread?
