Speculation: New Trezor Product Coming on 14 June

The official website shows a price of €169. dkbit98 post just above yours says the units cost $169. Maybe he entered the wrong currency symbol or they really sell them at both €169 and $169, depending on the geo location.

You can manually change the currency on top of their website and you will get the same numbers like I did, this is the same for all of Trezor products.
It's easier for me to track everything related with Bitcoin in USD Dollars instead of Euro, but I don't know if Trezor corrects and adjust the price later during checkout.

Design-wise, I like this backplate way more than the other variants, but as a Trezor user, I hate seeing them following in Ledger's footsteps by making limited editions a regular in their lineup ^{[I do know they're still charging the same price, but AFAICR Ledger started like that as well and that's no longer the case for some or rather most of their limited edition devices]}.

Yeah, they seem to have no idea who ordered what, so they simply emailed the same email to everyone they had in their database. I received the same email saying that unpaid Freedom Edition orders will get cancelled, and just like you I never ordered one. The email address they sent the email to is associated with their newsletter and I might have used it once to talk to their live support. I never ordered anything through it.

Why did Trezor never add any functionality to the microSD card available in both the Trezor Model T and Trezor Safe 5? Did they simply forget that this feature exists?

The last time they added features was in one of the 2020 firmware updates, which introduced the Wipe Code and SD card protection, where the SD card stores an encrypted secret and acts as a combination for the PIN code. After that, the SD card slot was never utilized again.

They could have added encryption features, PSBT signatures (they didn’t even do that), among several other possibilities.

What they seem to be focusing on is increasing support for shitcoins.

I remember people asking similar things of Ledger back in the day. Why do they keep focusing on altcoins and shitcoins instead of improving their wallets overall and focusing more on bitcoin? These companies do things that's easier for them and make their decisions based on the feedback they read from their users and/or potential customers.

I am sure more people ask them to add support for certain altcoins and introduce some new Web3 nonsense instead of the functionalities you suggested. So that's what they do. If the feedback was different, their approach would change as well.

They didn't forget that such a feature exists and AFAICR they needed to address a few things first ^{[prerequisites]} before working on adding the PSBT functionality to the SD card... In addition to that, @prusnak mentioned "there are things with more priority on their list" and seeing that it's part of a section with "No due date", it's safe to say that it's at the bottom of the pecking order ^{[unfortunately]}.

This is probably the case with any HW brand that also offers universal firmware and I understand why you think that's their main focus, but it's worth mentioning that both of their latest devices support fewer coins ^{[especially Safe 3 (incomplete list at the bottom of my post)]} and they recently started "deprecating some of these coins".
