someone asked what a multipool is, let me explain their modus operandi;

a multipool mines the most profitable coin, a multipool typically has a lot of hashrate.

a coins profitabily is calculated using diff and number of coins generated per block. calculated is at which hashrate and in which time how many coins are generated. the result is converted into btc value.

they make a list of most profitable coins using these parameters

they sort the list, most profitable on top.

the pop off the top one... thats what they are going to mine.

the multipool has a lot of hashing power ( middlecoin over 22ghash ).. they point all that power to the most profitable coin.

the coins are mined in an instant... since diff is low.. they will be mined in an instant

then diff is pushed way up on the ladder. they do a recalc.. now another coin is more profitable. so they leave and go mine the other coin.

rinse and repeat....

they autosell the coins on cryptsy ( as we see what is happening now )

they payout in btc to their miners.

multipools are a headache to all coins having fixed retarget number of blocks.

a solution is kgw, however, this will not keep the multipools away... they will still mine a couple of blocks when diff is low.

see the sell orders at cryptsy ( the sell orders that dump right into the buy orders).

however, multipools can also be beneficial since they provide a better distribution of the coins to you and me.

Some of you are new to trading and complaining about not buying leaf at such and such price. There is much more to it then mining and dumping for chump change. Or watching a youtube video on Bitcoin and thinking you got the art of it. Leaf is cheap now its cheap in the 20s. This is an investment not a trade. Buy leaf and hold. Get out and spread the word. Go visit your local nursery and tell them about leaf. Get more people involved. I believe in mcg he is sincere in what he's trying to do. We should all follow and help him grow this coin.

There are millions of activists that are willing to put full support behind saving the rainforest, plant a tree, keep the world green. I for one think this is one of the nicest project anyone can take part of from ground level. But mcg can't do it alone. He needs all our support. Think of ways to bring this coin to the light of others. Getting them to invest just a few dollars ($5, $10, etc) will help us all.
