Why does he compare dash to xmr? I would say that bitcoin with 3rd party Green Addresses and 3rd party mixers is a snake oil. I choose Dash, which is Bitcoin + Incentivized full node + darksend. There will be more exciting features thanks to Masternode Network, but Dash has everything what I wanted already. edit: Thanks for some buzz Peter. Don't buy to many or maybe you just wnted some attention LOL

Dash is 27.3 times faster with syncing and updating than Bitcoin and 93.7 times faster than Monero. Bitcoin (v0.11.0) has a Tao ratio 11.2% faster than bitcoin (v0.10.0) release. Dash (v.0.12.0.49) = Tao sync ratio = 0.15 seconds / hour of update || Dash (v.0.11.2.23) = Tao sync ratio = 0.24 seconds / hour of update. V12 versus V11 speedup = +36.5% Bitcoin (v.0.11.0) = Tao sync ratio = 4.14 seconds / hour of update || Monero (v.0.41.1) = Tao sync ratio = 14.2 seconds / hour of update

The comment by Peter Todd, makes me now just want to promote DASH instead of Bitcoin. Go Evan and Go DASH!!! I hope the new updates in DASH will move us in #2 position.
I already decided now to just promote Dash. Thanks Peter Todd.

i just hate guys like him, arrogant dick weeds i would so kick his ass if i meet him somewhere You know, if one of those egocentric, arrogant dick weeds come up with the idea of incentivized full nodes (masternodes) and what can be done on top of that, then it would be another story. Evan said something about scalability issue few months ago and that he has an idea how to improve it. If he has some simple trust-less solution, we will see those egocentric, arrogant dick weeds again saying...oh why, oh why I didn't come up with such a simple solution

If so, if he is the guy that came here daily to troll, I have absolutely no respect for him, and hence, giving any attention to his comments is beneath us.

What he says? What is greenaddress?
Hi Fatov, someone asked about it last night so I went and read up on it, and made this observation: https://asktom.cf/index.php?topic=421615.msg11900113#msg11900113 . I didn't understand the announcement thread on BCT, so I looked up the wiki: The thread is confusing to me, but according to this wiki: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Green_address I think the comparison is to DASH's instantX technology. The difference is that with Green_addresses, you must trust a server of some sort for correct information to check for double spends, and with instantX, we have the masternode network, which locks transactions, just like a miner would. This is done with the untrusted, distributed masternode network and thus has no double spend weakness. The dual network of miners and masternodes enables DASH to do many new things, and people are just not getting that. We have almost 3000 masternodes, with a 19 million dollar market cap. Bitcoin has less than 6000 full nodes (including miners and pools) with a 4 billion dollar market cap. Think on that. The above issue is also an issue with light wallets. Light wallets used on phones, etc... do not carry the entire blockchain and instead rely on a server to send them that information. If that server is compromised, it could mess up ability to make a payment. Soon, but not yet implemented, the masternode network will be doing this job for DASH light wallets, and therefore the blockchain will be "served up" via the network, not a trusted centralized source. DASH's dual network has solved a myriad of issues with Bitcoin. Really sorry I'm the only one around right now. Wish Toknormal could explain this stuff, he's really good Smiley ::cut::

Ah, I see. I'll give him a break, his picture makes him look so young. A lot of good ideas didn't get follow-through, so he could have been consulting in good faith. Still, if he actually is intelligent, he is being unwise to attack a coin he obviously knows nothing about. It will eventually hurt his reputation far more than DASH's.

Why does he compare dash to xmr? If you click on ' view conversation' it's obvious why. @petertoddbtc compared Dash ("snakeoil") to XMR ("genuine crypto") because @CryptoGambleh brought up some old tweet he make about problems with the "Bytecoin/Cryptonote codebase" and deceitfully framed it as a slam against Monero. If @CryptoGambleh hadn't been such a dishonest wannabe smart-ass, @petertoddbtc would never have mentioned Monero. Remember, you cargo cultists brought it upon yourselves. Peter wasn't 'out to get you' until you goaded him. Perhaps you should stick to building your bamboo runway and crowdfunding child abuse? LOL rekt and double rekt

+1 Every time Evan has solved any of the Bitcoin's problems (DarkSend fixing transactions not being private, masternodes fixing lack of incentive to run full nodes, InstantX fixing slow transactions, and now the blockchain governed funding enabling the development to continue and accelerate for years to come) there's been a lot of grudge and animosity in IRC etc against DASH from Bitcoin devs/fanatics and often Monero devs have been seen there trying to buddy up with the BTC devs feeding that hostility as well. So when a Bitcoin dev is coming from that kind of environment which is filled with hate against DASH, you can't possibly expect him to have anything else to say.

The "green addresses" system is obviously a similar idea to instantX, and I'm sure it's where Evan got the idea. The weak point of "green addresses" is that it relies on a server and it's stored blockchain to verify payments. Obviously, if that blockchain is compromised, double spending could happen and possibly fake coins could be created and spent. This is why it can't work.
But with instantX, the approvals are done via the network, just like mining, except the transactions aren't actually committed to the blockchain until a block is found. In a way, you can think of it as a bunch of mini blocks, suspended until the miners commit them to the chain. They're pre-checked by the masternode network and spends are locked, coins are verified for double spends.
Really, it's a hybrid of POW (miners) and POS (masternodes) But instead of calling POS Proof of stake, we call it Proof of service, since masternodes not only prove they have a stake in the coin, but also must prove they can properly provide service.
