The derby of Manchester is on the horizon! Only 4 days left. Manchester City's odds continue to rise interestingly. From 1.85 to 1.95 so far... But I still believe they will be the winner.

It is a big maybe but I wouldn't also say no to seeing Xabi Alonso manage Liverpool.    He is a great manager who has proven his manager skills at Leverkusen. They wasted him at Real Madrid.

I know he resigned because of the players' attitude against him. But the board should have thought about what can be done on the recent incidents. You can't change your manager often because of that in the end.

Of course Guardiola's club is the obvious favourite here. Man Utd is still in pain because of inconsistencies. And it's still not known who's going to be their next coach. Until then Fletcher takes care of the club.

In this situation I don't expect them to show a great effort in this derby honestly. 1.85 odds for Man City look just great! I might bet on it early in fact.

If I had to take a high risk bet, I’d go with the draw. City’s odds look really tempting since they’ve been slightly better in terms of form.

But we shouldn’t forget that even though MU have been inconsistent lately, they usually show up when playing against their rivals. If you look at their previous meetings, the results are often unpredictable. Plus, MU are playing at home, which should give them some extra confidence to avoid a loss.

So, I’m taking draw @4.10.

Manchester United is not in form at the moment, and i think Manchester City will beat Manchester United, but with the Manchester United records against big teams in the premier league this season, Manchester United can fight for a point against Manchester City, so it seems if you bet on the Manchester United and Manchester City game as a draw, you can end up winning the bet. If the Manchester United and Manchester City game doesn't end as a draw, Manchester City will beat Manchester United, and i will bet on Manchester City direct win if Diallo and Mbeumo do not feature for Manchester United against Manchester City.

Hmmm interesting, in the first meeting Man City won this Derby, curious for the second Derby this time will the result be the same? and what adds to making it a little difficult to predict, they both produce 3 draws in the last 5 weeks, but given the fact that Man Utd is coached by a new coach, making Man City more likely to win even though they play away.

Well, I was just talking about this with a friend of mine, I think Xabi could be a potential replacement for Arne at Liverpool, and maybe the true quality of Florian Wirtz could be brought out 100% if Xabi really went to Anfiled, unfortunately Man Utd, already signed Carrick, otherwise maybe they would also approach Xabi.

United has been struggling badly since and with just an interim manager in charge there problems has even compounded the more . And going into this game Manchester United will go in as the underdogs because, Manchester City is the favorite to win this game. But don't forget this is a local derby and there is pride to fight for so this game may not go the way everyone is thinking because when it comes to games like this no team should be underrated.



Manchester United will be playing at home and I believe it should serve as an advantage to to united. For we the gambling community we should take the risk and take it well 3.23 is a good odd that is worth taking the risk for Manchester United.

some of the things xabi alonso did at leverkusen were incredible, and they had a huge impact on his move to real madrid. actually, his performance at real madrid wasn't that bad, but the fact that their biggest rivals, barcelona, fell behind in the league and lost the super cup led to his departure. from what i've read, he also wanted to leave for some internal team reasons. there are so many “star” players at real madrid right now that managing such a team is very difficult. i'm sure this is one of the reasons.

xabi alonso could try his luck in the premier league, but i don't know if that team would be liverpool. we can say he's a quality coach; i just think he didn't come at the right time for real madrid.

Manchester United need a coach who can bring some confidence back to the players, even at a basic level. In that sense, appointing Michael Carrick until the end of the season sounds quite logical. For Carrick himself, it’s almost a no-lose situation. If things don’t work out, it’s unlikely he’ll take the full blame, because the club’s problems clearly run much deeper. And if he manages to steady the team and push for a top-five finish, he instantly becomes a hero.

This is not a win-win situation, it's literally a lose-lose situation. Carrick will lose a job he is doing alright at, and United is losing a chance to find someone better. This could be the worst decision made by United and Carrick himself as well. If Carrick goes there, and does terrible, he will be remembered as the guy who "got to United and did even worse than the guy who got fired" and that is very possible, if he does very badly and drops points and go lower on standings.

United on the other hand will be seen as "owners got Carrick instead of Xavi or Xabi who were both available" and will continue to be hated. I really hope one day some rich dude buys this team and manages it properly because it's sad to see them this bad.

Aside Manchester United I don’t think Xabi Alonso will get a job In the premier league next season. Chelsea just recently got a new manager, they were clear that they don’t want a care taker but a manager that will manage the team for years to come so it clear that they would stick to their new manager.

And as of Manchester city I think their plan is to bring in Enzo maresca if guardiola eventually leaves next season, it something that is clear, with Maresca being a premier league tested manager I think that would be the best call for them.

Manchester United is the only option for now because they are with a care taker and by the end of the season he would be replaced so maybe Xabi might be approached by the management and he might considering coming to the premier league.

And if Alonso were to return to Anfield to coach the team he once played for, and the place where he once shone, that would be very interesting to watch.

