OK, I traced all the code from creation of a PoS block to acceptance of a local/remote generated PoS block, to reorganization of the block chain on orphaned PoS blocks. Everything seems to be in order. Maybe there was a multithread locking bug somewhere and your wallet was confused as a result of it. Under normal circumstances, you shouldn't have any problems.

First, backup your wallet.dat.

Open your wallet, enter debug console, and run "checkwallet". It will check if there are any inconsistencies between known blockchain and your wallet. It may be helpful. If it finds anything, you can run "repairwallet" and it will sync them. I think it will find your 1M coins

Also redownloading blockchain may help you, but try checkwallet first and let us know what happened. It may help us understand the source of the problem.

thanks

@5flags Can you also run checkwallet and report its results ?

Ahhh, found your problem. Do you have coins in stake?

40 days ago you received 2M
20 days ago, you minted 22k coins -- it works by sending out 2M, and receiving a little more in 2 transactions; 1M + 1M
Today, as 20 days passed, one of those 1M transactions generated a PoS block, it spent the 1M and would receive 500k+500k + 11k minted coins. Confirmed says FALSE, so it means the transaction is not accepted by the blockchain yet (It won't be confirmed until 50 blocks pass, during that time, you cannot spend the original 1M as it's already spent, and you cannot spend the newly generated 500k+500k+11k as it didn't arrive yet). But you should see the missing 1M in Stake

Please check it

HELP!!! missing mint coin

I opened my wallet today and it shows half of my original amount. But there have been no transactions out.

The block explorer is showing the correct balance, but it also shows 2 tranaction that don't appear in my wallet software. Can anyone help?

This is shown in wallet

it is better to NOT pump the price up higher and beyond MINT's infrastructure can support. We need to keep adding merchants and keep adding services. If the price is low right now it is not necessarily bad. The good thing I see is that MINT has already endured a bear market, and is now basically "flat-lining" and establishing a Solid Floor. Once the momentum starts to turn to the upside, it could really take off again. There really is very little holding MINT down right now. Just be glad Mintcoin is very undervalued right now, and take the time to establish life-long positions. This is the time to be telling your friends and family, to get a good hold in early. I am beginning to sense that the majority of the Mintcoin holders now are long-term investors and that it is only up from here, but will still take time. Mintcoin is likely to be a coin for more mature, calculating investor types.

My gut feel is that there will be a point in the future where MINT will explode in price. That point in time is not far from now and it won't go down from that point. The value will eventually catch up with the infrastructure and this will cause the price to skyrocket.

As a security point of view.

A coin that is mostly located on Exchanges is a weak POS

To POS to be secure in the begining has to have a good interest, just like mining if not nobody will mine.

If theres a POS coin where nobody is staking, is easier to an attacker to take oportunity.

Low interest POS coins will fail as Low rewards POW coins will.

Is the same effect.

Look for it on your home directory under:

 Library/Application Support/MintCoin/wallet.dat

First of all, save that file!!!!

First of all, save that file!!!!

that's normally what i do with lmy old macbook
but i have a new mac now with osx mavericks
and in library/application support there's no more mintcoin folder

i've dezipped the new wallet and simply drop it in the app folder
to overwrite the old one just like the hirocoin wallet i've just done before
( i checked my coins were there )
i must admit this is not my kind of methods but it's a friend of mine
who told me that ... he 's got a osx mavericks like me and just uptdated
the mint and hiro wallet like that with no problem ...

fukin mavericks osx hides me my wallet folder and .dat

Yes, I believe Mavericks is different in many ways. Here are 2 ways to make it work that I use:

1. Open up finder, then up the top of the screen click on Go > Go to Folder, and type in ~/Library/Application Support
2. For a more permanent solution to showing the Library open the Terminal app and type < chflags nohidden Library > Now you can search for your wallet file in the finder.

I hope this helps. If not I will try to help you more if possible.
Thanks.

There is nothing to dezip on mac image file. Just double click to mount it and drag your wallet app to applications folder. Smiley

For files:

1.) Click the Finder icon on the dock
2.) press Command+SHIFT+"G" to "Go to the folder"
3.) Input "~/Library" and hit RETURN.
From there you can navigate to Application Support -> Mintcoin.

ok

you're right it was the hirocoin wallet that was zipped
anyway

i downloaded onyx a nice and smart app for osx
that allows you to clean and do some maintenance inn the os

it also permits you to see and "unhide" the hidden files /folders
so i saw a hidden library folder hidden in /user which
containts the application support folder and ... oh yes
my wallet folders !

the blkindex.dat file which causes the wallet crash is also here
along with a wallet.dat file
