This may be of interest to the GPU Coin community. I was looking for a loan for myself and then I saw this and was like WTF? What is going on with CEO Jaymes?

https://btcjam.com/listings/11382

I guess he is trying to get more money to keep the business a float?

I've said it before. He needs to sell scrypt miners alongside the gpus. I reckon many miners are satisfied with their gpus and aren't necessarily looking to buy more or upgrade, but scrypt miners are hot right now. I have one and in fact, I'd buy another from the gpucoin store if they had one listed  . . . .

Variety always beats a single selection.

Hi all! Happy upcoming Easter to all of You!

I would like to claim Linux wallet bounty. There is no bullshitware in this app as I'm not familiar with wallet code, so its unchanged original code and I compiled it from latest git sources on Ubuntu 12.04 32 bit. Damn boost libraries, had to put in a lot of effort to compile wallet... Cheesy I did a test receive and send transaction, seems to work. I sent coins from faucet to first user with GPUC address in signature that I found from the end of this thread. All operating system info and proof that it's working is in screenshot.

If someone does not know, wallet.dat is in hidden folder in your home folder. (see screenshot)

I would like to receive my bounty on this address: GaHCtiCNPFM1Nqf3YkcRNV4kq3pLNMnozS
Also, tips welcome as well, as I spent more than 2 hours on this Cheesy

Download link: https://mega.co.nz/#!iJRjEYCQ!6jknsjFskISIEeeyNKkKZei8pVRVModMx3_1ItlUC1E

P.S. Whoever is running GPUC faucet from home page, something is wrong with deposit address as I was not enable to send coins back. Wallet seems to not accept that address.
P.P.S. From now on, I accept Linux wallet compilation requests for BTC. PM if interested.

Lol !

By some accidence I saw the bounty and was going to claim it today even while I am in this thread for more than a month. But, first to come, first to serve Wink
Anyway, next time when you have hard times with compiling wallets under linux you can just use my own python script, which need literaly inputing the Git URL and then is doing everything alone: https://asktom.cf/index.php?topic=498746.0

Thanks for tips, everyone! Smiley

@pastet89 - I didn't had problems with Linux and compiling, I had problems with boost dependencies and they are not on Ubuntu officially (at least the versions this wallet use), so I had to compile boost from source as well Cheesy but I will definitely check Your post out Wink

EDIT: I have compiled some other wallets for myself and never had so much problems as with this one.

GPU Coin P2Pool
Wallet update GPUCoin 0.8.7.2

address: stratum+tcp://international.servehttp.com:9404
Username: your GPUCoin address
Passoword:  Does not matter, anything!

Status p2pool:
http://international.servehttp.com:9404/static/

Recommended Settings:

cgminer -o stratum+tcp://international.servehttp.com:9404 -u YourSpaincoinAddress -p x --expiry 1 --scan-time 1 --queue 0
P2Pool shares expire within 10 seconds, this is why you see "stratum requesting work restart" so often

To reduce stales, reduce your intensity. The payouts are higher when keeping intensity below 18 due to more accepted shares.

LOL. I wish I had noticed there was a Linux wallet bounty; I've been running it for several days.  I am so used to boost errors when compiling that I edit makefiles before even trying, now.

I hope this doesn't end up in the 1 satoshi graveyard.
I doubt it. Remember this is scrypt-n. I already see Asics ruining scrypt and people migrating
to scrypt-n coins.  I think the price is very low now due to bitcoin being so low as well as the
whole alt coins being diluted by 5 new coins every day.  Most of them will fail, but GPU coin
should be one that survives due to the store having a real use for the coin.  I think a lot of
marketing needs to be done, but when that and Mintpal or Cryptsy has GPU coin, I can see a
huge upside potential.

Congrats, gpucoin has now made it to 1 satoshi on poloniex! Cheesy Maybe Jaynes should just switch to something like blackcoins or whitecoins instead?

That's true with pandacoins too but doesn't make it anymore of a good investment before getting delisted from mintpal's btc market.

Yes. But Pandacoins have no purpose.
I know we are not doing well, but if Jaymes takes the advises I sent him and keep this business running in the next 2-3 months, just wait and see what will happen to GPUcoin when ASICs get shipped and first, people turn to scrypt-n and X11 and second, the hype for GPUmining as well as the demand for GPUs skyrocket again...

Well, it's not clear whether GPU Coin has any purpose, bought a card from the store a week ago — haven't received it yet. Not a single e-mail from them, and they're not answering my e-mails.. Embarrassed Might be a scam after all. First card bought 2 weeks ago was delivered pretty fast though, but back then they were also sending out e-mails with tracking numbers and stuff. This time no contact and no card.

I am sure Jaymes is busy and you will get the card. If he was a scammer he should have run with the IPO funds away even in the begining.

I am sure Jaymes is busy and you will get the card. If he was a scammer he should have run with the IPO funds away even in the begining.
But that would be too obvious and would've made quite a few enemies. A better scam requires wearing out victims over time, making it look like it's not a scam but like things just honestly didn't work out somehow, like there were problems in real life, not enough experience and a bunch of other excuses.. while in process the scammer gets away with not all but still considerable amount of money with less risks for him than if he'd just disappear after collecting the initial IPO funds. A lot of investors and miners lose interest over time and reconcile with their losses, others would've believed that the failure was natural and not planned from the start and would also move on.. it's still a simple scheme and a lot safer than to just get away with all the money from the start.

I do hope though that it's not a scam and the card will be shipped after all. Smiley Quite a few cards were sold a week ago when the price spiked up so I don't think I'm the only one waiting for mine.

Scammers usually don't start a LLC company and post their picture on the internet and video of them on youtube.
I doubt Jaymes is a scammer, but he has some real credibility issues because of his lack of posting here.
