Nothing will be possible in this world without efforts. You need to be conscious all the times what you need to achieve. Being conscious must be a key for being successful in gambling. By being conscious, I mean to say being disciplined and controlling your mind.

it is very difficult to do this because human is very weak against his/her own greed.  but as you said earlier, all that can be done as long as the person has awareness, aware of his abilities, aware of the limits that must be set and aware that greed is a stupid thing.  in gambling, greed is the only thing that will make someone broken.

If a person is self disciplined then he would have much things under his or her control which will help a person to be wise and not be greedy which just runs behind money knowing the fact that gambling is not easy to make money from it .

Greed if being use in the right direction allow you to earned more decent. Though it's hard to control as mentioned that it's really polluting your mindset but if you can manage to control it and be able to make a certain stop. Yes, I agree with you, but in reality controlling yourself is not as easy as it says and in gambling you cannot fully apply your mindset and self-control because at least things like that will be a bit hooked on andernalin in the game even though the person is a person expert, and it all depends on the gambling being played.
