It's a fact that Dhoni may have poor strike rate but whom else do you think fir for that position, with all of his experiences, tactics? You know there's no other option. Kartik will barely play better than Dhoni. KL Rahul isn't too performed as well as not experienced. Whom do you think better fit for the place?

Some people just don't understand the importance of MSD which is why they underestimate him whenever he fails and he replies in an epic manner always.

There are a lot more important factors when compared to strike rate like Dhoni's experience(He freaking lifted a World cup in both formats), amazing batsman, lightning fast wicket-keeping skills, ability to stay calm and composed and the list goes on. Kohli is lucky to have by his side!

And don't forget in the field, most of the time you will see Dhoni is actively advising the players. Kholi is the official captain but in the field Dhoni's role is more than a captain.

Check IPL performance of RCB. RCB has a very strong team. All are performer but why are they failing. Bad management, bad calling. Kohli takes bad decision and we are seeing the result already. They are out from the tournament losing 7 matches out of the 8 so far if I am not wrong.

Yes, you are right why they are failing nobody don't know even though they have consistent with a lot of experience in many matches. Even at the batting side, Kohli is failing to make runs, yes Dhoni is actively participating in every aspect of teams winning.

This isn't justice. He is performing well from his position and deserves a chance in the world cup team. Racism? I don't think it's a good decision, at least from the perspective of sports since sport should be the way of increasing bond towards other nation.
Imrul Kayes from Bangladesh was also not picked for the world cup team while he was one of the top scorer in the last few ODIs. He had a good performance. It's because of the internal politics though.

Bumrah was at the top from a long period of time and I am not surprised at all. Just look at his bowling performance in the current IPL season. Batsmen fear his unorthodox style and his yorkers and death bowling features are some of the best in the world currently.

Both sides have decent arguments and reasons.

Those In favor of jofra saying that he's talented individual and England can use his talent in the world so he should be in the team. (selectors) guess not majority

The one opposing the argument got solid reason as well. They are saying that most of the players preparing for world since last 2 years... playing and winning the matches for England and selection committee can't just airdrop any player out of the blue and ditch other players like this. With this move they are sending wrong signals to players.

Politics in cricket is big problem in Indian subcontinent. Here players gets selected due to favoritism. My home team is in bottom in this regard though when selecting players because in India, majority of times only deserving candidates gets the spot.

Looks pretty balanced team, little controversy and different point of view over jofra archer. Selectors want to include him in squad but current players objected that jofra should not play in world cup.

The best player Ireland has ever produced will be captaining England in this tournament (the best Irish pacer also represented England in tests). Leus du Plooy was the most recent player to defect from South Africa to England, under the Kolpak loophole. Currently 43 Kolpak players are representing various English county sides and this has resulted in the quality of South African domestic cricket getting affected.

I don't really see the problem with players from different nations playing for the same team. Every player is free to represent the nation of his choice at the end of the day irrespective of where they are from.

This applies to any sport in the world which is why sports like Cricket, Football etc bring people together.

Tahir mentioned that he would retire from ODIs after the World cup. Good thing that this legend can still play in the IPL though. It will be interesting to see how Du Plessis captains such a diverse mix of incredible talent.

Tahir did the right thing by migrating to South Africa, at a time when South Africa was losing so many of its native-born players to teams such as England and New Zealand. Had he remained in Pakistan, then most probably he would have never got the recognition and fame.

True, English county basically sucked out all juice from proteas - Talent drain just like brain drain- but now these days critics only do damage control with mouth piece, they know that damage is already done.

This is okay team if we forget about their bowling unit.

Amla getting old and getting more slow in odi. He is lucky that his competitor Hendricks didn't performed well. If Amla performs in world cup then it can be treat to watch for spectators because he bats like a genuine traditional batsmen and avoids aerial shots.

Duminy is good but doesn't give much confidence as well.

Wish selectors could fit or at least try to select Chris Morris, he's very handy cricketer in down the order. May be his injury and long gap from international cricket hurt his chances.

Proteas bowling unit is very good and can upset any batting line up.

So not my favorite team for this world cup and I would be very very very very surprised if they managed to reach final or win the world cup.

You already have mentioned. I also felt the necessity of Morich despite Duminy (no longer fit for ODI and T20.)

Duminy didn't preformed well during the recent series against Sri Lanka. To tell the truth, I can't remember the last time when he performed well with the bat. His spin may prove useful, but then we need to remember that the conditions in England at this part of the year are not exactly suitable for his version of spin bowling.

Damn! That is badass. I didn't understand what you meant by Nehru initially, but it all makes sense now. I think you could find Royse or Haunebu in there, but 777 will be missing.

Thanks for the link. Why is the West Indian management taking so long to assemble their squad? Also, the Afghanistan squad is missing too. It is possible that both teams have been given more time since they qualified through the qualification stages in Zimbabwe.

Afghanistan has announced their preliminary 23 member squad. The final squad of 15 members will be announced this week. There are a few very good players announced for the preliminary squad and one of them is Hazratullah Zazai. One negative for Afghanistan is that their pacers are not as good as their spinners. And normally in England the playing XI will be having just one spin bowler.
