yes please, let's keep this coin outside of exchanges at least for a couple weeks. all the other coins that got into an exchange on the first couple days are insta dumped, and eventually die. Anyone remember TIPS, MOON or CAGE? yeah, no more BTC market for them. Let's stay with a low profile, and we are even safe from multipools fucking up the difficulty.

Someone made the point that remaining low profile may actually cause larger dumps. I think the key is to get the coin spread out far and wide as quickly as possible. The more holders the better.

Of course, we're not looking to remain low profile but don't want to rush onto coinedup etc as i feel those exchanges may only server to de value the coin, at least for a few days.

Hey guys! I really believe in this coin, though it has to get promoted a bit. It's a bit in the shadows of Coinye and other scamcoins.

It would be fun to hear why YOU think this will be huge or why it will be worthless, so tell me! Cheesy

Yes, I agree totally. We want the forum to take a big interest (as rightly they should, it's crazy that the difficulty is still this low), and then once we've gained sufficient momentum, then hit the exchanges. Without momentum the coin will be seriously devalued.

I don't know if you've looked in the Klondike trade thread, but it's kind of funny how easily people are willing to throw them away for fractions of BTC.

Quite simple, really. It's basically very similar to Catcoin, without the inherent problems the coin has, and an active developer. Low total number of coins instantly make them more valuable, and like Catcoin there is no premine. The Klondike launch went smooth, the coin has a nice branding, and the developer is active and knows what he's doing.

It's far better than so many of the coins being released, but because there are so many being released it's falling under the radar. Which is fantastic for us early adopters, but now we need the word to spread so we can get more miners, and more coin holders before we go to an exchange.

I'm not joking when I say Klondike Coin can easily sell for over 0.001 per coin once it hits the exchanges. Provided all goes well.

However, if the coin is dumped in high volume, then that won't happen. Why anyone would dump a coin with such a low total number of coins though is beyond me.

Dev has released a faucet; http://faucet.klondikecoin.com/

Dip into those pockets guys. The faucet will generate more interest in the coin. I'm making a donation right now.

I couldn't agree with you more!
I really hope it will hit 0.001, that would make me pretty rich!

Maybe we should mine it until like 2.5diff and then start promoting it? Us early-adopters should get a bigger piece of the cake, haha!  Grin

It's not a bad idea to set a difficulty target to aim for before we make the big push for the exchanges, but to reach that difficulty we need to attract more miners. I would caution sitting back and letting the coins pile up though. If forum activity goes down instead of up for the coin, then the hashrate will drop, incoming coins will increase, and too many people will hold too large a stake in the coins. They'll get dumped and the price will plummet.

We want the difficulty to start going up now if we want the coins to have any value. Go up slowly, of course, but according to the next difficulty change it's about to go down a little. Now is the time for giveaways and promotions.

I'm happy to consider it. I wouldn't be able to do it until at least Tuesday, as I have work to do over the next couple of days. If nobody else volunteers in the meantime, then I don't mind doing it. I'll put some coins into the giveaway myself, and hopefully others will donate to make it a decent giveaway.

I'd also like to propose an idea to the developer;

How about we set up some bounty addresses in the OP for some services? People can then donate to the bounties and the bounties can be awarded to whoever the first is to set up X service.

Gambling sites are always quick to jump onto this, as they can re-use code, but it would also be good to offer a bounty for getting Klondike mentioned on a well-known crypto blog, or to make a video about Klondike coin. The Klondike community can suggest some bounty ideas, and we can run with the best ones and start filling them up with coins to entice further development.

Donation-driven development is so much better than premine development. Everyone who has a decent stake would know the smart thing to do would be to invest in the coin's success.

for starters :

the op is posting almost every page (shows they will fightfor it)

coin is rare (few millions)

no premine - fair start. everyone had a go at it.therefore there is no one holding 100x coins

reddit - this coin will not be advertised only here, but also in reddit. there wont be only miner that will know about this.

giveaways - there is no premine but yet giveaways. this is a good sign of people helping out

We need some kind of advertising picture! Im thinking a picture stating the above, with the coin center, and something klondikeIsh (the IRL thing) in the background. Make it flahsy and attractive. Photoshopers where you at?! Smiley Since no advertising picture has been made yet (what i know of) THe first one thats a solid pic will probably be rewarded (if  its good ofc) I know i would send some!

There you go, our first original good idea for a competition. That would be an easy one to do. Start a competition, get some donations for the prize, and the winner and some runner ups get some coins for the best Klondike Coin poster.  Smiley

Hi!

Yes we can certainly organise some bountys, i'll sort these tomorrow.

We can do bountys for:

Gambling site
Big blog to feature us

Reddit tip bot is being organised by us. We can do a bounty for an exchange to list us but i'd like to give it a couple more days. It's very early days still, if you look at any of the cryptos that have taken off and lasted you'll see they got off to a slow start, Doge is a minor exception though that was the first of the 'stupid' coins.

please submit other ideas and i will organise it all tomorrow Smiley I will also do a flurry of giveaway threads tomorrow to drum up more interest.

Feel free to organise any small competitions in the meantime, i'm happy to sort the prizes. As i said we have been receiving donations, if you'd like to post competition ideas here i'm happy to put up 500 KDC in prizes for community organised competitions now Smiley

If you want to start the bounty donations send them to the below, coinarmy have already provided a sizeable donation however Smiley :
