If the cards haven't actually been printed yet, a very large consensus of people in IRC have agreed "Once you go black..." is needed to be changed. I don't keep up with this thread so I'm not sure if that spilled over here, but Soepkip was in on the discussions and has some ideas. I love everything about the card except for that slogan on it, it's sophomoric.

Will the software installed on the USB key be Open Source? can we have a look at the code?

No..it is a commercial product. I do not want every coin developer copying and pasting the code, and then recreating what we have done. However, you do not have to run the software included. You can just load the standard wallet alone and lose the custom start up menu, it is your choice. The start menu is just launcher that gives you access to everything associated with BC, it also can auto update the wallet when a new version is released.

if people cant review the code, who can we be sure it doesnt have a backdoor?

Crypto is here because FOSS Free Open Souce Software, i will never use a non open source wallet. Nor work in a closed form manner, thats not the spiryt of crypto

Before posting please take a few minutes and read the previous posts. This has been covered extensively. The wallet is NOT closed source, just the menu launcher. you CAN remove all of the pre-loaded software and replace it with anything you desire.

I want to point out the menu launcher is not open source, that was created in house. However, the wallet is open source and no changes were made to the wallet. Just think of when you insert a CD for the first time for a new graphics card, usually a cool menu pops up and then you are able to make selections..etc..etc. Well it is the same thing. However, the menu is related to everything BC.

Personally, I would put BlackCoin Wallet Card in place of Accepted Worldwide. It doesn't actually say on the card itself, what it really is. All credit/debit cards do say on them that they are a "credit, debit" card. In this case, it should stick out on it, that it's a WALLET CARD. Or maybe put it in front, leaving the "accepted worldwide" as it is. Just my 2 cents

I totally agree. I think that the concept & literal and metaphoric application of BlackCoin Wallet Card is suggestive of the exclusive VISA Black credit card associated with elite individuals. However, the bc wallet card has more of a sexy, yet distinguished, vibe which proves to be more aesthetically appealing and desirable, especially to those not too familiar with crypto currency/technology etc.
I imagine removing this card from my wallet in front of my newly acquired 2 hot Asian girlfriends downtown Los Angeles to buy them ice cream after I order and receive my blackcoin wallet card and BC prices have soared pass $30 USD.

LOL!  Well, as someone who lives here (and actually is a 40 year native of the Vegas valley) I can tell you that's never going to happen.  Not unless BC represents about 30 Billion USD in market cap.  All casinos, but especially premier properties like the Wynn, Bellagio, Caesars Palace, etc. spend huge amounts of money and marketing to make sure they're sharing the spotlight with no one.  Now if we get to the point that someone like myself with just a few 100K worth of BC represents what we consider a whale (and in this city, you get that distinction only after dropping $500K+ in a single night on the tables)... I'll be more than happy to develop a team and make some presentations.

As it is, our 'brand' ranks about 5,000,000 places below Monster (drinks or cables you take your pick), Sony, Nike, Gucci, etc... and even they are only allowed to co-brand or advertise on things like the monorail, special events, or retail outlets in very specific areas.  Everything else will always have only the property logo/name.

I'm not saying it can't ever happen, and I'm certainly not saying I wouldn't love it... but in this town even a decent sized bar or convenience store pulls in 10-15% of BC's entire market cap every month on gaming (I have a friend with a 7-Eleven franchise who averages about $18K/mo just on 6 video poker machines).  

By way of contrast Bellagio makes slightly more than BC's market cap in a 24hr period.


... All that being said, I do like the way you think - we're just not quite to that level yet. And you will only get one change in that market... if you're lucky.

Lol, couldn't agree with you more: the thought wildly over-reaches a more sober and realistic sense of present limits. Nonetheless, where crypto and the world are now is one thing. Where it all might go, quite another. It could be bigger, and arrive sooner, than any of us might now suppose. I advocate thinking big from the get go. It can happen that by attempting the impossible you attain - if not exactly what you set out to do - something much better. Glad to hear you agree at least with the style of thinking.
