Perhaps privacy in terms of bitcoin or crypto might be in alignment with your definition of privacy but in my own opinion, it's all about how well we keep or activities on the internet not necessarily our bitcoin or crypto activity as bitcoin is not as private as it use to be back in the days hence its in our disposer to define what exactly privacy should mean to us.

Some people for some reason prioritise their investments over relationships that are live long, so goes to the extent of saying that they do not trust their family members to an extent that not even one person would have a clue of what they are doing or what they have in asset, thus I disagree with this vision of privacy and employe us to keep family close to the extent of disclosing some vital things to them in case of unforeseen circumstances.

“Just holding my coins anonymously” there is the answer that summarizes everything, self custody is the right way to giving your bitcoin and yourself some privacy but you need to make sure you’re putting other things in place as well.. how you connect you wallet to exchanges matter and it could reveal your identity but that’s if someone is really after getting your identity, you can reveal your identity online through address as well , exposing multiple addresses online could lead you to exposing a channel to your source addresses (main addresses
) unknowingly but once again these can only be done by someone who’s truly after getting your identity by all means as it isn’t a easy process to identify. Hence, just embracing self custody and other precautions is enough for your privacy.

What if something happens to you? Who will be able to handle your assets when you're no longer there? and the question usually ends up with people speaking of inheritance and not the exact thing I wanted to hear.
For instance, someone said he doesn't trust anyone to tell them his private key or anything close to his assets, but how do you all conceive this message?

When we say privacy, privacy can be of various forms either
Personal Privacy that is individual, Family Privacy and others ,and so it depends on the one which you want to operate on. As an individual am sure there is someone which you will want to confined in no matter the situation and who you are, some persons prefer a non family members than a family, which is very dangerous nowadays, because if the person is a family member it's still better because your asset still remains within the family and no matter how harden that  family member would be, the family bond will still speak within than an outsider.
Privacy does not necessarily mean that everything should be kept to yourself alone, what about documenting these informations and details on how you go about whatever documented information given.
Privacy means selected good person or persons that can be able to keep secrets and not talking too much or anytime you are being questioned you should know what to say and when not everyone.

Just like other forum users have said I think similar topic have already been discussed before in this forum. Although sometimes reminder is always good so that Incase if you have not hard it for the first time you will be able to hear it the second time so that it'll enable us take prevention. Normally as a human being have a self privacy is always good but is actually good to let your wife know some sating things so that Incase of any emergency so that she will be able to manage your investment, but let it be a good wife that you have trust on because most women today are not wordy to be trust again now.

I don't support the idea of keeping your assets private from everyone including your spouse's or loved ones. We can all agree that keeping your seed phrases and passwords private are important but just like you asked what if something happens? If no one else knows all these it means that your assets would just be wasted because nobody would have access to them. Sharing these informations with people are very risky but you must make sure that they are people you trust. Privacy is very important to everyone but for the sake of having a back up plan share it with someone you can trust.

This things are personal decisions, it depends on your reason for keeping them personal, I think there is time for everything, we are taking about asset, though no matter how you trust people they may have some lapses that you don't know that exist, your holding is very confidentetial as such sharing such information should be done with high level of carefulness, in this case no one knows what will happen in the next minute that's why we should get someone who's so dear to us involved but the truth is, this things is a personal thing, a holder may decide that he or she will not tell anyone, though people will see him or her as a wicked person but to me judging without knowing why he took such decision isnt  right.

I 100% agree wit watin you talk, if  you come get huge investment there and something mistakenly happen to u and no body know about ur investment due to say u no trust anybody, everything don lose na. Let try and give someone close to us a chance to know abt ur investment for future purpose tnx u.

This is a very reasonable and very important question that is coming at the right time because this issue of privacy has made a lot of people who claim to have been wise and feel that they don't trust anyone not even their children and spouse their private pins, ATM pins and even properties to have lost their sweet as it's outsiders that finally eats their hard work because their family members know nothing about what they have

I am of the view that people should be more transparent and trust their family members with their properties and pins because the fact is that no body knows of what is going to happen as anyone can die at anytime because wether you like it or not one day we will leave this world

Privacy is more than how you keep your seed phrases or passwords. Many Nigerians are not privacy conscious, this could be because we don't understand the essence of privacy. Before I joined this forum, I was doing things carelessly online without putting into consideration what Privacy is all about. Now, even if I don't practice privacy to the level I ought to, I now understand the implications of being careless with my privacy.

As for seed phrase, it is subjective. Anyone who doesn't trust anyone does not deserve humanity.

Privacy is far beyond protecting your Bitcoin and your wallets and avoiding exchanges. One of the bigger threats of privacy is compromising your personal data; something that can save your from a lots of troubles. Do you know if someone steal your data and use that for criminal activities, you will be in deep troubles? You remember the time they news broke out that the NIN portal was hacked and people data were being sold in some websites for as low as N100 per NIN? What that mean is that they can use your NIN to register a sim card, then use the card for some criminal activities and you will be arrested and prosecuted. This is what privacy breach can do and why you should be careful the level of information you release to the public about yourself.

In this century do we stil have privacy? I doubt if we still have it, the improvement in technology has made it so hard to gave a private stuff. There's always a way to get into one privacy. But on the issue of private keys to ur wallet is a one time stuff once its lost that's final. Logically as a wise man, knowing once u lost this key is gone for ever. You have to either write it down in your daily, is not necessarily to trust it with someone, its better you pen it down some. Your spouse or siblings can access in case of emergency. But if you have a trusted spouse or relative you can share it with him. If one say he trust no one then watch him carefully, no one trust him too. You have to be accountable to yourself before you talk of trusting other.  As for me, I'm prepared for ant moment, so I write my private keys and password on my daily, kept in a place my siblings can access.  That's how it should be, some people has lost their hard earn money in their wallet because they did not share it with someone or wrote it down. To avoid story that touches share ur private keys with a trusted fellow. It will save you tomorrow.

Correct me if am mistaken, there have been several records of hacking in several Cryptocurrency blockchains but I've never heard that Bitcoin Blockchain got hacked, since the creation of Bitcoin I don't think any money has been stolen from it's blockchain or the blockchain shutting down due to activities of hackers, it is the safest ever recorded and holders of the coin can only lose their assets if they use a non-custodial wallets that's not very secured or looseguard their private keys or seed phrases. Writing it on a piece of paper is okay but not very secured unless the paper is stored in a safe that can't be accessed by rodents and pests, cresting it on a metal plate that can't easily be destroyed is even more Better. Well, the world is becoming cruel cause the heart of human are becoming so evil to the point that people barely trust easily but atleast one must have some in their family they can give such secrets to in case the person is diseased.

If you don't trust your wives or family, don't expose your privacy to them because there are many in the grave today who made the mistakes by telling their wives their privacy that make their wives to take the advantage of that to steal all their BTC and travel out of the country or kill the men and move all the BTC from their wallets. But if you trust your wife or children, you can expose your privacy to them in case anything happen to you,  it will be easy for them to inherit your wealth which is the prayer of a good father for their children to inherit their wealth when they are gone to meet the Lord.

If you don't want to expose your privacy to your wife or children when you are still alive, you can write them down and tell your wife or children where they can get access to your privacy when you are gone, by creating a secret room in your house where only you can have the key to that room unless you are dead before they can have access to your cryptocurrencies in your wallets.
