Short question and asking for your opinion. I self excluded for another 7 days (as I mostly do) but while I am excluded I still receive promotional emails any other day! This shouldn't happen, right? I mean when people take this route obviously they don't want to have anything to do with the site for at least a certain time frame, so why sending them emails despite them not even being able to login, just doesn't make sense.

In your account settings, you can disable promotional emails. So in the future, it makes sense to do this before self-excluding yourself. But in general, you're right that casinos shouldn't impose themselves on users during the self-exclusion period, i.e., it would be better if they automatically disabled promotional emails during this period.

Well, maybe it's because you self-excluded yourself for just 7 days... Maybe their "system" thinks you are not self-excluded forever, so they just make sure you don't miss anything. Of course, I am just guessing... it can be anything!
it's more likely that their marketing email system is separate from their internal system, so even if someone self-excludes themselves, the marketing department doesn't get the memo and they just keep sending promotional emails.

And I doubt that we will hear more about this from representatives. Self-exclusion is a tricky topic in general, especially in crypto gambling space. Crypto gambling is still the wild west... with all pros & cons.
at least they improved it. i just checked it now, and if i remember correctly, there was no indefinite option before.

Yeah I think so too. They should stop emails for the self excluded time frame, just to give the player a full timeout from the site. It can't be that hard to implement something like that and I think if they took responsible gambling serious they would adjust that. Like i have said before, I am not a fan about how they handle this site of the business. There really is a lot of possibility to improve on that!!

To be honest, I don't remember there initially being an option allowing users to exclude themselves indefinitely. On the one hand, Betfury can be commended for providing this opportunity to particularly addicted players. But on the other hand, it is not at all profitable for the gambling platform itself. In fact, this way, they lose users who would constantly bring them profit.

Maybe that is a different feature. I mean promotional and self-exclusion are two different things. User activated self-exclusion but forgot to disable promotional emails so he still gets the promotional email.

The platform needs to be concerned about this and fix it so that when users activate self-exclusion, no promotional emails will come to them. Self-exclusion helps users to avoid gambling temporarily and without promotional emails, they will not return to the platform for a while.

Maybe that is a different feature. I mean promotional and self-exclusion are two different things. User activated self-exclusion but forgot to disable promotional emails so he still gets the promotional email.

The platform needs to be concerned about this and fix it so that when users activate self-exclusion, no promotional emails will come to them. Self-exclusion helps users to avoid gambling temporarily and without promotional emails, they will not return to the platform for a while.
By doing self-exclusion, that user should be excluded from the casino from access to his account to marketing emails as well. If the casino has yet done it for the user and it is like their business system issue, they should fix it for all of their users in the future if the people choose self-exclusion.

Or it maybe not a mistake or issue at all, it's only the casino proactive approach in order to keep these customers in touch, at least through emails. Who knows, by receiving and reading emails, those people will return to casinos and reactive their accounts for betting again. As business, they all want to have customers, as most as possible and they want to have active users with bets.

Once the gambler sets a self-exclusion request and is approved, it should be automatic that the casino halt any form of promotional email to that user.  It would be a convenience of the user if the platform automatically adjusts or stops the promotional email to that user. Sadly, I think the platform is not set up that way, and hopefully in the future, the platform will adjust and disable promotional emails to the users who request self-exclusion.

Sadly, I think the platform is not set up that way, and hopefully in the future, the platform will adjust and disable promotional emails to the users who request self-exclusion.
I don't think it will be only this platform that is set up that way; most platforms that have the self-exclusion feature will not take it seriously because some have the feature just to seem concerned for addicts who are trying to quit when they actually are not.

There is no team under that feature ensuring to make it active, because if there was a team for it under every casino with that feature, immediately a player applies to use the self-exclusion feature, they will be ready to single out their emails and exclude them from receiving emails from the casino, emails that could encourage gambling.  Things will change for the better, though, as online gambling on cryptocasinos improves.
