It's because of coinwarz really...when the diff drops you get near the top, then you get hammered until the diff is higher and you drop down the order again.

What does it mean when the hashing rate goes up this fast? Do the coins get consolidated to the ones that are providing this big spike in hashing rate? I.e. the little guy gets less coins?

I'm not a miner, just a speculator/investor so apologies if it's a silly question.

Yes I've been having the same trouble too. I chatted with someone on the IRC and they said someone is working on it. Not sure when they'll get it fixed though.