I absolutely agree that Manchester United has been struggling badly because i cannot remember the last time Manchester United won a match, but it is not right for you to say that Manchester United's problems have increased because of their new interim coach since you haven't seen how Michael Carrick, who is the new interim coach of Manchester United, will perform at Manchester United. Michael Carrick knows the tradition of Manchester United, and i believe he will help Manchester United do better this season. Manchester City remains the favorite in the Manchester derby, but since it is a derby and Manchester United is at home, Manchester United will not just relax and allow Manchester City to walk away with the 3 points. Manchester United will fight Manchester City very hard so they can put smile on the faces of their fans.

This is just a dream, because I don't see this happening anytime soon. I don think Luis Enrique will want to leave a club like OSG to come to Manchester United thar does not have a direction right now, a club were the owners are loyal and also give him the opportunity to sign whichever player he wants to come to Manchester United where the owner dictate the player they bring to the club,  so I think he will not be coming to Manchester United.
Liverpool on the other hand, I don't see them sacking Arne Slot anytime soon, so no place for Xavi Alonso for now. Slot did himself a lot of good for winning the Premier League last season and I think that act alone will buy him more time at Liverpool.

So I don’t expect to see Alonso at Liverpool this season maybe he might replace Slot, if Slot contract is over in 2027 but I saw news saying Xabi Alonso will return to coaching soon. So let’s wait and see which team he picks to coach.

After Klopp leave there are several candidates as his replacement at that time, Xabi Alonso is one of strong candidate before Liverpool owner have choose Arne Slot but actually first season is not dissapointing because Slot can bring Liverpool to gets premier league title and recently the rumour has been appear again that after Alonso sacked from Real madrid many media have speculate that he can replace Slot position and i think currently Slot is under pressure because if Liverpool not performing in the next several games probably this rumour would be happended that Alonso can being an new manager of Liverpool

I will not rightly advise Xabi Alonso even coming to the premier League side even by the end of Anne Slot because I don't think his style of play would survive in the Epl. His performance in real Madrid is not very impressive right now of which there are more better squads there in real Madrid and probably, a better freedom of decision by the manager unlike the epl where most of the managers face constant board interference. His coming to Liverpool could just be like the coming of Ruben Amorim to Manchester United of which he left a failure ( no title). England is not for every coach!

Manchester city is a strategic team of which it's easier to beat them in the first half than wait until second half due to their frequent dominance in the second half. Newcastle wasted their opportunities in the first half when I already thought they will win the game.  If you watch many games that Manchester city lose especially the title games, it's mostly the first half dominance that wins it for their opponents. This is because pep Guardiola will always study your pattern in the first half and try to cover up the flaws and then focus on your weaknesses to defeat you in the second half. Newcastle missed their opportunity and lost the game to Manchester city, I guess the best team won.

The actual fact is that Manchester United is a risky club I don't think Luis Enrique will want to risk his glorious career on, when he is having it easy at PSG, so it's very unlikely that such a deal will ever happen.
We have seen how PSG team plays, and the high level of equality players at his disposal, do you think that he will leave such a team that the work their is much easier with a better pay and go to a team that their is more work to be done and the quality of players at Manchester United is very low, which he is not even sure that he will be supported heavily in the transfer market, so I don't see this move happening, unless something extraordinary happens.

Do you believe that Luis Enrique is dumb enough to leave PSG and join Manchester United? Amorim mentioned something about not having the freedom he needed to achieve his vision for the club. The problem inside Manchester United might be with the people, who are in charge of the club, not the manager. There were rumors about Xavi Hernangez getting signed as a new Man United manager, but I guess that this will happen after the end of the season.  AFAIK, Luis Enrique doesn't know English, while Xavi knows a little bit of English. Both Spanish coaches will have to adapt to the Premier League.

Which ones draw your attention here? I guess most people would say the Manchester derby!    At Old Trafford there is going to be a lovely match hopefully. The favourite side is of course obvious here, Manchester City.

Manchester United have a new manager now. This will probably mean new tactics as well. We will see if there will be adaptation problems. I expect Manchester City to beat them honestly. Guardiola has no reason to play safely as he is chasing Arteta for the championship.

There is nothing Manchester United can do to stop Manchester City from getting three points in the game, I know that Manchester United get a new manager and the tactics will be different from Ruben Amorim own which means the team will perform well better than before, but I still think Manchester United is not in a good shape to compete against Manchester City, Manchester City squad is very good and they have sign players who can help them to win games in terms of scoring goals when they need them, it is a derby match and it is going to be played at Old Trafford but I don’t think Manchester United can defeat City.

Manchester United is currently like a team that is going to start another season because Amorim tactics have affected the team and the new manager will have a lot to do by getting out the best out of some players, Manchester City have, Smenyo, Cherki, Haaland, Doku and Foden who are very good in scoring goals and if you look at Manchester United there is not any player you will mention and think that they will score like two goals for Manchester United in the match, so Manchester City is winning the game.
