The internet is an essential part of human life today, and living without it would be hard for many people. In the past, people only traded within their localities and face-to-face, but now, due to the internet, we can trade with each other globally. The internet has transformed the world from a slower one to a faster one and from an old form to a modern one. There is no doubt about this, but many problems have arisen due to the internet. The main issue is that while it connects people around the world, it also boosts feelings of loneliness, and people are afraid to face each other in person. Because of advancements in the internet, it can help in every sector, especially in our writing and speaking, however, due to this, we are losing our speaking skills. There are many other things that have been negatively affected by the internet. It has many benefits, but at the same time, it has some bad consequences.

Every social media platform became a market place sadly. Twitter, Instagram, Facebook even this forum... Everybody is trying to promote or sell something. Nobody is using these platforms to make friends or meet new people anymore. The whole world became a big fucking walmart if you can believe that. Sometimes I miss the old times. We were using MSN messenger, ICQ and shit. Nobody was trying to sell me anything. All those freaks were on TV. Now they are on the internet and crapping on all over everywhere.

Yes, it's pretty obvious by now, we have Amazon as one of the biggest if not the biggest online retailer, and for sure Jeff Bezos as a visionary has seen the potential growth and that's why he is a billionaire today as he built his empire on top of Internet. And when the pandemic arrives, everyone was in the lockdown and so we all turn to the internet as a survival, order foods online, and everything that you can think of.

It's the biggest market so far, and as I have said, everything you need will be at your fingertips. Although it also emerges as what we call "cyber attacks". It's not just physically you will launch a missile to attack the country. You can used the internet to cripple a nation thru cyber attacks or even espionage. And it just shows that everything has it's pros and cons.

It is now a necessity.

Internet is everyone’s playground.

I have seen people become successful just through internet alone. Whether they have launched something so innovative that went viral or they posted something funny that got them sponsorships or maybe they shared a talent and many now are acquiring their services. All of those were because of the internet.

Many people will probably tell you that their lives have been changed by the internet. As much as it has benefited a lot of us, the internet can also be used for less beneficial purposes. If we are not careful with our usage of the internet, it can lead to our downfall and eventually the ruin of our lives.

So, conclusion is that the internet has helped a lot of us today but we always need to be responsible and careful when using the web.

I do agree that the internet has revolutionized communication and commerce, but "the highest employer of labor" is hyperbolic to say. In other words, though the internet has opened many opportunities, especially among freelance workers and e-commerce, in general its effect upon jobs is two-edged.  Not all people benefit equally from the internet, approximately 58% of the global population are using mobile internet, but barriers include cost and digital skills, continuing to keep many excluded in general and especially in low-income regions. This gap would show that while there is huge potential with the Internet, it has to be more accessible and inclusive if it is going to prove to be a truly universal game-changer.

This is the point at which we should reflect, instead, on how to minimize the coming challenges, rather than merely listing its benefits-accompanying challenges being the displacement of jobs, digital inequality, among others-so that the internet truly serves all.

There is so much we can access easily through the internet. Movies, music, or just random things. We can all have it in a click. Which might make it difficult to focus and prioritize what we need to do. Look at kids these days. Their attention spans are not as great as ours. You tell them to read a book and not even 10 minutes they are already craving that dopamine that the internet or social media have been giving their brains.

We saw the good part of social media and the internet generally during the Covid-19. The Internet was the backbone of most commercial activities. The educational system was able to function because of its functionality.

The rate of suicide is becoming high because people are out there on social media glorifying the act. Social media is raising people who are acting like bots because they have been fed with information that is making them lose touch with reality.
