Gambling resolutions for better experience next year

Merry Christmas to all a big new year ahead my fellow gamblers. After all my gambling activities this year, i have come to realize that there are things i need to change. Some habits and games really did me dirty and it's now time that i leave them behind and try new things for next year. This year i spent too much money on casino games and they really did not work out well for me. And also, i bet on some games impulsively. Sometimes because  i am low on cash or i need to attend to something urgently and those rarely ended well.

Next year i have decided to focus more on games where i feel i am more aware of or in better control. I will not explore new games because they might be the beginning of losing. And lastly i will stop betting impulsively. I do not wish to take a break yet, but time will tell if things don't really go as planned i will be left with no option that to take a break from gambling.

I don't believe in waiting for a new year, new day, or whatever before making a resolution. And I not against people who do it either. I believe that if we want to make a change, we must make it there and then. As we already know tomorrow is but a dream and it is not promised. Since I reflected on my gambling activities I made up my mind to, go outside of my comfort zone. I love slots a lot, but I am going to be betting more on crash games, roulettes. I will also consider playing dice. Once in a while, I bet a big amount of money just to see how it goes. I will also explore more of sports betting than I used to. I have started on those changes. I look to do more gambling addiction awareness locally.

I do not have any resolution in mind pertaining gambling/betting because I keep to the weekly recommendation of not gambling more than 1% of my income, but I gambled with less than 1% of my income. To be precise, I spend less on casinos and more on sport betting but if I add both together, I still spent less than 1%. It was good.

I’m not sure but if you’ve been betting on slots then it would be a good idea to try and look for a sport you’re good at or you enjoy watching and see if you can predict the outcomes of that game and if you see that you’re doing well you can switch from slots to sport betting - it will improve your chance of winning because you mentioned “new games” if you were referring to slot games then switching to or sticking with a game won’t improve the chance of you winning or reduce the probability of you losing but with games that your skill and knowledge can contribute to your success would seem like a better choice here.

Well, for me the only resolution I have is to make sure I don’t change the way I handle my gambling finances; towards the middle of this year I almost lost track of it and I was close to spending too much on gambling and for next year, if God keeps us alive and safe I will try as much as possible to stick with my current budget and if I manage to increase my income I still want to stick with it no matter the temptation. This is just what I have in mind.

This year one of my biggest mistakes in gambling was betting on so many games, stacking up so many odds just to get profits but it did not always work out for me the way I expected, so next year my resolution in gambling at least for the first quarter of the year is to increase my budget for gambling and bet on fewer games with better odds. I think my chances of winning will be better then. I am not increasing my gambling budget so much, just slightly to ensure that when I win it is a good sum.

Depending on casino games is a big mistake because they are all luck based and the math is against the players by all means. Sportsbetting might work in the long run but there is a variety of choices there. Basketball, football, hockey, cricket, volleyball… these are all major sports and it is impossible to be an expert at all of them. It is even hard to master just one sport because then are hundreds of teams and thousands of players in that sport alone. For that reason many experienced bettors focus on only 2-3 teams at most and they study everything about them. They don’t bet on those teams if they are playing against any international teams too. I think that’s a wise strategy to follow.

These are my gambling resolutions for the new year to come which i have made for myself as follows:

1. Limit the rate and frequency to how i gamble.
2. Manage my time with doing other things.
3. Investing on other assets without using my investment on gambling.
4. Have time to focus more on my job and family and still gamble more responsibly
5. Gamble for fun and never to take it for granted prioritizing it over other other things that concerns me.

So what exactly are you changing? You will no longer spin slots? You will focus on sportsbetting? Your post is pretty vague and doesn't specifically say what you will and will not do IMO. Without a plan, you might find yourself saying fuck it and falling back into whatever bad habits have haunted you.

Anyways, something that I need to change is when I decide to look at betting a game. Lately I have found myself waiting until 5 minutes before a game starts to bet and not giving myself time to at least do a little research and make a better educated wager. Impulsively picking a favorite seems to be a weakness as well, need to pay attention to defenses and coaches.

