Id like to thank the DEV/OP/CEO of GPU coin for wasting my fucking time for 36 to 48 hours and costing me 8 pounds in electricity.
Having seen the network difficulty drop to 8 Ive pulled out.

I doubt very much that this coin is anything but another scam. Im sorry to hear that everyone who has invested has lost their money.

However Id like to make the point that I am mining Litecoin from now on, all day every day, and if it wasnt for Dogecoin I wouldnt of looked at another alt coin, now Ive made that mistake (Mint,Flappy, GPUcoin) I wont be wasting any more time.

Lets close the ALTcoins secion of the forum, stop any more launches and help to maintain the value of the coins that matter ie. PPC, BTC,. Feather and of course Litecoin.

Lets not get scammed again peeps, its salt in old wounds now.

See ya later DoctorG! 280x, here I come!

Maybe if trying to give address so people give you coins...they don't allow giveaways, they can even close down the thread if there are give-aways happening

I still think the price of electricity is pretty much the only thing that will determine the price of this coin for now. This is because you can make more coins for that cost in the near future.
As there is huge variation on the price of electricity, even 1c difference in kWh will make a 5-15% difference in the purchase price of the graphics card.

Still, there is one even bigger issue we haven't seen much talk about. It's the fact that anyone could start selling whatever hardware or goods for GPUCoin right now!
And in a sense it already happens. Just check out how many GPUCoins you need to convert to BTC to buy a 400usd graphics card at TigerDirect: 400usd = 0.63BTC = 2.1m at 30 sat.

So buy up all the GPUCoins and then you can control the price. At the current price 13 billion coins will set you back 6200 graphics cards, 2.5M usd or the sole use of a large nuclear power plant output for an hour ;-)

You see, this again is what my idea is missing from this coin, if the director would listen to me, then he and everyone else could make bundles.

Why all people here belives people would sell mined GPUC coins on break-even electricity costs price? Or I am not getting you...?
Why not mine than LTC, and buy the GPUC?

For me the simple forumla for the current fair price of a coin is:

Code:
Coins you can mine per day with 1 MH / Current daily price for 1 MH on betarigs.com (summarizing the most money you can get for your hashing power for one day)

He didn't refused, he just didn't reply. But to be fair i never told him the full idea. just asked a question. Maybe he didn't want to reveal anything to me either. Which i understand. To be honest, i think i am just going to start my own coins and then put the plan into place. I will be getting back to the people today, who PM'd me recently.

you keep on mining it buddy, it keeps the litecoin difficulty lower Smiley
4737.9 is lower? Really? If you think this is lower wait until the scrypt asics show up.

Everyone can decide it himself, whether this coin is scam or not. But it's for sure that GPU coin CEOs activity is quite different in this thread before launch and atm. There're simply no positive news from creator of this coin, lack of PR can kill coin faster than dumps from miners.

I just noticed the crappy thread title.  Why is it so plain and short?  What's going on Mr. CEO? Would you walk into a store/restaurant that has no description on the outside of the building?

Glad I keep up with this thread. I found this little GOLDEN TIP!!!  All of my 280xs were running at 270kh, hadnt had time to really work on it but the few changes didnt help.  Dropped engine down to 1000 did it! All 12 GPUs im pointing at this coin are now humming at 350, thanks!

I use 4 x asus 280x direct CUII tops and get on average 367kh a card.  If you would like to possibly increase your hash rate download this miner which is the aleks_nr3 cgminer for vert https://www.dropbox.com/s/d771ipmoud651oo/vertcoin.rar  I use this miner with no issues on any N-adaptive coin and so far it has proven to give the best hash rates for me over any other miner including vertminer and the other so called specialised miners for such coins as ultra and exe coin.

I also use this line in a bat file which may be beneficial to use with aleks cgminer which will happily run four cards nicely with temps at an average of 79c.

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://gpu.oakpool.com:3355 -u user -p password -I 13 -w 256 -g 2 --gpu-reorder --thread-concurrency 8192 --gpu-engine 1060 --gpu-memclock 1500 --gpu-powertune 0 --gpu-vddc 1.100 --temp-target 80 --auto-fan --failover-only -o stratum+tcp://west1.us.stratum.dedicatedpool.com:3367 -u user -p password

If this is helpful in any way to anyone please feel free to donate to so i can get some more GPU's  aleks_nr3 is a bitch to get hold of now as well Smiley

Agree with this post, though I have heard of people getting higher hashrates with the adaptive N factor fork of sgminer at the cost of higher temperatures. [ http://www.reddit.com/r/VertcoinMining/comments/1zxyuh/how_i_got_an_extra_50khs_with_sgminer/ ] I still use the Aleks miner.

FYI, the cgminer --gpu-vddc flag does not work for R9 series cards. I use Sapphire TRIXX to undervolt my cards before starting the miner. Reduced wattage reading from a Kill-a-watt and GPU-Z used to verify.
I did wonder why cgminer was always reporting it at 1.2v when it should of said lower.  Thanks.

The good thing is that total volumes at exchanges seem to be much smaller than IPO. So there was no massive dump of IPO coins. There is a chance that we'll see some really entertaining scene when unexpected pump happen.  Grin
