Having a very large number of players in his squad allows Enzo Maresca to rotate players as he wishes, but on the other hand of course he is very confused at the moment to give every player they have a fair chance to play, Palmer has so far done a good job and continues to be reliable in the Chelsea front line, But of course Maresca also has to rest him to face more important matches in the Premier League or when facing stronger teams, Chelsea managed to qualify for the Conference League league phase this season and so far the potential opponents they face in the Conference League are relatively weaker teams so it is important for Maresca to keep his key players for more important matches.

Currently the majority of the old players has been dumped by Chelsea, Raheem Sterling, Armando Broja, and Trevoh Chalobah have left for other teams at the moment, as well as Ben Chilwell who I think no longer has a place as Chelseamain left-back after Malo Gusto returned from his loan period, so far Malo Gusto has been a right-back player but it seems that in some of Chelsea pre-season games Enzo Maresca played him more as a left-back.

Sometimes feeling too overconfidence isn't that good because it would make a team be on laxity and take every other teams they will be facing as less important team, where we've seen clubs that no one expected to defeat a big a team win there game against the big because they were taken for granted. To me Cole Palmer should have been registered because he's the only savior that Chelsea got now for this season, his registration doesn't necessarily mean he will play in all the games but in case a match turn out to be a tough one, then he can come in as super sub.

The latest update adds more names to the list. Wesley Fofana and Romeo Lavia will also be excluded from the Conference League squad. This is great for keeping all players fit and spreading minutes more evenly across the squad.

Chelsea can beat clubs like Astana and Servette without their main squad. This will reduce their risk of getting injury.

Just because Liverpool couldn't win the title with Klopp doesn't mean they can't win the title this season with Arne Slot. I don't think that's how we define the strength of a club. I remember when Di Matteo took over Chelsea and they won the UCL for the first time, CMIIW. Even though Chelsea had never won the UCL with their former coach before.
Many say that Liverpool is still the same as the previous season. But I think I've seen some variations in the attacks and tactics implemented by Arne Slot. And now they are getting positive results with 3 wins. I think Liverpool deserves to be one of the favorites to win. Although I also wouldn't put them at number one because I see City really dominating the EPL this season.

Doubts about Liverpool I think are reasonable because Arne Slot has only been their coach this season and from what has happened it has not proven that Arne Slot has succeeded in making Liverpool better, there will be a long journey that must be proven by Arne Slot and to add Liverpool to the list of favorites to win the title with Man City and Arsenal I think it is still not appropriate, it is still too early.
It must also be remembered that Liverpool's squad this season has not had many changes, Arne Slot continues what Klopp has built so far so I really doubt that they can consistently show their best performance like they did at the beginning of this season.

Tough decision as I think that despite being only the conference league, that competition is at least somewhat international and Palmer would have probably liked to play games in the final round. There are not the biggest names, but if there are titles to be won, then I guess any UEFA competition does make at least a small difference. Sure, the Conference League is far from the level that Palmer seeks to compete in, but excluding him so early from the competition altogether, I don't know if I'd be happy about that if I were him. Probably not.

When I first heard about it I got surprised but later I understood why. Indeed they are going to play too many games during this season. Considering how valuable Palmer is for Chelsea, Enzo Maresca must think of the best for him.    Besides the Conference League isn't a priority for Chelsea as you know. The board expects success in the Premier League first. Because Chelsea are really craving for success here for years...

I think what Enzo Maresca did was right because key players need to be rested. Besides, it's not the Champions League or the Europa League that has more prestige than the Conference League. Chelsea has spent quite a long time in the Premier League as just a sidekick in recent seasons, so if they want to get good results this season then they have to focus on what is their target, which means there have to be other competitions that are sacrificed. There's no guarantee it will work but that at least would provide more opportunities than chasing everything.

So Arne Slot has to buy a few more players to back up the core players.

Pretty understandable move. Obviously, the Conference Cup is much less prestigious than the Champions League, or even the Europa League (and with a much smaller prize pool), so Chelsea will definitely want to prioritise league games over it, to do what they can to secure a spot in the Champions League next season.
And it's a good opportunity to let younger players, or players from the bench to earn experience and have more playing time.
Palmer, and other players not registered could still be added later on for the knock-out rounds, when squads can be re-submitted, so not a big deal.

Yea, you are right, we are just at the beginning of the season. We have to see more about their performance, but knowing that Liverpool also had a great performance at the start of the season, there is some hope that they will be in the top 4 of the table. Before the season ends, for them to win the trophy, it will be very hard because there is no possibility for them to gain the trophy when Arsenal and Manchester City are still in the game, although anything can happen because their new coach, Arne Slot, is really trying his best to see the team's success in this season. Although they are done great for now, we don’t still know what is capable of happening before the end of the season because there are a lot of games to be played.

No good coach in his right senses will register Cole Palmer to play the conference league whykile hid dressing room is full of many and even  unused players that need to be engaged. In the other hand, It is becoming obvious that Chelsea might not be able to quality for the champions League this season. But even if they cannot qualify for the champions League, atleast they are hopeful of the Europa league. Chelsea has lots of players that can be used for a tournament that is inferior to the club. Chelsea have a player that's considered to be one of the best talents in the world that was nominated for the Ballon d'Or to be playing at the conference league. It is better the players get rested for better tournaments to play and help the team as they'll be well rested to play in the premier league games. Chelsea have lots of young guys that can play in the conference league and they'll be playing with players that are almost on their level and win therefore the club is doing the young players a platform to impress the coach and get on the first team substitution list.

