now that newegg is selling 280x's for $300 and 290 tri-X's for $500 will the gpus at the webstore be any cheaper than they are in the op?
you know that a store needs to make a profit, don't you ? (and selling below the price you pay for it is pretty bad... have no idea what is the profit made over a card, but I am pretty sure it is not that much...)

BUT, because everyone wants to buy GPUC to get these GPUS, prices are gonna slowly push up. Which is fine for the buyers, until it hits $500 per 100k GPUC. So say that it gets to about $450 per 100k GPUC before they change the store prices to reflect what they've set. Now it's back to $400. Repeat process ad infinitum.

Now I'm PRETTY SURE that the whole quote war above is ignoring the whole "will adjust prices to reflect market equivalence" not being a one off when the store launches.

That's a good analysis but keep in mind that the GPUCoin store will sell the coins form the purchase after they recieve them, at a much higher price. And if they play it smart and sell the coins in small chucks so the market can buy them then they will earn way more. Like purchase price 40 sat but when they unload the coins the price might be 42, 45, 50 sat, prices where they make an instant profit!

Exactly, but i hope i am wrong about my thoughts and GPU coins does something completely different.

Exciting times.

Keep up the good work GPUcoin Team.. I will still be here all the way with you.

That didn't really occur to me. I like when upper management has incentives similar to investors to raise the price  Wink

I'm not speaking for them official but that seems a very logical method. A dump method is way less profitable tbh...

Not sure if the devs know, but spoke to coinmarketcap and they said the issue with the GPU coin on their site is:

'The coins's block explorer is malfunctioning': http://explorer2.sancrypto.info/chain/GPUCoin/q/totalbc

Store still on schedule for launch Sunday? Definitely curious to see how he lays out the prices and stuff, especially with GPU prices going down somewhat on major storefronts.

I thought GPU prices were gonna be whatever the market equivalent in GPUc was?

Or has that been changed?

current market value of the coin and cards are priced lower than retail.
not sure what some of these guys are babbling about, they must not have been keeping up to date.

Clearly you don't understand what "some of these guys are babbling about"
What they were saying is: GPU's will be sold at GPUc's MARKET EQUIVALENT in BTC.

said that.  but some people are thinking that the store will set their own price separate from the market value.

I guess they're hoping the price could be artificially stabilized. True if there weren't exchanges.

Did some math, according to my calculations:
Code:
From the gpucoin.net IPO page: if you donated 1 BTC, You got 4544315.36376778 coins, right?
So 1 coin value is 1/4544315.36376778 = 0.000000220055 BTC

So technically, GPUCoin value will never be lower than 22 satoshi, as this is the amount backed up by IPO BTC donations?
Please someone confirm that this is correct.

False, it will be whatever the market (public) sets it at. If flooders hit the market super low, that'll dive the price.
