I would love to know, who is the "sisters" company that is "already" filling stocks with GPUs?
I dont know, but for me, this is again get rich quick scheme for devs..

they have their premine and yet want to sell cards bought for btc gained from selling premine Cheesy
so they cant go wrong but what this gives to crypto? I am affraid, nothing much.. Only once they start dumping premine, price will go to dust.. good luck all who is holding and mining this..

Getting tired of these scamcoins  Sad I'll keep mining but once things start sounding fishy I'll be jumping ship.

I'm super hesitant at this point to get onboard any new scrypt or sha256 coin. Scrypt-n seems like the most promising at the moment.

Will there be better algos in the future? Most likely, but this is what we've got for now. Scrypt-n seems more...exotic, compared to plain scrypt coins.

this is by far the most unrewarding coin i've ever mined.
since the 2600 block i've only got 140 unconfirmed coins.

the failed launches, people having payout issues, the switch to -n after taking ipo money, no refund for the ipo, IPO coins haven't been paid..
completely frustrated with gpucoin!

The payout issues is dedicated to some pools, not the coin. The IPO-Investors HAD the chance to refund their money in BTC, but only a few took the chance. What is your problem? You can change to any coin you want, if you dislike GPU-Coin...

The failed launches is past, the Launch yesterday was smooth and good...

Your only frustratet because you got a (small) bad GPU to mine i think...
Agreed.  Yesterday's launch was uber smooth.  Best launch I've been a part of.  I've mined over 4000 GPUC with another 1000GPUC unconfirmed.

I'm very excited about this coin.  I hope the store will sell the new 290x Lightning cards when they are available.

Hahaha, uber smooth? Are you from USA? Im a german guy and heard that in america the german word "Über" is used for cool things... Did you mean über with uber smooth?

People who is having trouble with pools, try a p2pool, better payments and lower fees.

First find a node near to you (ping t check latency and choose the lowest)

http://gpuscanner.qemulab.com/

Then connect to the node using the ip/address plus your wallet address:

Ex: vertminer.exe -o 95.51.143.9:9404 -u "your Gpucoin address" -p xxx [vertminer settings]

It takes sometime to start seeing payments, in our case 30 to 60 minutes.

One Important thing is NOT to use an exchange wallet address, download your own, you will receive a ton of payments since you don't decide when to withdraw, instead you receive a payment per block. This means you may have to wait days if you send them directly to an exchange.

Also by using p2pool you avoid the 51% network problem, since is a decentralized pool

If you love n-factor scrypt, go to VTC.. that coin is superb, has devoted devs and NO premine.
but if you are really into something new, go to Myraid coin.. I felt in love with this coin yesterday and its great.. 5 different algos, each own difficulty.. everyone can mine it, even asic owners, but best part out of it? Each algo has its own difficulty! So if sha256 and scrypt algos are dominated with asics, you can still mine skein, grosetl and qubit algo on that coin on your GPU and still earning same share as scrypters or 256ers.. Smiley that is coin with inovation for me, not this scam saying ppl we will ship you cheap cards.. blah blah.. haha

i did the math wrong
first pool was allpoolz and now im on xhash
allpoolz dropped 10 workers from 25 right after i left. find it weird that even with their lower hash power vs xhash that we didn't find anything at all for a payout.
guess the key for -n is stick with the largest pool you can find.

You cant count the problem of some pools to the GPUCoin. Its only the pools problem, not the coin.

It seems with a redownloaded Block-Chain those transactions get confirmed slowly, there are probably multiple forks in the network which seem to re-merge later.

Its a problem that hashrate is so uneven spread, one pool as almost 80% of the network.

Please wait a few hours until your payouts get confirmed, if they are still not confirmed by this evening I'll look into it again.

So the coin has only been truly launched since 6 hours ago and people are already:

-quitting because it's too hard

-bitching about price not good enough

-calling it a scam

?

Thanks for the help so far. My wallet won't sync though Sad 0 out of 3190 blocks, the blk*.dat filesize goes up 1 byte once in a while. Still 8 active connections. Any way to get an up to date block chain elsewhere?

You can always mine some other coin, dump it for BTC and then buy GPUcoin if you feel like it will reward your hw more

Tell me what other coin was already on big exchanges and had a nice price 6 hours after launch?

The 2 first reasons seems to be pretty good reason to me to stop mining.

Wtf? There's nothing better than that! 99% of coins released here are instamined, then within a day, dumped to death. That can't happen with this coin. Yes it might take a while to earn but that's good for the value of the coin in the long term. If you don't want to mine it don't but you might regret it later when you could've had a few GPUs worth.
