Same here. I am simply in support of Manchester United to win in the quatre finals against Lyon. The only thing i consider that gives me an atom of doubt is how poor Manchester United has been in the Premier League. At times i wonder how they were able to reach the Quater final with their inconsistency. Then i remember that the English Premier League cannot be compared to other leagues it is one of the toughest leagues in the world. No team with inconsistency in performance will win the EPL.

you will be making a big mistake if you compare the wining probability of a team based on the league in which that team players yes it's true that the premier League is ahead of the French ligue 1 in terms of competitiveness but I don't think that I will matter in this game because it's two teams that are playing and has nothing to do with the  leagues involved, I think that the two teams have not been that convincing because the both teams have been struggling with form, so this first leg is going to be crucial because lyon is playing at home and they should capitalize on it and it a good result from this first leg

Lol... You're just funny to say that any team playing in the EPL is a big team. It's all a hype! We have always seen how English teams underperforms most times they meet these other teams from other leagues. Just the fresh one still in our memory is the match in the UCL between PSG (a French Ligue1 team) Vs Liverpool (an English league team who also doubles as league leaders this season) but just check how PSG dominated them in both home and away. I still maintain that Lyon will be difficult for Manchester United to handle and this is not about Which league they both plays but about current form and performance.

Not just during the past weekend. Apart from PSG, all the club in Ligue1 are weak clubs. Therefore, if Lyon is winning their matches in Ligue 1 is because they're all bunch of weak clubs. Don't use that to compare United who is facing some challenges to put themselves together and improve the team. Even at that, United is still stronger than Lyon in every aspect.

I see an inappropriate comparison for this issue because Ligue 1 is different from the Premier League so decisions based on previous match results do not determine any results. Manchester United were even able to hold Manchester City to a draw whose strength we can understand much better, but Amorim did his best to get one point. Likewise when facing Lyon in the Europa League and I am sure Amorim has got the right strategy not to lose points in that match.

Lyon does have the advantage of playing at home but Manchester United's strength cannot be ignored because sometimes they play quite well in the Europa League like in several previous matches where they were unbeaten.

I'm not w fan of Manchester United but telling me that Lyon stands a better chance of eliminating Manchester United than the Red Devils doing the contrary is something I'll never believe. Manchester United have been visibly inconsistent in the English Premier League this season but their results in the UEFA Europa League have been very impressive and that's why I'll be backing them to get the better of the French team and reach the semi finals of the competition.

In the UEFA Europa League, Manchester United is better than the Premier League because during away games in the Europa League, Manchester United has never lost. They were able to bring home 8 points from the 4 matches they played.

Supporting United here isn't that much of a wrong idea, nobody could guess who will do how and they still have a chance to win. Obviously it is going to be a bit tough to handle, nobody could guarantee something like that, but nobody would assume it would be easy, because it is not going to be easy at all.

I think it is base on your assumptions like this that many people have ruled out Manchester United, they have been poor in the league this season but time and time again European competitions have proven to be different to league football you see clubs doing excellently well in their respective leagues and all of a sudden they turn off in league competitions, same thing applies to clubs doing poorly in their league and turning up in European competitions.
