How can one be in a relationship (wife and children) if you cannot trust anyone in your family to the extent of telling them anything about your investment? This got me worried; hence I decided we should discuss it here. I know weird relationships exist, but is it to this extent?

Until now, no one can give an exact answer to the question you have raised. I have seen this questions in the general board before and people keep beating around the bush without spilling it out. To my own understanding, no matter how you value your privacy, there must be someone to know about your secret seed phrase or how to get them when you’re no more. I see no reason keeping it hidden from the whole world, then leaving it behind as waste without anyone getting to use the wealth you’ve accumulated all this years.

People save for the future, the future of them and their loved ones, so in cases like this, one should definitely know about that even though not openly that they can access it while you’re still alive. The world is a scary place and we can’t be here forever, so considering given a clue to access then when you’re no more is important, if not I don’t see a need to keep wealth that can’t be spent by you or your loved ones in the future. Privacy is important but on how important it is, one shouldn’t make choices that will not be beneficial to them or their loved ones in the future.

Not every marriage ends well although marriage should be built on trust but not every marriage can do this, so it's safe and it's not at the same time, if you feel you and your wife already buildt this mutual trust to the extent of your bank acccounts and it's being going fine for  years then why not, but that's incase of emmergency though..
For me,  there's no reason keeping that you're into bitcoin or crypto in general but that should stay only with your families , keep it hidden to the rest of the world.. and for the access to you wallet, that should still stay hidden to only you unless you build a muttual trust in your patner already but imo with that i will stilll prefer to keep it hidden.

Some people for some reason prioritise their investments over relationships that are live long, so goes to the extent of saying that they do not trust their family members to an extent that not even one person would have a clue of what they are doing or what they have in asset, thus I disagree with this vision of privacy and employe us to keep family close to the extent of disclosing some vital things to them in case of unforeseen circumstances.

I’m happy you said “SOME vital things” which actually agrees with my own perception of privacy, yes it’s good to keep your family pretty close, but to an extent though. That’s why it’s important to have a personal lawyer, those folks have the ability to handle your private information and data with maximum professionalism, just incase of unforeseen circumstances as you rightly stated. This doesn’t mean that your family wouldn’t have any clue about your personal data, it’s okay to let your family know about those things but for some reason, I wouldn’t advice they know everything, not until the time is actually right.

In my own opinion privacy can be said to be the state of being free from the constant disturbance, the act of being free to be ones self without being looked at or judges. Everyone needs his or her privacy.

But most people tend to be really annoying why because they don't understand that word "privacy". You might want to just rest at home for a day and a friend barges into your house and pulls you out for a party.

Are people really aware of unforeseen circumstances? What if something happens to you? Who will be able to handle your assets when you're no longer there? and the question usually ends up with people speaking of inheritance and not the exact thing I wanted to hear.

For me i don't completely keep everything about my finances as a secret due to unforeseen events that can happen to one in the future. I know that bitcoin was born out of anonymity that is why it is a decentralized currency that involves only the sender and the receiver without any interference from any external body and of which we are supposed to give privacy to it but it's high time we realized that it is not supposed to be made completely private as we do not own our lives.

You see, one thing i will like people to practice is the idea of creating many wallets and make the private security information of one of them open to one member of your family you trust so much so that in case of any challenges you might face in the future, that person can be able able to access it an remedy the situation. Then, all the security information can be given to your next of kin when you are old enough and may not really have time for your assets again.

We should not make a mistake of keeping all our security information that leads to finances as a secret to everyone around us because if anything happens to you, all your assets will be lost forever and those who knew that you have an asset in bitcoins and did not reveal the security information will even curse you that you are a very wicked person for not allowing anyone to have access to your assets be it in Fiats or in bitcoins.

