Quoted Replies Should Notify

I wish I could be notified when one of my past messages was quoted and directly responded to. Call it conceited, but I get a good dose of dopamine when someone responds directly to me vs. just responding to someone else in the thread, and I search through all "new replies" (often to no avail   ) to see if anyone has responded directly to my posts. I know this was requested a few years ago, but it seems like a relatively easy fix.

Proposed Solution: In the "New Replies" section, show directly quoted threads at the top, also denoted by either bold or a special icon.

If you don't want to use those bots, did you try to look at your account settings and customize your settings.

Bruh that doesn't work, did you even check before suggesting it? There were other 2 aside from your mentioned one which also were abandoned, only tryninja's bot works these days.

Since you created this thread in the "New forum software" sub-board, it's worth mentioning that "Epochtalk already has a notification system" for such things.

In addition to the above suggestions, as a workaround, you can click the magnifier icon from the upper right corner of the page, then type your name in the "search for" field and choose the period in the "message age" fields.

I agree with you, just like on Facebook when someone replies to my comment will be notified of the account, very convenient.
Overall, implementing this feature could improve the user experience and make forum discussions more organized and readable.

I am not sure if you have done some reading around, but such feature implementations won't be done on this current forum software. Maybe the new one
There are some replies above on how you get yourself custom notifications, but I guess you didn't read through. Did you?

Haha will we ever get a new forum layout and tech though? Bitcointalk is rather outdated in terms of features and design, but just like Craigslist, it just works.

What choice do we have?

It's the oldest Crypto forum, rich with history. I tried looking at alternatives in the past, but they are not up to the standard of Bitcointalk when it comes to post quality, less spam, activity etc

Yeah, I remember trying out other crypto forum sites back in the day (2016 or so), but they never had traction. Sites like Steemit showed promise for a little while, but you just don't get fruitful discussions on sites like that. Then there's crypto Twitter which has a good user base but truly bottom-of-the-barrel discussions lol
