These are chances i don't take anymore, but if he wasn't sure of the bet he could have cashed out as I know $444 is still huge enough to do alot of things. People seems not to understand gambling or the game they are playing, though there is no fun in this aspect and we can assumed he is gambling for the purpose of the money. Lol, checking the link you shared, the guy shared his account number(not sure if it is the account number on the gambling site or not if it is, he has some nerve to ask for donations to fund his gambling) and is begging people for donations. while it would have been better to cash out that $444 while he had the chance, I kind of understand why he rejected it and wanted a chance on that $746 payout if the last game wins. but personally, I would have cashed out that $444.

This is exactly one of the saddest moments a gambler can ever experience. Well to put it into perspective he actually lost only $4 but was simultaneously on the opportunity to get $444 from the bet. It's a tale as old as time. The more matches you play in a ticket, the more astronomical the chances for success become.
Don't expect to win at all. Winning is rarer than taking a ticket of 9 or so matches that loses by one goal.

So I'd say don't be so surprised by this. It's just a trick bookies use to make you think you're close and you'll get it next time or that you'll make better decisions if you try again.

Greed makes us messy and destroys us no one survives in human history if they are greedy, that's the right sentence in this case, even though he already has a big enough opportunity from his initial capital and get $444, unfortunately greedy people don't know enough, they pursue their ambitions that even make themselves lose everything.

Well, it is always the same atori because the nature with gambling and the way gambler think is always the same: there is no roof for their potential winning. They start with 4$, but they do not think it is acceptable to walk out the casino with doubling their money or even tripling it, ideally gamblers want to change their life with an ridiculously minimum amount of money and effort.
It is a sad story and to be honest with all the people in this thread, I would have done exactly the same as the protagonist of this tale because I am a human being as well, so I am vulnerable to greed, I would have felt incredibly bad.

Yes you are right maybe he is just trying to know how his confidence could be in a game like this, I think, when such confidence are built it makes the gambler remains stable while gambling or whenever they comes across similar games because he would be panicked to cash out his running games again. It may be that he has once cashed out a money before when given the offer by the casino when a game is left to be played and it went through as planned. Also, it may just be greediness which many will say it is because it’s a game of luck and nothing happens just as the way you want it but all base on luck, it would have been better he withdraw the money instead leaving it at that point. He was gearing for a full 100% even when he was given more than 50% of the cash to go home with. Some people can be overconfident in some matches. Example of such match is Sporting CP versus Santa Clara. Sporting CP has been playing very good in this season until recently.
