We start the new season finally with a game between Liverpool and Bournemouth at Anfield... What are your thoughts on this one? 

The odds are quite normal. 1.29 for Liverpool and 9.00 for Bournemouth. The home side has really low odds so no need to take that. Instead what about Liverpool & BTTS @2.29?

It is the first game of the season. I want to trust the away side to contribute with a goal too.

Liverpool odds really tells us if they gonna win easily. However, i think considering how weak their defense. The chance for their opponent to score is always there. I don't rule out Bournemouth's chance to score at least one goal in this game. It's wise to take BTTS as our bet.

Liverpool & BTTS is a valid option but I think it is riskier. A simple BTT could be just fine and the odds will be around 1.70 or above which is also a fair odd. I am not confident in going Liverpool direct win but that doesn't mean that they cannot do it. But I'm just skeptical.

Aston Villa - Newcastle looks such a competitive fixture truthfully. The odds are also telling us this:

- Aston Villa : 2.32
- Newcastle : 3.00

The home side is favoured slightly... Their latest fixture at this stadium was a disaster for Newcastle - 4-1.  

But this time we're just starting the season. Newcastle is happy to keep Isak for now but he doesn't share the same feelings tho. He is the key player for them in this match.

This match is difficult to predict honesty. Aston villa has made some signings and sold some players. So I don't know how their strength will be this season. In the other hand, we can say that Isak is not happy but that will normally not affect his performance.

We will all see what he will be able to do, because he is trying to correct all the mistakes done by Erik ten Hag, which is why you see Manchester United spending much to build a strong squad. If it works out for them, and there is a possibility that it will, they will definitely make it to the Champions League next season, which will be a good improvement for them. As we all saw last season, they were not able to do anything in the Premier League due to poor management. But for now, all the money spent will be displayed on the pitch, with no doubt.

Yeah, I think he knows that he's under the spotlight and would seek to turn things around. I really hope he does. Their performance last season was terrible. I don't know about making it to the champions league just yet. It's way too early to see Manchester united finishing amongst the top 4 and it pretty much seems to be wishful thinking at this point.
With the new signings, one can be hopeful about a noticeable improvement in their performance. It was quite disheartening to see the poor performance displayed last season and one can only hope for something better this season. Fingers crossed..

United a still going to have a poor season, I don't expect much from them. I don't even see them making the top 4 or top 5, so they can qualify for the Champions League. People may disagree with me, but I have my reasons, and the biggest reason is their midfield.
Man United's midfield is still crap. They have a good attack now, but without the right midfield, I'm afraid it's all going to crumble. This transfer window, they have focused on the attack and neglected the midfield. The only good midfielder United has currently is Bruno Fenades. They need a defensive midfielder and a central midfielder who can be a controller. Caemiro, Ugarte, Kobe Mainoo, they're all not good enough. When they meet a midfield that is technical and physical, they will get bullied. I understand they're in a rebuilding process, but they should have gotten one good midfielder at least to smooth things up. I have never seen a team that succeeds without a good midfield.

Crystal palace are continuing their top form from last season. To go down twice and came back both times against a fully stacked Liverpool team is great. Crystal palace has the most underrated defense in the English premier league, people don't talk about how good their defense down to the keeper has been.
Crystal palace are also great in attack, today's game also should be a reminder to Liverpool that they need to also invest in their centre backs, it's time to get fresh blood in .

Literally Crystal Palace have managed to maintain their best form since last season but their recent victories against Liverpool may be down to the new additions to their squad. It is largely true that Crystal Palace may have been able to win the FA Community Shield title for the first time, there was a lot of excitement among them in this match. In my opinion the hero in the shootout in this Community Shield match was the Crystal Palace goalkeeper because he was able to stop Mac Allister's shot, one of the Liverpool players who have recently been nominated for the Ballon d'Or. We all saw that some of Liverpool's big summer signings took to the field but they couldn't put in a satisfactory performance against Crystal Palace.

Crystal palace's comeback versus Liverpool was extraordinary and their defense is on fire not famous names but strong and rigorous. in the previous season they conceded 51 goals which is not a high level accomplishment but is a honourable mid range when you compare them with big teams. In addition to that their goalkeeper dean Henderson had finished the league with 11 clean sheet which put him 4th best in the league. On the other side Liverpool have shown interest in signing crystal palace's center back Marc Guehi to help them with their own defensive problems. So yes the Palace's defense is underestimated and Liverpool will soon try to solidify themselves  by trying to take the main piece from Crystal Palace .

the only expectation i will have for amorin is that he does better than his last seasons performance, once he is able to achieve that and at least bring the team back to shape such that they start playing like a team that can get something done in the long run, then i can assume that the united that can qualify for the champions league is gradually coming back to life and maybe before the end of the season they can pull up something really amazing.

there is a lot of things we will be looking out for that can not be visible now that the season has not started fully. ofcause, the preparation from other teams is something we can not take for granted because so far, all the top teams are at the top of there games and are not ready to relent and allow anyone get pass them. we can point at somany teams that are better prepared than even uniteed that will be hoping to still make it to the top spot of the league which will give them access for the champions league qualification.

