I hope the "CEO" is paying Micryon damn well, because he has single handedly bolstered the confidence in this project.

I guess it's still good to start mining at 1 GPUC, It would make huge price start! Good for trading.

Launch Update: The wallet will be available on Saturday but the first 2600 blocks

Whats the point!!!!

Everyone will simply wait until the 2600 blocks are mined. duh...

But i suppose there is a reason for this and to protect the ipo members.. If so then rock on..

The point is to get all pools setup ahead of time, and have everything running smoothly ahead of real mining start.  So you'll be able to be on pools at the theoretical "block 1".  Everyone gets a fair shot.

And if there is trouble between saturday->sunday.  We can debug/restart it without really affecting anyone since sunday is the real mining launch..

It is both a conservative and fair approach to coin launches..

Good point, Thanks. But doesn't fill me with confidence.. Exchange prices will be nice and high anyway, but i do see your point.

Do we also have a countdown timer to exact start time. Would be nice..

You should not buy a warrant unless you are prepared to sustain a total loss of the money you have invested plus any commission or other transaction charges

It won't as some IPO will start dumping their millions of gpucoins

actually this advance wallet is also some way for the ipo to do some exclusive trading... in a "fair" way

right, because the IPOs have absolutely NO INTEREST in the GPUCoin Retail Store! It makes perfect sense, because this is just another pump and dump scam coin!

... do you get my sarcasm, or do really believe that this coin is nowhere near the frontline of cryptocurrency innovation?

Some just don't get, that IPO is for profit. Invest, cash out. First its profit for the scammers called "devs" then for the few idiots that bought in and are lucky enough to cash out before the dump crashes in.

And then the scammers called "devs" tell bullshit about bounty and investments for the coin yet have not been fucking able to launch a coin without failing several times in a row.

A fair coin has no premine let alone an IPO. A fair coin launches equal for everyone (reward model can be debatted). But people don't want fair coins, they want cash quick, fuck the coin if it brigs profit they would mine rotten horseshit it if brings enough bitcoins at dump time.

Everyone who says, you need premines/IPO for investments in the coin is a fucking liar, because a successfull coin can cover everything up with donations. And this "exclusively cheap GPU buyers club" is just another part of the scam that people fall for: You supposed to get "exclusively cheap GPUs" but meanwhile everyone in the trade chain profits from your money.

look, this coin has been through numerous launches, a well known fact, of course. but you cant simply hold that fact against the entire team, when most of the team has been introduced after the fact. Hell, cryptowest was brought onto a sinking ship! GPUCoin is attempting to back itself by tangible products. The IPOs have invested in those products, so to dump the coins, is to dump the value of those products. Im a miner, I can hold, I can trade or exchange, but to be able to mine a coin that is backed by the very product I use to mine the coin is like holding stock in that product. I dont give a shit how many launches it takes, this coin must be introduced to the cryptocommunity.

I doubt we will get out IPO coins until the true block reward happens.  Or close to it anyway.  This is not the first time a soft launch like this has happened, and hopefully it will not be the last.

For those of you complaining about not being able to solo a bunch of coins at launch, the KGW would pretty much prevent that anyway.  The (to my understanding anyway) style of launch is to prevent any technical issues from the network being bombarded straight away.  If it is a benefit to the IPO or DEV's financially I am not sure how.

Exactly right.. it'll help since pools will act as seednodes and registered by the DNS.. so no more addconf hassle either.  Should all just work out of the box.

But people definitely have some valid points: learned that during maxcoin launch.  Hey if you know how to compile linux, play around with conf files, solo mine.. you had a HUGE advantage over people that had to wait for pools.. not exactly what i'd call fair (even though i took advantage of it).

ok I guess it is a good point: finally a coin for people not knowing anything about computer... they have been waiting for it for a very long time.

The problem in your model is that there is no reason anymore to be there at launch (a pool, you can join it anytime, now or in a week won't change that much even if the diff increase). At some point you might (or other coins following your logic) just end up without any hashrate at all.

This coins sucks seriously but it so fun to follow it  Cheesy Cheesy

WHY??? Valid reasons please!!

I also do NOT solo mine and only pool mine. As never able to successfully setup a solo mine or never had the time to sit down and configure it for that purpose. As i have the miner on different system to my wallets. its never easy.

I don't see it as a good thing to wait around a forum for launch...

I wouldn't worry about sustaining hashrates.. that is defined more by the value add the coin brings.. not by any launch procedure.

If hashrates really does end up being defined by launch procedure, then it's really just a pump and dump coin: big guys who want an advantage, mine it first day/few hours.. get the easy rewards... then leave.. Seen that many times...

Ultimately not good for the long term potential of a coin.  The more evenly distributed a coin is across a broader breadth of people, the better it will be, and more valuable it will be.. (imo at least).

Wow.... anger issues man. Its a free market. If there are coins with IPOs and there are people looking forward to mine it still, then that is their decision right? You are like a Government trying to make a "rule" that coins cannot do IPOs, and any coin that does so must be stopped. I'm loving the fact that you don't have the power to do so Smiley And please don't say you're here to save the noobs from getting burnt. Go to therapy or something...
