Cryptocurrency is still making a high volume of daily transactions and government reserves are focusing on Cryptocurrency most especially bitcoin, Gold and real estate is also thriving in high inflows of investors.

Institutions, governments and individuals are beginning to shift focus from the traditional old way of investment and money inflows and beginning to adopt contemporary portfolios as mentioned above.

Every country has there own economy so which economy are you really talking about that is bad, if your countries economy is bad then go straight don't generalize it this board is a general place for every country not for a specific country so when saying things like this please be specific.
Now talking about which industries are making money? A lot of industry are making money, I don't know if you mean the industry making the most money, the success of an industry depends on how the citizens and the government of that particular nation's looks at it, there are some industry that are successful and making huge amount of money in a particular country and not doing same in another country, for example the huge amount of money sport betting companies are making in some countries are different from what they make in other countries, right now the country that sport betting is really making good waves are United States and china so sport betting in this countries makes huge amount of money but in Saudi Arabia, Iran and Afghanistan sport companies will make very less amount of money reasoning being that gambling is prohibited under Islamic law and there's Strict enforcement of laws against betting and gambling and there's Limited access to betting platforms or outlets in this countries.
An industry doing well or making money in a particular country depends on the government, citizens, there cultures and laws, if this things don't favour the industry they won't make more or even exist in that country but if they do favour the industry they will be very successful.

Tech? crypto? or let's ask to whom the money is going on in the entire world? Well, it's going to the riches. As they're the one that makes more money than everyone else, they're in every industry. Name from finance/banking, tech, health, manufacturing and name all of the industries that never halt even when there's a pandemic and considering that some wars are happening on the other side of the world. Then, conclude that the arms dealers and its industry has always been profitable and making more money.

I don't have specific data, but my big guess is gambling - particularly online gambling. The thing is, even when the economy struggles, the gambling industry keeps thriving. That’s because both the poor and the rich continue to gamble, and no economic situation seems to shake this industry.

The money is being spent on goods. People might be making more money but it also does not help the economy or their individual financial status because the prices of goods and living expenses are also rising.

Which industries are still making money?

A lot of industries, mate. There are some industries where the trend has passed them by like for example tv prod or movie theaters because of online streaming but it does not mean they are not making a lot of money still. But in today's time, technology is definitely the industry to get interested in because of its recent popularity as well as its function to the society. Tech is everywhere and it is making loads of money.

That depends on your region because different niches make different money in every region. From my personal experience, tech and fitness are the industries where the most money is made. I live in a country where the average salary is $400 but my friend, who is a personal trainer, makes $5000 a month. I work in IT industry, I'm a UI/UX designer in local bank and my salary is $800. UI/UX designers in my region don't earn a lot of money unless you are the head of the UI/UX department but software developers are paid very well, more than in the EU but less than in the US. A very good software developer in my region earns 4000-5000 USD a month but the salary of lead developers can reach 10K in local banks. Btw it's strange but fitness trainers earn more money than any other professions in my country.

Technically industry that make the customer to get addicted is really promising industry, it could be gambling, porn (prostitution, only fans, porn comic etc), drugs, alcohol etc. Online gambling is still promising because many governments are still not really tight with their regulation.

There are many industries within governments that are unaffected by the economic situation in the country and will even profit from it. One of such industries that I'm able to identify right now is the pharmaceutical industry, because regardless of how the economy is, people will fall ill, and they would need to buy drugs to take care of themselves. The pharmaceutical industry is one industry that thrives even in the most terrible economic situations. Even if there is a pandemic or any sort of related crisis, the big pharmaceutical companies profit.

But the economy is still getting worse because of political instability, crisis, inflation, corruption...those things are draining people's wages and strangling their lives. I personally had to be conveniently intentional on no names calling about this act because when it comes to it the Western world isn't anything of a saint and we probably think of COVID19 because it's a devastating epidemic that's still fresh in our memo...

Yeah the food industry is one quintessential industry that is really pulling off profits too and generally the agricultural sector. With the exploding growth of the world population it makes the agricultural sector an area where every country of the world gives great priority, and those that are into food production are actually making huge money from it because definitely people must eat  whether under good or bad economy.

there are industries that not easily affected by a bad economy and mostly, they are industries that are in the business of transferring wealth from one source to another. The gambling sector is booming because it promises to transfer wealth from one hand to another. Because of that, people will always get involved in the industry because they are all interested in getting involved in wealth creation.

Other industries that you can't necessarily do without like the oil and gas industry, the food, technology and even the  real estate industry will continue to boom because they render essential services that people constantly need regardless of the economic situation that is affecting a nation. Bad economy is even relative because in the same economy that looks bad can the the same economy that someone discoveres a solution to a problem and becomes the next big thing in the industry.

Lol, the economy being bad is when it comes to the general financial situation of a country, when it comes to individuals, those who are poor are poor and those who are rich are rich, the rich have built businesses that is generating money for them and regardless of the how bad the economy of the country is, the rich who have planned themselves well and have made the right investments will continue to have money flowing to them, while the poor keep complaining of how bad the economy is and how hard life is for them.

There is probably a record number of people employed around this world, on this day, compared to most other times in history - almost every industry is making money right now, but it's too broad a statement. Within every industry there will be companies that are adapting to changing times and those that fail to adapt or do it too slowly, then go out of business. You see some banks rolling in money and other banks that are barely covering expenses. Same with oil companies, consumer goods companies, utilities, tech companies.. the list goes on. The market can be highly irrational as well with price swings on certain companies being unpredictable - you see companies making record profits yet that can cause their shares to lurch down, you see others deep in debt but somehow they jump up, you have to reassess value each day.

I would say people's money these days have been going to E-commerce. Online shopping platforms have gained high demand since pandemic has arise, and even until now, people are still seeing more convenience shopping online like the leading shop Amazon. And that makes the people even become poorer, most particularly for those who are not good on managing their funds, their expenses everytime.

it's always finance and new tech that's making ton and tons of money to be honest, healthcare too.
it's either futuristic industry or the ones where people are desperate.

I'd say, majority of money also going there, people make money from crypto very easy like it's nothing then you see people in other field doing two shift job barely make ends meet.
you know when things become that way, you should stick to the industry where flow of capital is huge.

Most of the time when the economy is bad the oil and gas industry still pays well, the price of oil recently stay around $75.94 per barrel of oil. I think the one that get the bad impact is the retail and technology industries, particularly after the new US tariff is enforced, which will be hurting the companies that depend on imports. The crypto and Bitcoin business has also started the bullish period, though it still kind of volatile. With talk about the bad economy, money is not disappearing, it's just shifting. Different sectors, companies adapt in their own way, strategies, and market conditions.