In as much as I don't like Ten Hang, the truth is he came and met Manchester United problems but at the same time I can't also say that he didn't contribute to the problems in the team currently. Amorim has a big task ahead of him and I really do hope the Portuguese coach succeeds in his quest to turn Manchester United around.

To me I'm not just seeing the to qualify for champions League I'm seeing them to win a trophy with that squad, like I'm just kind of happy for them, they've really gone through a lot these few years and I believe this season is their redemption season, a season to rebuild and and equally win, I just hope they land baleba to old Trafford so the midfield will be okay since the attack is already okay and the defense line too I kind of have faith on the defenders, my only fear for them is the goal keeper like onana is not really the man for that job, he will screw everything up, what will be the need of scoring 2 goals then conceive 3, because that's exactly what I'm seeing from Sunday.

From the look of things in this game, Tottenham might win the game. PSG have more ball possession but it has not shown in their attack and goal attempt. Tottenham seems to have learned how to beat PSG from Chelsea. These teams will allow the European champions to enjoy the control of the game, while they take advantage of any opening to score goals.

Let’s see how Amorim will perform this season, at least he has been given opportunity to sign some players which he believes will improve the teams performance, so let’s wait and see how they will perform when the season start. Most people didn’t complain so much about Amorim last season, just because they believe he wasn’t the one that made those signings, so people couldn’t complain that much, even as Manchester United were performing poorly, but right now Amorim has no excuse, if he doesn’t perform well, then all the blames will be in him.

I know there will be improvement in Manchester United with the players which Amorim sign, but I don’t think Manchester United will be able to qualify for the champions league next season, Manchester United dont really have the squad depth thats going to make them achieve that, I expect them to end the season in a better position, but getting a champion league slot is going to be difficult for them to achieve.

Crazy comeback from PSG! I think it was Tottenham faults to let PSG control the last 30 minutes of the game because eventually everything went against them and PSG showed us why they are UCL winners and probably the best team in the world right now. 

Also Tottenham managed to give up on 2 leads...one from 2-0 and one from 2-1 at penalties which feels bad for them .

Since PSG lost to Chelsea in the Club World Cup, I know there will be a problem in their performance this season because I feel like their confidence will reduce since then. Right now I’m not confident in their performance again because they don’t look attractive again to me.

I’m waiting to see what their performance will look like in the new season that will soon start. I feel like other clubs already know their weak point and how to tackle them easily, so definitely things may not go the way we have been seeing before, but let’s see how it goes first.

Wasted effort from Tottenham, leading the game from first half down to 80th minutes with only less than 10-15 minutes until the final whistle. It's a pity to be closer to victory and get denied at the dieing minute. Tottenham were strong, it felt like they had everything under control from the first half and entering into the second half, PSG first goal was supposed to make them work harder but it never worked out that way and fast forward they lost to PSG under penalty shootout.

It's a pity that Tottenham couldn't hang on to the win despite getting a 2 goals lead I thought that they are going to win their second trophy all in one year but they failed to defend it. They really did try to challenge PSG this way and at some point I thought PSG is gonna lose another trophy but they proved me wrong and managed to equalized and  win on penalties. Tottenham Hotspur totally bottled the game, they got the lead twice in the game but lost it.

Since PSG lost to Chelsea in the Club World Cup, I know there will be a problem in their performance this season because I feel like their confidence will reduce since then. Right now I’m not confident in their performance again because they don’t look attractive again to me.

I don't know if their performance will depreciate or not I just know that finals are not always easy and no matter the team you face it won't be that easy. Chelsea gave other teams clue on how to play PSG and that's what every team wants to imitate against them but that doesn't mean PSG lost any confidence.

Watching Spurs going 2 goals up against PSG, a very strong and aggressive side, I said to myself that these Spurs players are giving their all in that game but after seeing the mess they did I concluded that Spurs are Arsenal pro max. Like why would a North London side be having same bad luck as Arsenal? This is becoming serious and I don't think is a case of the club disliking trophies, no and I can't tell.
For better part of that game Thomas Frank killed every move Enrique had and the manager of PSG was clueless, the confusion was much, haven't seen Enrique in that state before where he'll only look without reacting, like what happened? For me I'd blame the players because they had only one job to take care of and that's to defend the remaining 6mins but they felt too comfortable and they lost the game. Is like Arsenal who have been trying to win the EPL title for 3 years now and they only end up finishing 2nd because of weak mentality.

A really nice try it was for Tottenham.    It must be devastating to watch the trophy slip away from their hands due to a last minute goal.

I didn't give them much chance during penalties but they still fought well during the whole match. I'm curious if they'll get better in the PL this season.


I expect a strong start by Liverpool this Friday. I want to take a bigger risk by a -1.5 handicap on Liverpool.

You all should even be considering how lucky PSG was Enrique should be lucky that his team didn't lose this game else he would've had some explanations to give to the board members of PSG they might have forgotten the lose to Chelsea in the Club World Cup but I don't think they would let loosing against Tottenham slide of all teams to lose to it shouldn't be Tottenham.
