What's up with Ethereum?

The market is dull but most of us expected ETH to outperform like it did in first quarter of 2018 post bull run when every crypto coin were going down and even the value of bitcoin was dumped but ETH was steady for a while and not sure why ETH is under hibernation mode nowadays. What might be the reason we don't see much movement in the price of ETH? I know all the altcoins are down but ETH is not same as them but I am unable to figure out the reason why ETH is struck.

Don't try to look for reasons when the price chart shows it all. Although there is no bad news, its price will still be down due to the demand between supply and demand. When the buyer feels that the crowd is not thinking the same way, they will gradually turn to the seller and continue like that, it will create a long red candle. and to solve your questions you should spend money and take TA courses to better understand market volatility.

In the past we saw that there is a difference between the price of a coin and news. Even with Ethereum related good news like increasing usage of Defi and high blockchain usage it doesn't mean the price has to follow. I still think the price will increase again in the future, the time just hasn't come yet.

The general market status is what matters now to people, they are not investing in coins if the market is not bullish so we are seeing a non stable movement for ETH. But think of it and its future, consider ETH as a sleeping giant that are giving us a longer period of opportunity to accumulate, and always use your mind and not your emotion, be realistic and based your future prediction on its past trends and for sure you will be optimistic with the future.

Ethereum experienced a remarkable increase at the end of 2017 and I think the current ethereum conditions are influenced by overall market conditions. Bitcoin, which is a market leader, has decreased prices and transaction value and I think it's natural that ethereum is experiencing this. But ethereum is a good coin and I think the price will recover as the crypto market recovers

The price of ethereum is no still being manipulated. An update should bring great influence on its price. Nothing has been heard from the team pertaining the planned update, but when that comes, there will definitely be a growth much more that it had at the last ATH.

Though updates bring interesting changes in the project but the price of ethereum is not solely dependent on this update. We all know that the prices of bitcoin have sheer affect on the values of all other altcoins whether it is as popular as Ethereum or any other altcoin. What I am expecting is that in the coming days as bitcoin is showing improvement in prices, ethereum will also start pumping.

to wait for the price of bitcoin and altcoin pumps simultaneously will be difficult, then better see the price of the pump first on bitcoin later if the time is right then altcoin will follow the pump. therefore I am still waiting for the peak pump from bitcoin, hopefully this trend continues

at this time not many projects require ethereum, unlike the rise of ICO. thus the demand for ethereum decreases. I think this is what makes prices so slumped. therefore ethereum needs a change, and at the beginning of the year we can see it

yes, same with my opinion ETH is down untill now, many people are disappointed with that. althought, ethereum price not reach 0,1 from bitcoin, during i see year to year its standart from ethereum price.
in my opinion, the reason ethereum not increase price is people just saving ethereum so makes in the market there are not supply and demand activity

Rules of this market are very straight. When Bitcoin is up everything jump up and vice versa. Bitcoin is continuously under pressure and its not possible for Ethereum to avoid this pressure.
Current price of ethereum is ideal for buying. Unfortunatly not many paying attention to this factor. Dont know why everyone fears buying in red market.

Ethereum has not been impressing as I have expected the price to have moved. It has consistently dip and under-perform against the bitcoin which has been making investors have conflicting thought either to hold or sell for bitcoin. Well ETH remains a coin to beat.

because they forgot to include an EIP in the latest upgrade...

Do you think Ethereum still looks strong? My biggest disappointment is Ethereum. I think it's the most robust project on the market. Ethereum price should be at least 500 dollars. It shows no resistance! Bitcoin crushes everything.

Everyone is waiting for a reason for the price of Ethereum to rise. Will this increase come with the new update? I don't really believe that. Let them perform the update in time. The market needs new stories. We need new quarterbackers from CZ and Justin.
