The answer to this has been posted on this ANN many times since 2016.

Ethereum is going to have a completely new system after POW finishes. No other crypto-currency will have anything similar in the sector.

This will mean issues like the volume of transactions and speed can be properly designed for.

Due to this, there is no copy and paste possibility and takes a lot of new coding and programming and a whole heap of extra testing before it can be fully implemented.

Well, in fact, these smart contracts are used on the Etherium platform. After going to POS, the platform will go very far ahead. Competitors will be hard.

I read that many ICOs are selling due to tax or some other reasons, all their eth collected in the ico

So the price is taking a nose dive the past few weeks, but its most likley temporary as eth is doing so many txn/day now and will retutn to $1000 soon

Because making changes that are as huge as switching your algo takes much time. You couldn't honestly expect an overnight change and you would be surprised by the time they have already spent and the time it will still take to roll out. I would say give it until Q3-Q4 for the roll out, but even then don't hold your breathe.

Has it been set in stone that Ethereum goes full POS? Isn't there still the possibility that they will go with a hybrid system or has that been ruled out?

it is bad that the ether rises more slowly than the Altkoins. Everything contributes to the increase in prices, cheap transaction costs, speed, development. I hope soon the price will return to 1000 and above

To the guy who a few pages back was absolutely sure that ETH at 500 USD is a perfect opportunity to buy in. So, did you get any when it dropped even less than 500 USD a few days ago, I am just curious?
i doubt that the current rise in price will hold for too long, so I am really not sure if 500 USD is the bottom for re-entlry (as I have already entered a few times before).

440$ was great price of per eth coins and let's say 500$ is the bottom price then what is the price now
price is going up now 550$ not that much rise but its in green now
if some good news comes about cyrpto market and about ban or unban crypto or ICO then that could impect huge on ETH coin
i heard that china will lift the ICO ban in 2018. if that happens then we will see ETH price above 1500$ soon

Ethereum is alson decetralized under that logic, with only 3 big pools who control the network.
