The forum search isn't responding.

I have struggled with the forum search for hours and it's not responding. Is it working from your own end? In such a situation,  is there an alternative means of searching the forum?

I searched a few things earlier today, and I was shown no result found.
 
The easiest way I use to search through the forum is by using a search engine like Google. For instance, if I want to search a keyword, let's use your username. For example, I will go to Google search "Floxynice" open bracket and put Bitcointalk; it gives me a fast result.
 
This is what I mean: "Floxynice (Bitcointalk)" then hit the search button it will give your all related results from that keyword on this forum.

Use Tryninja's ninjastic.space instead, forum search is problematic and it take huge forum's resources thus it takes too long to respond then fade away.

The built-in forum search isn't working properly I think admin did something on the forum built-in search because others are abusing it that causing forum to load very slow.

If you want to search on the forum you can find the advanced search on magnifying glass near the search button from the top right of this page.

Most times it depends on where the information you're looking for is at and the scope where you're making your normal search from, for example if the information you're looking for is outside a board and you're searching within that board you will not get your answer, check this
For the alternate means, you can use Ninjastic.space you have to make use of the inputs for this [depending on what you want to search ] or you can use a search engine, then add the keyword of Bitcointalk to it,this works for me most times  besides most bitcoin related search shows the forum sections.

This is nice and I am just getting to know this. I just played around with it and noticed that you don't need to even put bitcointalk in parenthesis, you can just put .bitcointalk or simply write bitcointalk and it will take you here. I used the above keyword "Floxynice bitcointalk and it took me to all the posts I have created.

No, it works on any browser and devices why not try it first or use this link below to directly go to advanced search you can either choose the Google search on that page or use the forum search just make sure to check all boards and play the message age if you don't want to show all old threads.

It looks to me like it's working as usual. (Which is to say, not great.)

I use the forum search a lot, but you really need to know how it works and how to deal with its quirks. Some tips:

• If you search for candy corn, it will return posts with both "candy" and "corn" in their bodies or subjects. The two words are keywords that can be separated, so it would match the phrase "I like candy, but I don't like corn". If you instead search for "candy corn", with the quotes, then the two words have to appear right next to each other as a single phrase.
• With the default settings, it will only return the last post in a topic that matches, even if more posts in that topic match. To change this, enable the option "Show results as messages".
• If more than about 5 pages of topics would be returned, then only an arbitrary subset of all results will be returned. To avoid this, setting a message-age restriction is often a good approach.
• If you use the search box in the upper right while in a topic or board, then it only searches that topic or board (& sub-boards).
• If one of the words in your search is incredibly common on the forum, like "the", then search will return bad, weird results, or may time-out after hanging for a long time. This applies even if the common word is in a quoted phrase, like "the president". Some decent-looking results may be returned, but posts which should be returned will not be.

That is strange because it works for me.

As if you have ever used that function... You hardly have time for that when you play with AI chat bots and then put that content on the forum.


Forum search works, we just need to know how to use it as described by the admin - or simply use search engines outside the forum with those keywords that interest you and the keyword "bitcointalk".
