It's a Tesla coil powered by a vacuum tube, with a BTC stuck on where the arcs come out. I built this a while ago, so sorry, no process pictures and no story this time.

If you want the schematic, here it is: https://www.stevehv.4hv.org/VTTC1/dual811Aschematic.JPG. I only used 1 tube, and it works pretty well. (It's also really simple; it only has a handful of parts and it cost me $10 to build). Just be careful not to touch anything when it's running, there's a 2000V transformer and you do not want to get shocked by that (seriously, you'll kill yourself). Also note that if you leave it on too long (~15s), the tube will start getting red-hot, which is bad for it.

As always, I'm not responsible for anything bad that happens if you decide to build one yourself.