I literally like this idea of not taking Palmer and the likes to the Europa conference league, now there are so many players who can try to prove their worth and boost their confidence there. A team can't just continue to depend on certain players  only, this separate top teams from mid teams and I hope many of these youngsters can be able to find themselves through this.

While the likes of Fofana and Latvia also needed this from their own injuries woesthey suffered especially last season, thank God they're back and I hope they can just have nothing of that long term sidelines ever again including Recce James who is listed in the squad.

After this players fails to do well, I hope the Chelsea management team will then find a way of selling them or at most loaning them out, from the fact that if they can't do against third tier European teams competitions, how can they become a big team player, playing in the Europa League or Champions league or even competing with Epl big teams like Manchester City and Liverpool

palmer is a smart player and his performances have contributed a lot to the chelsea team, so he should definitely be given one to two more games. But of course I believe that Chelsea decided to drop palmer from the squad due to having too many players in the squad. Since he has remained unregistered so far, he must be given a chance as he has been performing well for a long time. Because his game is so clear and he can support any player well, before changing a player he must be given a chance so that he can perform well later on.

Well, if this piss of news is correct, then i think it's a logical decision that has been well thought about before it was made, because if you look at Ben chilwel, he is actually not in Chelsea's plan anymore, he is actually surplus to requirements, so what I heard right now about his situation is that Chelsea are open to selling him to a Turkish team if their is any interested club, and as it stands,  he might not get even a single minute if he stays back at the club, so I think the best option right now is for him to move to turkey since their transfer window is still open till now.

Then as for cole palmer, just as you rightfully said, the numbers of matches he is going to play is way too much and it will definitely be detriment to his fitness, so it's a good decision by Chelsea not to register him in the uefa conference squad since the competition is the least of their objective this season.

I don't know why the Chelsea coach took such a decision. Cole Palmer is a very talented player. Cole Palmer is only 22 years old. If properly cared for he will be able to perform better in future. But the Chelsea coach left this talented player out of the Europa Conference League squad. Chelsea should have used Cole Palmer properly. As a result, he could gradually become more experienced.

He has 1 goal and 4 assists in three matches with Chelsea this season. He is the most regular player in Chelsea's squad at the moment. But maybe the Chelsea coach can make such a decision to reduce Palmer's injury tendency. Palmer's chances of injury increase if he performs regularly in Europe's conference leagues. Liverpool is truly convincing in the first three games of the Premier League as for Manchester City we know how strong they are, yet it is one of those rare cases where Liverpool starts in full power and is yet to concede a goal while crushing Manchester United at Old Trafford which is quite an achievement for them. Liverpool have suffered already in the previous seasons in the first few games of the Premier League and in the end those seasons did not end well as we know but right now they are having a great form and as I said it is not a coincidence because you simply cannot beat that easily 0-3 in their home a team like Manchester United which leads to me to my next question unanswered from months now, when is Ten Haag going to be sacked?

Beating Manchester United by a huge margin of 3-0 at home was not easy for Liverpool but Liverpool did it. If Manchester United had been beaten 3-0 at home by Liverpool, I wouldn't have highlighted it so much, but what happened is Liverpool's performance. Last season we saw Liverpool start the season like this at the beginning of the season but they couldn't maintain that consistency later on. Liverpool have played three matches this season where they are second in the points table with nine points despite 3 points from first placed Manchester City. If Liverpool can maintain this consistency, then this team will have a tough competition with Manchester City.

Chelsea not doing great is not really a shock, they keep on getting players and at this point they are making a huge mistake. They have 40+ players on their list, that makes no sense and if they get rid of half of them, the money they can raise from that would be enough to purchase Mbappe and Haaland together, it makes no sense to spend this much money on mostly players that are not good.

Let's see how they will do, but when you consider the amount of money they spent, and then you look at their roster on a game day, and the eleven players they have look basically similar to whoever they are facing. When in reality they should be a lot better if they spend this much, and for the past two years or so they have been just getting whoever they want, that's a bad decision.

It is not surprising to everyone with Chelsea's performance in the last few seasons until now, they have been inconsistent and I agree with you about wasting money just for players they shouldn't buy, not only Chelsea, Man United is the same as Chelsea even though they are considered a rich club, spending that much money is not a big deal for them, but on the other hand they are not aware that this will end in their financial crisis in the future, if they continue to buy players who are not useful for the club's growth then a crisis will hit Chelsea, of course there must be a change in the problem of recruiting players in choosing players who are truly useful for the team and can bring change to Chelsea's game, I hope Chelsea is aware of this condition in every season experiencing a significant decline.

when a squad spends the likes of over 1 billion in the span of two years, you expect their first eleven to be really really good, where the players are so good that they can be considered as stars. Chelsea owners did spend a lot of money but the spending was not really well-thought. A lot of these recruitments are seen as future investments, who can be sold for higher prices later on. But I don't think that's how football really works.

If Todd Boehly was more success oriented, I think he would try to buy a few star players, who will make the starting XI in every week and are also proven in the Premier League. Coming to Chelsea could be a delight for a lot of players, as this gets them more wages, a spot in the top 6 clubs in the league is definitely something to be proud of. It's also not like going to Saudi Arabia, which ensures they don't get a backlash.

Chelsea should have gone for more players like Pedro Neto, who are proven in the Premier League, who can start games and can ensure wins, and their buying of worse players does not add much value in the current context. I hope they make better choices soon.
