Trump has done more harm than good to the crypto community only few weeks after taking power. It was nothing but hype that led many people to go into it thinking that it is a good project for profit. The plan was to use Trump name for the project and before now it was all over on social media about Trump and cryptocurrency and doing this time many believe Trump was the reason for the increased of value in the market,  I think this could be one of the reason why many people jumped into this project believing it will be profitable for them.

I liked Trump during the campaign; his promises created a lot of buzz around Bitcoin, so it reached the 6-digit level, but he is not even a month in office, and he is changing a lot of American foreign policy. The Zelensky issue put Trump in a bad light again.
I hope his changing of policies will not cause harm in the crypto industry. He is unpredictable; we don't know his next moves, and he might change his policy towards cryptocurrency, and this will hurt all of us.

It's not the coin but the people need to be blamed who blindly invested in that meme coin. If you are investing in meme coin then you need to keep the risk associated with it in your mind. It's just like gambling with your money and in gambling you either win or lose. For Trump coin, those who made an exit in first 24 to 48 hrs after it's launch have won the lottery while those who entered after that are struck with no way out.

Same thing I was about to say at first, that this is not new anymore but then I realized that he is also talking about the year 2025, so I think he still got a point there. Even though there are meme coins from time to time, no doubt that Trump coin is the biggest on this year, that is because the president is involved here. That garnered the trust of so many innocent individuals even though they don't have or only have small knowledge in cryptos yet.

It is sad that this also seems to be their last after losing big time but it was also their fault anyways. This is an example of an expensive lesson. Can't think of anything right now apart from it but the dump on BTC price lately must've hurt many people too on this year, as it's been a long time since we are always up the trend.

Harm? I don't know that Trump call everyone to buy his meme coin. I was awake that night when I saw the coin launched, I try to verified the information if it's true on his X profile and it was true, to verify again I went to his truth profile to check and it turn out to be true but guess what, I didn't move an inch because I wasn't interested in some games, what he promised was Bitcoin strategic reserve and not meme coin and people jump on it and now want to blame him, remember it's called meme/fun.

Trump coin happen to be what everyone know, I bet you haven't look into pump fun since late 2024 and see the damages meme coin has done to crypto. Meme coin are the the reason why many people have loses because utility altcoins didn't even bother to pump. Some of them didn't dump when Bitcoin was falling and that's even bit you see meme coins, they were down badly. So don't blame only Trump for the misfortune of the market, it's entire meme coin ecosystem and the people that don't know when to stop buying.

It's just two months into 2025 and too early to vote for something like that. Meme coins doesn't hold an intrinsic value yet Trump coin is trading above $10 which is a significant price for a meme coin. People who bought it at cheaper price might have made a fortune with it and people buying it at higher price (including me) might have huge losses. There's nothing for the coin to blame, they don't control price. They don't have a business model to provide dividends to the holders. You could have made profit or loss in any other coin as well. Volatility don't make a coin bad. If it were a rugpull or a liquidation like FTX or a hack like of bybit, we could call it a bad thing.

I don't think it's that harmful, the only money going out is bybit's money, customer can still withdraw their money, if any, the price impact caused toward ethereum does affect community to certain extent but apparently not long after there's dump.
different if somehow people can't withdraw their money due to this incident and suffer the same fate as those ftx customers or mtgox.

I think that's how memecoins perform, precisely altcoins that don't have a clear long-term project like ETH and others that have strong fundamentals in forming a project in the crypto space, then the possibility of a decline after ATH will be very high, Trump and Melania coins are one of them but the worst in my opinion is the fraud on the Barron Trump coin because it was not issued officially but instead became a merciless project scam that bought it because the price dropped to the point of being worthless.
