It was a decision that made the XDNA project community and not the sole developers. In Discord there was a vote and the majority voted for this option!

Yep! It was posted on Discord on 14th Sept, that's more than a month ago. Until the date of the fork (28/10/2018) 1,5 months will have passed.
It's worth mentioning that the promised implementation time was 1-3 months.

Also worth mentioning is the vote results from the community, 89.5% were positive votes. All our social media including this forum were updated so that the whole XDNA community could be informed and take part in the voting.
We hope that this change will increase the XDNA's project and alongside the release of our platforms our early supports will be rewarded.

Already know how to reduce the size of the reward masternode after a hard fork? I wonder what will now be the profitability of the coin?

After the hard fork the block rewards will be reduced by 7% every month during a period of 24 months.
It's a slow reduction, similar to the halving of other coins, but instead of a huge reduction every year or so, XDNA will do it in small steps every month.

If you deduct 7% every month, then you end up with a 58,14% reduction after 1 year (compared to the today's block reward). This way you won't notice a sudden drop in the profitability and there should be enough time for the price to catch up.

Lately more people had heard about XDNA with new collaborations with 3rd party services and an increased activity in this thread, however the price was stable. I believe this means that many investors were waiting to see if the team would stick with their roadmap and keep updating the project.

With the fork coming soon and the new wallets already ready to be downloaded and our updated site ready to be released in a few days, I believe many sow that XDNA is a serious project with a team that is working hard no matter the coin's price.
It would make sense for these updates to bring in more investors, therefore some people decided to jump in first and that boosted XDNA's price. I'm sure more growth will follow as the team keeps updating the software and releases new stuff which increase the usability of XDNA.