Having a resolution for the new year is good but if their is anything you want to change about your gambling lifestyle it will be better to make the change now, do not wait for the beginning of the year to come before you make a change concerning your gambling pattern. I'm so glad to see a thread like this, I wish every gambler can make self examination about their gambling lifestyle to check if they are going about gambling in the right way, I think such adjustment will make a positive adjustment in one's life.  

All we need is to try to make some examination to check if we are on the right track, I think this will prevent too much lose of money in gambling and can also prevent one from becoming addicted to gambling.

The resolution is that having to understand the defeat and victory must be in gambling no matter the game you play, about your impulsiveity all can be said to any game even soccer betting, it's a problem in you not in the game so the most important to improve is yourself first in gambling, whether the game you can play or not, if you already understand losing and winning is a fairness then you will have a limit that will not bring you an impulsive gambler.

It's one thing to come up with resolutions it's another to make sure that you keep up those decisions you have made for yourself. New year resolutions has become an endless cycle of repeated events, after trying to make a change you end up falling back into your old ways due to lack of discipline, I have in this boat several times. One thing I intend to change is gambling with the intention of solving a problem, this desperation can make you lose money. As for me I don't think I would continue playing casino games because at the long run you'd find out that it's just a losing game, I would rather stick to sports betting next year.

In my opinion, It's important that a gambler sometimes needs to reflect on their gambling lifestyle and make some amendment where necessary but that's if the person is addicted or has a bad gambling lifestyle. Since the start of this year, I have won some small amount severely but I have lose so much and that's because I was not so much attached to gambling this year but if you @OP made the mistake of relying on gambling and betting compulsively to have lose some good amount like you said, then your decision to make a change is a good one.

Most importantly there is a need to follow through with the resolution because oftentimes time I have found myself in some kind of struggle in the first week of each year and this struggle is none different than just struggling to keep my New Year resolution or break back into my old ways.


But having a plan ahead of the new year is very ok and if one plays slot and bets on sports I think it ok and good enough instead of jumping on any new games that got introduced without prior information about the game, so sticking to you old games is ok though and hopefully that you follow through with your decisions and make the need change that you desire.

It sounds like you're getting prepared in the new year for more better gambling experience, it's sounds funny to me and that's how I see it but then as we enter the new year our resolution should be to be more discipline and be a responsible gambler, by maintaining the minimum percentage of amount we can afford to lose that should be one paramount resolution for any gambler next year.

hopefully, everything will go according to your plan. I don't count how much I lost in gambling this year, but thinking about something positive like you do seems to be much better.

The fact that I know planned games don't always go as planned , my gambling resolutions would be in the lines of not getting afraid of taking risk because too many favourites of the game have cost me money, so coming year no fear 🛑..

Now I can control myself better in the gambling that I do, unlike before when I tended to gamble I always couldn't control myself but even though now I can control myself, sometimes there is still a loss of control because I myself am lulled by victory, this is what I want to fix, even though I do not experience major losses but the profits that have been obtained sometimes become lost again because self-control is forgotten.

But actually to start something better, you don't need to wait for a certain time like waiting for the new year to happen, because if we really intend to change for the better then we can do it right now. But I admit that it is indeed difficult.

I have never counted my loses and my profit in gambling but generally my winning statistics is much less compared to my loses so that's why every years i have no particular resolutions for my gambling activities but indeed currently i was more focus to sport betting rather than other gambling games and on 2025 too i think my gambling activities is not much different than this year that i still continue to bets on football sports however indeed that i have personal ambition regarding sport betting that i want won the parlay with huge odds and hopefully this will be happend on 2025

New year new life, that is what we say, and having a new year resolution is better than not having at all despite how hard it can be to follow up with the target all year through and make those changes, will choose to only gamble on one site/casinos this new year 2025 since in the previous years, I have been caught in the web of confusion choosing play and try out multiple casinos which increases my risk, so in this new year I am only gonna be sticking to stake alone.

There is no resolution whatsoever for betting on gambling because it has already allocated a little for gambling so it will not go to another problem just because of impulsive gambling.

From the weekly income will not be all for gambling, only a little will be gambled the rest will be used for other worthy things, the important thing is to have discipline you will know how to overcome it.

Especially to spend money, while other needs cannot be resolved, then your problem is in your own discipline and responsibility.