Another thing i will also add is that we should not put all our money in bitcoin, as you are buying bitcoins also have enough money in Fiats that you will store in your bank accounts so that in case of future unforeseen events, your family or your next of kin can easily inherit them when they go to the bank. We met money on earth and we will also leave money when we leave the earth but it will be so bad to know that someone owned high valuable assets and known of his family member or his children can access it, it will be too bad. Some people built secret houses without knowledge of a family member and when they are gone, they lose those houses to other people who are not related to them while their immediate family suffers, it's really a bad life i must say.

But it should be done only under the circumstances, and when it is mandatory, and that too with the people you trust the most. Because sharing such things with others will put your wealth at risk. Because everyone is greedy for money, especially family members, you cannot trust your family members as much as you can trust your dear friend (except only your father and mother). Because this has been proven with my own eyes. However, it is important to think carefully and foresight when sharing such confidential things under the circumstances, so that the right decision can be made for the right person and the right situation.

You see privacy, nobody jokes with it, is a very fundamental to everyone including children, you will see them at times and doesn't want anybody including their parents to touch there things because of how private they are to them, however have you been to somebody's house and they ask why didn't you inform them before coming because they feel that there should be a permission before someone should be allowed on their privacy, imagine how uptight people can be on this privacy scenario when we have not even talk about privacy of something that's of value such as coins or banking apps, whenever some people wants to inputs a password or pin for transaction they are ready to tell someone close to them to remove their face in other not to see what they are doing, the same thing on people doing Bitcoin transaction.

I have been touring around this forum, and I see a lot of comments from some people regarding how careful they are with their assets (bitcoin); their seed phrases and private keys are so private to them that they do not share them with anyone, but that brought me to this question: Are people really aware of unforeseen circumstances? What if something happens to you? Who will be able to handle your assets when you're no longer there? and the question usually ends up with people speaking of inheritance and not the exact thing I wanted to hear.
For instance, someone said he doesn't trust anyone to tell them his private key or anything close to his assets, but how do you all conceive this message?

This thread has got me emotional and thinking deep about Life, being overly secretive about everything (our assets) has consequences if we think about it. Some people have been too secretive that even their wives doesn't have access to their Bank account talk more of knowing the PIN, now talking about our cryptocurrency assets, after giving it a good thought i think the privacy aspect of it was made for strangers and people that means nothing to us, our loved ones has the right to know about our assets should in case something happens in future. I mean, what's the point of having so much money and our loved ones doesn't know how to access it when the need arises? We don't have to give them every details, we can leave a clue or something that will help them know in future.

I can't understand any form of privacy especially when it comes to your gadgets and your investments. It is very important to keep secrets to prevent scams, this includes keeping your private keys and seed phrases confidential and not sharing them with anyone.

But when we talk about privacy and keeping secrets there is exclusion (exclude family members) They must be a particular person whom you will trust among your family, either your wife or your children, who you will tell everything that is going on in your life. It is also possible for you to inform your wife and one of your children about your investment because the future is unpredictable and you don't know what will happen from now till tomorrow, and anything can happen. God forbid you can die anytime. It is very important to have someone that will manage your assets, incase anything happen to you. Don't expose your secret to anyone and don't share sensitive information with your friends, because no one can be trusted. As for me I would rather gather all my family members and inform them about my asset rather than telling a friend that doesn't worth it.

If I give an example of me I am not ready to give my personal information to anyone because if he withdraws money in my absence (even if I am alive), then I may be harmed. Maybe in some situations, no one can be trusted in the family. I am telling this in my case maybe others may have a different opinion. Suppose you have enough money in your wallet or bank account and you may have given access to your wife, she can withdraw that money and run away without informing you while you are alive. I think it depends entirely on the trust that to whom you give access to your wealth or it will be enjoyed by others after your death and your family members will suffer due to lack of money.

You must trust someone in the family and should give him all the seed phrases of wealth because the reality is that you will face death at any time and it is not limited to any age limit. Rather than losing wealth it should be with the family members so that the next generation will remember you, light candles and pray to God.
