[CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity

As I promised yesterday, here is the yearly iverview of the local boards activity for 2024. In the majority of charts I added the data from 2023 so we can get a better idea how boards progressed/regressed compared to the year before.

Well, I really appreciate your work. It is very clear, and the precise data you collect and present impresses me a lot. Users won't be satisfied with their activity until they see it here because of its preciseness. Thank you, Rikafip, for your efforts for the forum.

Mostly, I saw your name notification mentioning my local board activities in post count or in active members. This time, I am in the 9th position on the Pakistan local board activity chart. It's an honor for me and gives me a boost to work more on this forum.

Talking about the post count and the decrease in activity from 2024 related to 2023, I would simply say that it is just because of the low number of merit sources. When users receive merits for deserving posts, they will be more active and work daily. This will increase the number of active members and post activity. Moreover, Syeds56 from the Pakistan local thread made 668 posts, which is more than many top posters from other local boards. Other users in the Pakistan local thread are also trying to increase their activities but are still not recognized by our local board. I hope this year we will get our board.

Good idea! Some time ago I updated the first post with links to all monthly overviews but in the meantime I completely forgot about it so I might update that one too.

Communities marked with * don't have their own local board as of yet, and unfortunately the number of those stayed the same as neither Pakistan or Bengali communities got their own local boards.

More specifically, the number has declined a lot in every section you mentioned. Pakistan has better stats than Bangladesh, and their local board application has been pending for a long time now. We had an application thread as well, but that is dead. We had planned to apply for our local board, but the number is declining, and we do not see any comments from the admins. If Pakistan do not get their local board, then how can we expect? there is not much hope.

While its true that Pakistan probably has the higher chances of getting the local board statust because they are more active that doesn't mean that you should stop or give up on your request. Before Nigerians got their own local board, no new local boards had been made for years. Yet, they managed to secure one against the odds,so you never know what might happen.

I became the top poster of all time on the Bengali thread, and I tried my best at that time.

It's unfortunate that the chances of getting a local board is very slim for us. Anyway, nobody blames you for anything, brother. What you did, you did it for the greater good for our local community. You know, I understand one thing the admins know how many accounts a single person is operating. So, even if it looks like a community is big enough with a bunch of active users, the admin knows the truth. 20 accounts may be handled by only 6 or seven people. In this case, the admin will never tell you the reason, but he won't approve a local board.

So, I do agree that it is better to have a few genuine users than to have tons of users with multiple accounts and abusers. I know a lot of secrets and I believe a lot of other forum members know as well. But everyone deserves a 2nd chance, especially if the offense is not too bad.

More persons need to take it all out on these abuser so that their activities can be minimized to the bearest minimum. if the effort of one person can result to a drastic decline in their activities then more people putting in more efforts will totally eliminate their activities.

Post activity per local board during January 2025

During January 2025, 14199 posts were written across local boards that are part of this overview, which is a very small increase compared to month before (13997). Due similar overall numbers, majority of the local boards had more or less the same activity (with tendency of increase), with only Russian board having more noticeable drop but even despite that they remained easily yhe most active board.

Its good to see that Nigerian board is having a comeback as they were having the best month in a while.

Active members per local board during January 2025

In the above mentioned period 1419 forum members wrote at least 1 post in one of the local board which is a slight increase compared to December numbers (1395)  and is consistent with post increase.
Once again Russian is dominant in this chart, followed by Nigerian and German local boards. Italian board is also worth mentioning as they had a huge increase in the amount of active members from 69 in December to 93 in January and such a big increase doesn't happen often.

When it comes to the percentage of members who wrote only 1 post in their board during January, Spanish local board is the leader with 48% of such members while in the same bracket Pakistan had only 12 of those members.

In the 2-9 posts bracke leader is Greek board with 55% while Polish had the lowest percentage of such members, only 20%.

Regarding the 10+ posts bracket, Croatian local board is leader where exactly half (50%) od all active members wrote 10+ posts, while Greek board had no members who wrote that amount of posts.

Merit shared per local board during January 2025

During January, 8416 merit was shared across local board which is a decent increase compared to December numbers (8088) which is a definitely a good news after months of decrease.

This month we also have surprise-Nigerian board is at the top with 2108 merit which is (afaik) their record. German dropped to 2nd place (after being a leader the last month) with also very good numbers, while Russian dropped to (for them unusually very low) 3rd place.

Merit/Post ratio per local board during January 2025

Combination of solid increase of merit shared and a slight increase of post number resulted in a pretty high 0.59 merit per post shared across 18 local boards that are part of this overview.

This time we have an expected leader, Bengali board with a very high 1.45 merit per post ratio, followed by Romanian and Nigerian locals, while we see usual names at the bottom, but unless thyemos gives them more merit sources, all they can do is to submit their post in one of merit giveaway threads.

During January, 497 members merited posts in local boards while 650 received which is an increase compared to December (467 senders and 578 receivers). This increase is expected as amount of shared merit during January went up by ~4%.

As usual, Romanian board is again at the top with staggering 69% of merited posts, which is high even when you take into account that they only wrote 52 posts. Far away are Spanish and German locals with ~30%, while at the bottom Greek board had only 5% of merited posts.

