First you most understand that Bitcoin is a private asset that is at the discretion of the asset owner to sell at any given time, so statement like "Bitcoin is mandated to be held long because the short-term value here is incompetent" shouldn't be made, your not mandating anybody to hold his Bitcoin for a long time, you can only appeal to investors to hold for long time because it grows in value over time, however if they decide to sell in a short time too, you cannot stop them, so using the word like must and mandated for somebody else's asset shouldn't be encouraged.

I don't think that you have studied bitcoin market properly because every new ATH happens in a bull market and the next bull run will be in 2029. I don't agree with you, this time is not just the time to hold an investor should be buying every time regardless of the market conditions
because buying now will give an investor more Bitcoin at a cheaper price compared to when price was higher.

Maybe because they really don't understand how things works with their investment decision they choose. Because some of people are just been hype to be called their selves as holder but when market correction came out they get panic and ride with the negative sentiments made by lots of people in panic condition.

I don't see any reason why wheelz1200 will not be happy for buying aggressively earlier before this dip like you said. He has already used that opportunity to increase his bitcoin portfolio higher and that's what is the most important thing for every investor. For them to take advantage of the opportunity they have to invest aggressively when they can for a good increase in their bitcoin stash.

You are sounding like a trader for you to say that wheelz1200 will be regretting when he is accumulating bitcoin for a long time without selling a dime. DCA method doesn't prevent or stop any investor not to buy aggressively when he can irrespective of the price of bitcoin. As a matter of fact, mixing the three methods in a proper way and buying aggressively will give you a better result than only DCA in the long run.

Supporting such an idea of buying now with the intention of selling around September/October may be the reason to refer to you as sounding like a trader and as a matter of fact, that is what it is and such ideas should never be supported in a topic where we are discussing how to build a long term portfolio of several years. Buying and hoping to sell in seven months time is short term investment which should be avoided because it can end very badly. We are familiar with the fact that Bitcoin price is not always accurately predictable so setting a time when you want Bitcoin to reach all time high will likely lead to making wrong decisions that may end in regrets or loss of money especially when the investor more than his discretionary income.

I have to go with @Dunamisx on this, the Bybit hack should only have a little effect on the market, Bybit is just an exchange and it's not all its money that was stolen. Perhaps you talked based on what is currently happening in the crypto market, it may happen with or without the Bybit issue, the $1.4b hack is too small to cause a serious issue in the crypto market. What happens now is a result of the persistent hovering of the market beneath upper resistance without a breakthrough due to the inability to attract more liquidity. This eventually created FUD in the market which resulted in what we see now. However, I see this as a temporary setback, so expect Bitcoin to move higher than before by the time it bounces back.

I hope it's temporary and the market recovers pretty fast.
