Voided sportbetting freebets are not refunded. Why?

My question is, why online casino don't return the freebet when it is voided? Compare to regular bet that if bet is voided the amount you placed will return to your balance.

It's obvious that it's free, coming from casinos, so they have the right as well to void it or even cancel and not return your freebet. I know it sounds unfair since you have been playing on their platform and possible that you have lost a lot of money on them. But they are in the business of making money so they won't give you another chance to make money out of them. So it's not a privilege to have this freebets in my opinion. But if it's your own money, then you should be refunded.

What do you expect from something that is free, it's a gift or reward by the giver, if you don't like the conditions that is attached to it then leave it. We should understand that casinos are not charitable organizations, they're in business to make money and they do so when you lose, so any freebies that is given to you is a lose to them when you win. You have a right over your own money and can make complaints when you're not satisfied with a service that is rendered to you anywhere but if it's a freebie, you can't complain. It truly sounds unfair especially if you're losing your money but we have to accept TOS on freebies.

Yes, your experience often happens, including myself, I have experienced something like that, but not on the gambling site you mentioned, but on other gambling sites, I think the way they treat bonuses/free bets is almost the same, on average, If the bet is canceled you will be annoyed and bored waiting for the balance to return, it will not come back again.

I always say that if there is a topic regarding the issue of free bets, don't use it as the main benchmark for making money in gambling, on average they will be disappointed, if you gamble there must be a real balance, bonuses or free bets cannot be used as a benchmark, if you don't want to be disappointed in gambling, ignore bonuses/free bets, they don't make us rich.

Isn't it because freebets is technically money that they only put numbers in, compared to regular bets that has real value? It's online so they can basically do everything from giving you free bets to letting you play it in a match "virtually", and only make it real IF you win and AFTER you win. In addition there might be some ToS related stuff when it comes to voided free bets? Not particularly sure though since I've never encountered it before.

And it's free anyway. Technically speaking you bet nothing so when it was voided, you also got nothing back!

I think they should if the owner is a real gentleman since the bet is not lose technically speaking. Sportsbet action is the one that should be done on this case since the amount is just small and at the same time you get it fair and square from their promotion so casino shouldn’t consider it as free money only that’s why they can’t re-issue again another bet.

I never experienced to have a voided bet from my free spin but I will be frustrated if my free bet will be gone on a match or pick that didn’t happened.

This has happened to me twice now. lol The first time was on Sportsbet.io. I used my freebet on correct score (long) tennis bet and then one of the players retired, which mean the my freebet bet was voided. The second time was on FortuneJack, where I received $25 freebet and placed it on NBA bet builder. And this happens, one of the players was ruled out it was Joel Embiid, which mean the freebet again was also voided. Since these were freebets, they became completely useless and not refunded.

Good thin Sportsbet.io gave me some free bets as compensation or consideration, although not much compare to possible amount that I should have won, but I still appreciated what they gave to me.

That's really unfortunate to hear mate, but I think the casino system itself has their own policy towards that pertaining to freebets. In a word free, I believed that they had a free will to give that back or they'll just take it back to their account and refund won't happen unlike with regular bet. Let's respect that decision, and I hope players won't be mad on this idea because it's just their promotional funds to given aways so lets just enjoy this kind of privilege.

You know, if there are more gamblers disagree and complaints if the casinos have to return the free bets, the casinos might reconsider it. But, if most people agree, then they don't have to change anything, it also give edge on them.

Ideally, you should receive the same number of free bets you have received since it was not your fault. But since it is just a freewill gift from the casino, they can treat it any how they want. You might not be very upset compared to if it was your money. But it is good to know that one of the casinos refunded the voided free bet which shows that there are still casinos that consider such condition. Maybe reading the casino's ToS service would contain how such a situation is handled. Reading this document can help gamblers to know the outcome of such a condition in advance.

In my opinion, free bets should not be considered as full-fledged game bets.

They are just experimental game bets, with the help of which you can test a particular game in an online casino. Free bets are part of the online casino's advertising campaign, they cannot be considered as a full-fledged alternative to game bets. it is understandable that they refund a regular bet, they might even get in legal trouble if they decided to not refund regular bets if it is voided. As for free bets, it is different, my guess is the casino is taking all the risk when it comes to free bets so not refunding it when the bet is voided is one way for them to lessen the risk they are taking in.

I think you are quite lucky seeing that they compensated you for the voided free bets.

Regular bets are obviously our own money at stake so if the bet is canceled it is certain that the casino will return to the initial balance, regarding free bets it is just a kind of promotion so it is not a benchmark like your money, and free bets are only winnings that can be withdrawn like the capital bet is not, and for me every casino has a policy about free bets where if it is canceled then there is no compensation anymore.

This is correct when it comes to purpose of free bet. They intend to give free bet for the sake of trying the casino and encourage them to deposit later on.

This is wrong. Most of the free bet mechanisms is just one time use. You can only get the profit but the free bet value will be back to the casino so if you receive 25$ free bet and won with 2.0 odds, You will only get 25$ as this is your profit while the other 25$ will be voided already.

This is the reason why voided games makes free bet wasted since it’s the settings of free bet that’s why you need to contact support in case this will happened.

Free gift or not, casinos has a right to do what they want but there is still a fine line that separates the shady from the legit ones. Yeah, reading the TOS of each platform that we are about to use is important, not only for this specific issue and when I say read, we must read all of its contents because we might miss an important part and it can only be an answer to our future troubles.

I feel you mate, but It's depending on the  casino's rules. If it’s "your money" that you placed on a bet and it gets voided, then you’re typically entitled to a refund. However, "Free Bets" are usually bonuses given to you so they don’t work the same as when you’re using your own money.

In my case, it’s really disappointing because those freebet should have been all wins and the amount involved is quite big for me if they had considered it a win—which it obviously is. But as many of you said, there’s nothing we can do because, as they say too, rules are rules. At least I was given some consideration.

Anyway, I guess the best approach with sportsbetting freebets is to use them only on moneyline or handicap bets to avoid ending up in the same situation like this.
