Anyway, I found something interesting from the past poll results. At least we know who're the majority of people behind the voters.

I'm curious what if the poll ask about gold and USD or S&P 500 and USD, if they're still votes for USD, it's not surprising why most people are poor and most banks are still survive.

I'm actually surprised seeing this poll as it gets to show that not many people are taking their finances seriously. Bitcoin have been on the news for a while now and was among the focal point in the electioneering campaign of the president elect Donald Trump, so I don't know if the people listening to him have been able to spend few minutes into researching about Bitcoin as people who are interested in making the future better. Like I said before, I expected the numbers to be higher in favor of Bitcoin.

From the Reddit post, the author was excited that we are early to Bitcoin and I agree with that because I can only imagine when the percentage will get to 50% in favor of Bitcoin , we would have been talking about Bitcoin price at over $500k. Therefore, I feel we are still very early to Bitcoin, the reason we should still persevere in buying and holding.

Interesting to see when the results of such polls would be swayed towards BTC.

There is never a late point to get on BTC and learn about it. Understand it. And invest in it.
That would be the case even when the percentage would be bigger than 50% towards it, in fact.
Because it would still probably be the king of crypto even then.

Probably the traffic on such sites consists of people who don't understand very well about finance or users that follow the majority, without looking into details. However, look at the gap between Trump and Kamala, more like their decisions are fueled by public opinion, rather than self research and knowing what actually works. Even when success is crystal clear many would follow the wrong path.

I would say that it is mostly because people are not into DYOR currently, they are more about - show me the right thing and I will do it, just convince me to do it -.
So maybe, hopefully - that would change during the term of the most pro-crypto House and Senate of this decade.

What surprises you in this survey? Personally, nothing surprises me. Yes, people choose what has already stood the test of time and has proven its effectiveness and functionality. That's why they choose the dollar, not Bitcoin. No one believed that an alternative to the financial system could appear. Many were skeptical and still are the majority, if you believe the survey data. So what... Not everyone in this world can be far-sighted. Someone has to carry bags and do the dirty work, right?

Most people today would probably trust USD more than Bitcoin for the reason that USD is usually a currency backed by the US economy, its value tends to be stable, while Bitcoin has volatility and it is not freely used in daily transactions, and other reasons. However, this wrong view is what makes more and more people lose the opportunity to invest in Bitcoin at a better price, they do not think clearly and turn a blind eye to the fact that Bitcoin's value continues to increase and its adoption is increasingly widespread.

People (just like the institutions sometimes) choose old and reliable methods for investments or things along the lines of it, not believing something to be better than these old methods, in fact.
I do see it changing as time naturally moves on and BTC becomes more spoken about by the entities that people believe.. albeit it would be much better if they would do their own thing, research, and then came into the space knowing fully well what will await them here.

That is how many people in life may never be rich, especially anyone that is not rich already but going for dollar. Most people do not know how fiat generally, including dollar are. They are designed to let you think they have stable price, but in long term their value will continue to fall. I have confidence in bitcoin than dollar but I prefer to make my speculation before investing in bitcoin.

We need to be realistic that no matter how good bitcoin is, no matter how much potential it has, it is still an asset class that is only 15 years old and has not been recognized worldwide, many people do not even care about its existence. Meanwhile, the remaining assets are thousands of years old, hundreds of years old and recognized by the whole world. So it is understandable why bitcoin is not the choice of most people.

According to a survey, less than 10% of the world's population invests in bitcoin, what can we expect? Everything takes time and bitcoin is no exception.

I can say that it's highly possible that this pool was not conducted in on a balanced sheet, by balanced sheet, I mean a platfrom with equal number of bitcoin and fiat users, for when a poll like this is conducted on a platform where the majority there are for fiat or bitcoin, then the chances that the end result will be absolutely one sided will be very high.

Take for example, if such a poll is conducted on this forum, trust me that USD will get zero vote (or to be more fair), as good as zero vote, why? Because the majority here are all bitcoin investors and users, and there is no way we shoot ourselves on the foot by voting for fiat /watching fiat do better than our very own bitcoin.

So, in conclusion, I don't trust the platform where the vote/poll was held to have enough or the same number of those who reallly understand bitcoin as much as they understood USD, else, the result would have been more competitive than this, it's clear that those who voted in that poll really do not know what bitcoin is or all about.

It shows that the government have made the people believe too much on fiat than any other currency. USD is the world reserved currency and people feel its the best, but they fail to understand that fiat deprecoates and government uses it to manipulate the economy. A lot of people will not have financial freedom from the government because they don't see bitcoin giving them that.

I think people from the poll are from the US mostly, but it still is a ridiculous percentage.

I have said this in previous threads, this is a bitcoin forum and comparisons between bitcoin and any other asset will always be skewed towards bitcoin. This pie chart is an example of the entire opposite skewness of opinions outside this forum. Most of them dont even know what bitcoin has been through and how it is going upwards over the years.

I do agree that it is their loss, because being knowledgeable about existing asset classes is important for investors because they start investing. Still this is a good representation of public opinion, most of them never cared about bitcoin.

Of a truth, many will go for the United States Dollar in their voting, because the US dollar is backed by the government and there could be a lot of conspiracy that will back sustain the United States Dollars longevity, we should pay close attention to those conspiracy before putting Bitcoin alongside a centralized currency as a tool of comparison because we are not going to get a fair result and anytime any day, the United States Dollar is going to be put at advantage over Bitcoin regardless of what the value and usage of both currencies.

But one sure thing that Bitcoin uses to pass the US dollar in most definite ways is the double usage of Bitcoin which the United States Dollar doesn't have such features which are:

1: Bitcoin can be used as a currency just like the United States Dollars.

2: Bitcoin double as an assets which make it value to increase and volatile, so for that we all should pay close attention to this before we make any possible comparison between the two.

There is a need to consider who the respondents of the survey are and how were they selected. If the respondents were drawn from a population that has little or no knowledge about Bitcoin, the result would favor fiat. An average citizen in my country doesn't know much about Bitcoin but everyone knows that the dollar is a valuable currency. If you ask people in a crypto forum or social media platform this question, I know that the majority of them will accept that they have confidence in Bitcoin more than the dollar.
