Sad to know you have fallen into addiction already and there is something most people don't know about addiction to gambling, it can frustrate your life psychologically, socially and morally because you may find yourself doing some irresponsible things you never wanted to do in your life. It is not easy to come out of addiction because i have seen a man who became addicted and all efforts by relatives and family members to rescue him from gambling addiction proved abortive. In your case OP, i will say that you have to slow down your gambling rate because it is good you have realized now that things are going wrong and could get worst if you don't take proactive measures now. Some persons don't even realize that they have fallen into addiction till they have been totally destroyed. Find other things you can do with those time you spend in gambling and from there you will see how much you have saved for yourself while away from gambling, it will help you to minimize the time and money you spend in gambling.

Control yourself as best you can, get rid of the mindset that prioritizes winning in gambling, besides that you can just stop gambling when you have experienced a defeat, not continue to deposit money at the casino with the aim of turning things around by hoping that there will be a victory in the next gamble that can make you profit and cover the losses that occur, it will not be easy to happen and will not be as easy as you think.

Addiction or not depends on yourself, but if you yourself already feel addicted then you must immediately take action to reduce it, such as not gambling often and once gambling there must be a limit on the time or money allocated.

You really need to reach out to someone within your friends and families so that you can have someone to talk to. Or maybe those hotline numbers might help you so that you can vent your frustrations and then they can advise you on the next step.

It's not too late mate, there are a lot of ways to stop this gambling addiction but it will have to come within you, inside of you and have the mental strength to shift and make a U-turn for the good. So best of luck in your journey.

Is it possible to get out of the gambling addiction? Yes. Is it going to be easy? No. Having the two at the back of your mind, you will understand that it's surely possible but you will also have to fight to make it possible, you must help yourself first. It's like contracting yourself, (not to burst the bubble), sure maybe you can stop and quit, but you still have the environment around you that can influence you to go and play again and again, just saying.

As a clue, are you gambling to make money when you don't have a reliable source of income or you have a good source of income but simply gambling to earn passive income? If you answer these questions genuinely, you will know why you are desperate to win and because of desperation you keep doing the wrong thing and getting hit. If you have a reliable source of income, you will not be desperate to gamble rather you will only gamble for leisure, this way losses will not take a toll on you. As a matter of fact, work on getting a reliable source of income so that you can control your gambling by managing how desperate you are to win.

As for OP you will need to have iron discipline on this problem. I didn't gave gambling addiction but knew someone who has and know how it can ruin your life.

Try stopping the gambling for a few days and switch to some healthy activity like walking to keep your thoughts away.

And avoid debts at all costs, this can ruin your life the most. Also never steal to feed your addiction. This can cause huge problems with your loved ones and police.

You will not get help from this place, because what is conveyed is only advice and you are the one who must help yourself by doing what the members in your thread say, in fact you are better seeking help from someone close to you who you know can be a mentor for you to be able to get rid of addiction, and also someone can be said to be an addict after going through an examination not from your own thoughts.

Have you planted a sincere intention in yourself? Because a sincere intention can help the addiction process that you feel to the next stage, and besides that you must be able to control yourself and also fight all the negative feelings that you experience due to gambling addiction. It is indeed not easy but if you already have a sincere intention you will also definitely try to do it and leave everything related to gambling because this can help you sooner or later forget everything related to gambling and try to be honest with your partner, family or close friends because they can also help you to divert you from gambling in various ways. If you feel that you have become addicted to gambling, then you should consult a doctor. That's the best thing to do. However, if you don't want to or can't do this, then somehow your relatives must block your access to money. Essentially limit your legal capacity. You can not let yourself getting deeper in gambling because that will be too risky for you and makes you lose everything you have. You can go to rehabilitation near in your city to get a help from the professional but you must follow every step they give to you.

I have been addicted to gambling before. The only effective way you can stop the addiction on your own without any rehabilitation or correctional center if when you realize that you will always lose to the gambling sites and that the situation can not change but can become worse if you still see gambling as a means of making money which is the cause of your addiction. Stop thinking about making money from gambling. Only how you can know that you have overcome the greed is to stoop gambling for now. Do not gamble anymore until you think you have control over it. I stopped gambling for over a year when I knew I am no more addicted to it.

To stop gambling addiction is not an easy thing, but it does not mean that you cannot recover from this addiction. If you want to stop gambling then you can seek help from your closest people, and tell them about your problem. Or if you feel uncomfortable with them, you can visit a psychiatrist, maybe they will help you. But if you feel that you can overcome this yourself, then you can try to reduce the frequency of your gambling until you can really control it. That's all I can say.

So, how can be a non gambler is getting addicted to gambling?
