Hey Dale,

Firstly, no, it probably won't work running without unzipping first.
Secondly, you shouldn't need to edit the .conf unless you're mining from the wallet (which would be weird anyway)

I've seen this reported a few times where it's get stuck on a certain block, have a look and see what block it's stuck on (in console, getinfo) and then search this thread for that block and see if it's the same as previously reported can you....

I'm switched back to linux which is the first time since I've been in this crypto game, JUST got Zeit wallet to run so wish me luck too Wink

Cheers mate. I tried Getinfo but it said it couldn't access the wallet.dat so I guess it's a wallet file problem. I'll delete my.conf file and try that. It works if I delete my backup wallet and use a new one but I ain't throwing that away! haha, will see if this works. Cheers.

People how to mint. I have mint option inactive -- in gray color. Both Mint Lock and Mint Unlock.
I updated wallet and I am really sorry for my 11M Zeits (from first week of mining) not mining. THx, for help

Eeeekk, scary.
There are commands to repair/recover a wallet file, but I'd suggest letting the wallet get fully synced up first with a new wallet and then swap the wallet.dat files and see if it stay's synced (crosses fingers).

Did you encrypt your wallet (put a password on it)?

If not, there's nothing to 'unlock' as you didn't 'lock' it in the first place.

How long have you had coins in your wallet since your last send?

Hi, I supported this coin from the start, tried to make some BTCs (arbitraging this double-priced alts, then realised there are hack) to enlarge my Zeit amount and lost everything on CryptoRush because there are no BTC withdrawals anymore (11M value of Zeit). Also I lost 4M on coinex. Could community donate to me?

Now I am zero-zeit.

From first week of mining. I already minted something but only after I sent half of them to cryptsy and than back to my wallet.

There are commands to repair/recover a wallet file, but I'd suggest letting the wallet get fully synced up first with a new wallet and then swap the wallet.dat files and see if it stay's synced (crosses fingers).

Well that was a close call...

It turns out my wallet.dat backup is erm, fooked. The repairwallet command can't access the wallet either and it's nowt to do with the password on it. It's just goosed.

Fortunately I kept an earlier backup with getinfo can read and is now syncing. The dangers of Crypto! That would have been 548 million ZEIT lost. At the moment my unconfirmed is showing 414 million ZEIT will the newer ones be picked up when the blocks sync do you think?

CLOSE CALL!!!!!

there's a 'recover' wallet command too I believe and I think that's the one that worked for someone Smiley
Yes, as the wallet catches up to the blocks that carry your coins they'll get confirmed and the confirmations on those transactions will increase.

Gotta remember, the coins aren't "in" your wallet, they only exist on the chain, all the wallet's doing is seeing them in the chain and able to transfer them by use the private keys in the wallet.

Hope it all works out for you and it's a good reminder to keep several regular backups of your private keys. I prefer paper wallets for long term storage, we're better at secure a physical item then a computer file as we've been doing it for centuries Smiley

I appreciate your help :O)

Can I create a paper wallet from my PC wallet... I think I've just had a brain wave. You have to send to an address created online with the block explorer and send the coins to that address, am I right? Then it can be printed out off the screen and locked in a safe under the floor boards next to my exe girlfriend?

Sometimes I surprise myself with my lack of aptitude! Of course. I was told to feed her to the pigs to avoid this exact situation. How quick we forget. At least it would be something different to all the hacking scandals :O)
