Trezor Amazon Prime Day Offers

16 and 17 July is Amazon Prime day. Trezor offers offers several discounts for purchases over their Amazon shop.

Here is what you can get:

- Trezor One: $41.30 (30% discount).
- Trezor Model T: $89.40 (50% discount).
- Trezor Keep Metal (24-word seeds): $79.20 (20% discount).

It's worth noting that the Trezor Model T is no longer being sold over the official Trezor shop. Trezor One is still available, but it might be dropped at one point in the future as well.

Trezor One for $41 is now probably the cheapest hardware wallet in the world.
I wouldn't waste $90 on Trezor Model T when Trezor Safe 3 is cheaper than that, so this discount only makes sense to me if someone want's to purchase Trezor Keep Metal for backing up seed words.
Note that on Amazon they are selling older version of Trezor Keep Metal with 24 seed words, and on Trezor official website they switched to 20-word model that is compatible with new SLIP39.

They didn't switch to a 20-word Keep Metal standard, they just added the 20-word Trezor Keep Metal to their existing portfolio. Switch would mean that they abandoned the other options. But you can still purchase all three backup solutions from their official shop. That includes a 12-word, 20-word, and a 24-word Trezor Keep Metal. The reason for adding the 20-word option is because Trezor Safe 5 supports 20-word recovery phrases.

You need to research this better.

Same here, but for those who intend to use the universal firmware on their devices, a discounted Model T could be more useful to them ^{[not sure why Safe 3 doesn't support a lot of cryptocurrencies]}.

I understand now what you are talking about. You are right: The new 20-word backup feature is available on both Trezor Safe models. I just checked the box content of those two models. The Safe 5 is shipped with the 20-word backup cards. However, they don't specify what backup cards are part of the Safe 3 box. It only says "2x Wallet backup card." It's fair to assume that those are also the 20-word ones.

It's too bad that they removed the traditional 12/24 word backup cards. I am sure that many users still prefer those and both Trezor Safe models support them.

Interesting. Last time I checked, they removed the Trezor T from the hardware wallet section in their shop, but they didn't touch the bundles. I even posted about it in one of the Trezor threads in this sub. It's good that it's back.

Their Amazon store says 50%. I didn't make any calculations on my own until now. Now that you asked, it's 50%. Old price: $179. New price: $89.40.

I am glad I am not reading this "Prime Day" thread until today.  I am weak and I likely would have bought another Trezor.  I already have a  small box of them, LOL!

For what its worth I still enjoy my Trezor T's even though it sounds like many are leaving them for newer alternatives.  If I didn't already have them I would buy newer too because I have always thought the T's were pricey ---- putting it nicely.

Amazon Prime Day has finished and the special offer from Trezor has also expired. Prices are now back to what they were a few days ago.

I am glad I am not reading this "Prime Day" thread until today.  I am weak and I likely would have bought another Trezor.  I already have a  small box of them, LOL!

Yep I have a Trezor addiction, LOL!

So my take is:   e.g. someone owns 1 Bitcoin currently worth just under 70K.  Financially spending a hundred or two to secure 70K is peanuts, and this example is 1 Bitcoin only.

I have been in this "hobby" for many years now.  I remember using air gap signing machines and going back and forth with Electrum, which works great, but frankly is more of a hassle than I want to deal with on a hot wallet.  Used to create and learn paper cold wallet stuff too.  All of this is effective it comes down to preference.

Readers here are "self custody" students of the crypto mechanism.  I hold my breath for the record number of folks jumping into Crypto with NO intention of learning self custody.  Any Gov can force exchanges to do unthinkable things if you surrender your custody of the keys needed to control your coins.  That was a rant ---- sorry.

In the end I bet I will end up with a Trezor safe 5 just because I want one, LOL.

I will repeat what I heard few years ago, keeping a bunch of shitcoins on hardware wallets is like keeping bunch of bananas in safe deposits.
For me reduction of coin support is actually a good thing, and you can even load bitcoin-only firmware if you wnat.

It's too bad that they removed the traditional 12/24 word backup cards. I am sure that many users still prefer those and both Trezor Safe models support them.

It's just a peace of paper.... so anyone can print their own or even better to use stainless steel backup.

In the end I bet I will end up with a Trezor safe 5 just because I want one, LOL.

I understand what you are saying. Many alts deserve to be branded as shitcoins due to the scammy nature in which they were created, with secret premines, control by a small number of people, or due to their ultimate goal to serve only to enrich a selected few developers and their friends. At the same time, one can't claim that certain assets haven't risen significantly. Look at solana, ethereum, dogecoin, even meme crap like pepe, etc.

Why couldn't Trezor create metal Safe 3 instead of Model One? Of course, these devices are not fundamentally different, but the updated (metall) version would look more presentable.

Also an idea for the Trezor with the release of a limited series of devices: to make a metal case from precious metals (gilded metal, silver, etc.).

This is a cool collectible item and it is always nice to win something for free, but it is easy to print your own metal cases for Trezor One if you don't win anything.
Trezor released all files for printing the case of this model and I know several guys who are accepting bitcoin payments to print anything from metal.
This should not be that expensive if you really want to go the metal way.