Another chart that is affected by the Greeks - someone there sent 4 merits to one post which resulted in this high merit per transaction ratio.

Last but not the least, the list of top 10 most active members per local board. After few months of "slacking", joker_josue from portuguese board is again at the top with 211 posts written in January, followed by two members from Russian board, bits.media who wrote 202 posts and jokers10 with 168 posts.

Yep, some months it wasn't even enough to get you in top 3.

Maybe some didn't write as much as before, but overall local boards were more active that month before (13997 in December vs 14199 in January). Small increase, but important one.

While filling the table using automation process do you run a separate script for it? Is there a plugin that can help with this automation as well or the feature is present in the forum already.

The time and energy you put into this is worth celebrating. Populating a table with data manually can be tiresome. Will love to know how this automation is done, if it requires plugin or extension of you run your own script that does the automation directly for you.

Nah, no scripts, I don't have knowledge for that kind of stuff. First I tried using ChatGPT but he was a fucking moron and then I tried Grok which actually worked much better but I think I'll just do it by myself as those tools tend to do mistakes.

Populating a table with data manually can be tiresome.

Its not so tiresome actually (once I got used it, it takes me ~half an hour to fill them up manually) but I am getting lazy so I am trying to find ways to speed up the process.

Post activity per local board during February 2025

During last month, 13466 posts were written across 18 local boards which is a drop compared to month before (14199 posts during January). Once again Russian boatrd ha sbeen the most active one with very similar number of posts as last month, Nigerian board kept their 2nd spot but this time having a solid increase (up from 1887 in January) while  German local stayed at 3rd spot despite post decrease (down from 1653 in January).

1383 members wrote at least one post on one of the local boards which is a small decrease compared to January's number (1419) and that explains the slight decrease in the amount of posts as well. Russian local has by fat the most amount of active members, but Nigerians did very well too and their humber of active members keep increasing in the recent months, while germans are far behind them at the 3rd spot.

When it comes to members who wrote only 1 post, Romanian local board is the leader with 54% of such members while in the same time Pakistan had the lowest percentage of such members, only 12%.

In the 2-9 posts bracket leader is Bengali with 53%, while Polish local board has the lowest percentage of those members, 25%.

In the 10+ posts bracket Pakistan local board is the leader with 46% of such members while Greek and French have the lowest percebtage, only 11%.

Merit shared per local board during February 2025

During February 6182 merit was shared across the local boards which is a big decrease compared to January (8416 merit). Biggest drop happened on Nigerian local board, as it went from 2018  in January to 1018 in February, while majorify of other local boards experienced the drop but nowhere as close to Nigerian.

Merit/Post ratio per local board during February 2025

The average merit per post ratio across all local boards during February was 0.46 which is a significant drop compared to month before (0.59 during January). This time german local is at the top with a very high 1.08 merit/post which is a lot for such an active board, followed by Romanian local board at the 2nd and a surprisingly high Greek board at the 3rd spot. Unforunately, Pilipinas remains at the bottom with only 0.07 merit per post ratio which I don't think it reflects the quality of that local board.

During February 480 members sent while 530 received merit in one of the local boards which is an expected drop compared to January (497 senders/650 receivers).

Once again Romanian board is at the top of the chart with 47% of posts being merited, followed by German and Italian locals. On the other side we have Greek local board where only 1 out of 30 writen posts was merited, which equals to 3.33%

In this chart we rarely see anonalies like this, where one board sticks out so much, like in this case Greek one. This is caused by someone who sent 30 merit to 1 post and since it was the only merited post in Greek local during February, it caused what we see.

And for the end of monthly overview, the list of top 10 most active members per local board. Once again the most active member across all local boards has been joker_josue from Portuguese board with 211 post, 2nd one is jokers 10 from Russian board with 120 posts while at 3rd spot is another member of Portuguese board, tg88 with 119 posts. While filling the table using automation process do you run a separate script for it? Is there a plugin that can help with this automation as well or the feature is present in the forum already.

Nah, no scripts, I don't have knowledge for that kind of stuff. First I tried using ChatGPT but he was a fucking moron and then I tried Grok which actually worked much better but I think I'll just do it by myself as those tools tend to do mistakes.

Script!! I was also looking for such a script but could not find anything like that. I understood 100% that using the things I got suggested would be wrong, so manually calculated one by one and counted the number of accounts that woke up monthly and the email and password change accounts. I counted them manually, arranged them in a table, and created a graph chart. Do you make this chart at the end of the month at one time or divide it into several steps and collect the data? I have divided it into two steps for each month so that it takes less time and does not become boring.

Populating a table with data manually can be tiresome.

Its not so tiresome actually (once I got used it, it takes me ~half an hour to fill them up manually) but I am getting lazy so I am trying to find ways to speed up the process.

Although it is not tiring to you, it is tiring work, which requires sitting for a long time and collecting the data carefully. If it gets a little messy, all the data gets messy. I have chosen two times of the month to do it quickly. If this is done two times a month, it will not be boring.
